AIIMS Nursing BSc Exam Pattern 2026

AIIMS BSc nursing 2026 exam pattern follows a two-stage selection process. The two stages are:

  • Stage 1: Written examination
  • Stage 2: Personal Interview/Assessment

Stage 1: Written Exam  for AIIMS Nursing BSc (Post Basic)

Exam duration

90 minutes (one and a half hours)

Computer-based test

Multiple-choice questions (MCQs)

Sections

Fundamentals of Nursing, Medical-Surgical Nursing including Anatomy, Physiology & Pharmacology, Obstetrics Nursing and Midwifery, Pediatric Nursing, Community Health Nursing, Psychiatric Nursing and Professional Trends in Nursing.

Negative marking

Yes (-1/3)

Stage 2: Personal Interview/Assessment Scheme

AIIMS will call candidates who will be able to make it to the merit list based on the written exam for the personal interview/assessment round. The second stage will have a weightage of 30 marks. The final merit list will decide the fate of the candidate based on their performance in both stages. Almost three times more candidates will be invited for the interview than the actual number of available seats. The assessment process will count the following criteria:

  • Past academic record in the Higher Secondary or class 12 or equivalent examination
  • Past academic record in the Nursing examination
  • Performance as a Staff Nurse

In case the signature is to be uploaded on the AIIMS nursing application form, it should ideally be of the size "20 kb – 100 kb" and the file format should be "jpg/jpeg/gif/png" only. Yes, you need to appear for the AIIMS nursing exam separately. AIIMS does not accept NEET UG for nursing courses. AIIMS conducts separate exams for: MBBS, BSc Nursing, Paramedical courses. The AIIMS BSc Nursing exam is offered every year.
