AIIMS offers three nursing courses under its hood. All three courses follow different Exam pattern. Exam pattern for various BSc programmes at AIIMS are:

For AIIMS Nursing BSc (Post basic)

AIIMS nursing 2022 BSc (Post basic) exam candidates have to follow a two-stage selection process. The two stages are:

  • Stage 1: Written examination
  • Stage 2: Personal Interview/Assessment

Stage 1: Written Exam  for AIIMS Nursing BSc (Post basic)

Stage 2: Personal Interview/Assessment scheme

AIIMS will call candidates who will be able to make it to the merit list based on the written exam for the personal interview/assessment round. The second stage will have a weightage of 30 marks. The final merit list will decide the fate of the candidate based on their performance in both stages. Almost three times more candidates will be invited for the interview than the actual number of available seats. The assessment process will count the following criteria:

  • Past academic record in the Higher Secondary or class 12 or equivalent examination
  • Past academic record in the Nursing examination
  • Performance as a Staff Nurse

AIIMS Nursing 2022 BSc Eligibility

AIIMS, New Delhi, examination section has defined particular eligibility criteria for the candidates who wish to appear for AIIMS Nursing 2021 to pursue the BSc programme. AIIMS Nursing 2021 eligibility criteria for various programmes at the undergraduate level is mentioned below:

BSc (Hons) Nursing Eligibility

  • Candidates should have cleared class 12 exams or an equivalent exam from a recognized board with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English subjects.
  • Candidate of the general category should have secured a minimum of 55 per cent marks in aggregate in class 12 and SC/ST category candidates should have secured 50 per cent in aggregate

BSc (Hons) and BSc Paramedical Eligibility

  • Candidates should have passed class 12 or an equivalent exam from a recognized board/university having Physics, Chemistry, English, and either Biology or Maths subjects
  • Candidates from the General/EWS/OBC category should have secured a minimum of 50 per cent marks in aggregate in class 12 and SC/ST category candidates should have secured 45 per cent in aggregate

BSc Nursing (Post basic) Eligibility

  • Candidates should have passed class 12 or an equivalent exam from a recognized board/university having Physics, Chemistry, English, and either Biology or Maths subjects. However, candidates who have qualified for class 11 on or before 1986 can also apply.
  • Candidates possessing a Diploma in GNM (General Nursing and Midwifery) from any Indian Nursing Council recognized institution.
  • Candidate must have registered themselves as a nurse or as a midwife with the State Nursing Council. While in the case of male nurses, besides being a registered nurse, they should have six-month training in any of the mentioned subjects is mandatory.

FAQs Regarding AIIMS Nursing 2022 Exam Pattern

Q. Will AIIMS Nursing 2022 be held via both modes that are online and offline?

A. No, AIIMS Nursing will be held only via the online mode. The AIIMS nursing 2022 exam will be a computer-based test and the candidates will be allotted separate computer systems to solve the questions. For rough work purposes, the centre will provide them sheets that have to be submitted to the invigilator while leaving the exam hall.

Q. Has the AIIMS Nursing 2022 exam pattern changed?

A. No, the exam pattern has not been changed. The AIIMS New Delhi conducts the national level entrance exam to facilitate admission into the BSc Nursing and Post Basic BSc Nursing, the eligibility criteria and the pattern of both the exam will be different.

Q. Is there any negative marking in AIIMS Nursing 2022?

A. Yes. There is a negative marking in the AIIMS Nursing 2021 exam. For every correct answer the candidate will get 1 mark and for every wrong response -1/3 mark will be deducted.

Q. How many questions will be there in AIIMS Nursing 2022?

A. There will be 100 questions in the BSc Nursing question paper and 90 questions in the Post Basic BSc Nursing 2022 question paper.

Q. How many sections will be there in AIIMS Nursing 2022 exam?

A: The AIIMS Nursing 2022 exam for the BSc Nursing 2022 question paper will have four sections and the Post Basic BSc Nursing will have three sections.

Q. Do the AIIMS Nursing 2022 questions need to be answered in any specific order?

A. No, candidates do not need to follow the AIIMS Nursing question paper chronologically. Candidates can attempt any question or section first according to their own convenience.

Q. How many questions will be there from the English Section?

A. English section will only be found in the BSc Nursing exam and there will be 10 questions asked from this section.

Q. How many questions there will be from the Physics, Chemistry, and Biology sections?

A. There 30 questions from each section that is Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.

Q. Are there subjective-type questions in the AIIMS Nursing exam?

A. No, the AIIMS Nursing 2022 question paper will have objective-type questions only. The candidates will be served with Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQs) out of which candidates have to choose one option.

Q. Can I carry my watch to the exam?

A. No, candidates are not allowed to carry any watch or electronic gadget in the AIIMS Nursing 2021 examination hall.

Q. What will be the duration of the AIIMS Nursing 2022 exam? Will extra time be granted?

A. AIIMS Nursing 2022 exam for the BSc Nursing programme will be a 120-minute long exam and the Post Basic Nursing exam will be 90 minutes long. No extra time will be given to the candidates under any circumstances.

Q. Can I skip a question if I don't know the answer? How many marks will be deducted?

Yes, you can skip the question. No marks will be deducted or given if the question is unanswered.

Q. What is the weightage of each section?

Each section (from Physics, Chemistry, and Biology) of the AIIMS nursing 2021 question paper will carry 30 marks, for both the programmes i.e. BSc Nursing and Post Basic BSc Nursing. The BSc Nursing question paper will have the English section as well, which will carry 10 marks.
