Q:   What is the overall difficulty level of AIIMS Nursing exam?

A:

AIIMS Nursing 2024 exam is expected to be easy to moderately difficult according to the previous years' trends. The exam is scheduled to take place on June 8 & 9, 2024 and BSc (post basic) exam on July 6, 2024 in online mode. 

The authorities will release the admit card of AIIMS BSc Nursing 2024 tentatively on June 1, 2024

 

Q:   Is there any negative marking in AIIMS Nursing 2024?

A:

Yes. There will be negative marking in the AIIMS Nursing 2024 exam. For every correct answer the candidate will get 1 mark and for every wrong response -1/3 mark will be deducted. There will be 100 questions in the BSc Nursing question paper and 90 questions in the Post Basic BSc Nursing 2024 question paper.

 

Q:   Has the AIIMS Nursing 2024 exam pattern changed?

A:

there is no official intimation about the change in AIIMS Nursing 2024 exam pattern yet. Until last year, there was no change in the exam pattern. AIIMS New Delhi conducts the national level entrance exam to facilitate admission into the BSc Nursing and Post Basic BSc Nursing, the eligibility criteria and the pattern of both the exam will be different.

 

Q:   Will AIIMS Nursing 2024 be held in both online and offline modes?

A:

No, AIIMS Nursing will be held only via the online mode. The AIIMS nursing 2024 exam will be a computer-based test and the candidates will be allotted separate computer systems to solve the questions. For rough work purposes, the centre will provide them sheets that have to be submitted to the invigilator while leaving the exam hall.

AIIMS Nursing BSc Exam Pattern

AIIMS BSc nursing 2024 exam pattern follows a two-stage selection process. The two stages are:

  • Stage 1: Written examination
  • Stage 2: Personal Interview/Assessment

Stage 1: Written Exam  for AIIMS Nursing BSc (Post basic)

Fundamentals of Nursing, Medical-Surgical Nursing including Anatomy, Physiology & Pharmacology, Obstetrics Nursing and Midwifery, Pediatric Nursing, Community Health Nursing, Psychiatric Nursing and Professional Trends in Nursing.

Stage 2: Personal Interview/Assessment Scheme

AIIMS will call candidates who will be able to make it to the merit list based on the written exam for the personal interview/assessment round. The second stage will have a weightage of 30 marks. The final merit list will decide the fate of the candidate based on their performance in both stages. Almost three times more candidates will be invited for the interview than the actual number of available seats. The assessment process will count the following criteria:

  • Past academic record in the Higher Secondary or class 12 or equivalent examination
  • Past academic record in the Nursing examination
  • Performance as a Staff Nurse

Q:   What will be the duration of the AIIMS Nursing 2024 exam? Will extra time be granted?

A:

AIIMS Nursing 2023 exam for the BSc Nursing programme will be a 120-minute long exam and the Post Basic Nursing exam will be 90 minutes long. No extra time will be given to the candidates under any circumstances. Candidates will only be able to leave the examination hall once the exam time is over. It is important to reach the test centre 30 minutes before the reporting time.

 

Q:   Can I skip a question in AIIMS Nursing exam if I don't know the answer? How many marks will be deducted?

A:

Yes, candidates are allowed to skip the questions. No marks will be deducted or given if the question is unanswered. However, if a candidate choose incorrect option then -1/3 mark will be deducted and +1 will be given for each correct answer. 

 

Q:   Are there subjective-type questions in the AIIMS Nursing exam?

A:

No, the AIIMS Nursing 2024 question paper will have objective-type questions only. The candidates will be served with Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQs) out of which candidates have to choose one option. It will be a computer-based online entrance exam for which 120 minutes (2 Hours) will be allotted to solve approximately 70 questions. Overall there will be questions from: Physics (30 marks), Chemistry (30 marks), Biology (30 marks), and General knowledge (10 marks).

 

Q:   Do the AIIMS Nursing 2024 questions need to be answered in any specific order?

A:

No, candidates do not need to follow the AIIMS Nursing question paper chronologically. Candidates can attempt any question or section first according to their own convenience. Overall there will be 70 questions in the paper for which 120 minutes will be allotted to the candidate. 

 

AIIMS BSc Nursing 2024 Eligibility

AIIMS, New Delhi, examination section has defined particular eligibility criteria for AIIMS BSc Nursing 2024 to pursue the BSc programme. AIIMS Nursing 2024 eligibility criteria for various programmes at the undergraduate level are mentioned below:

AIIMS BSc (Hons) Nursing 2024 Eligibility 

  • Candidates should have cleared class 12 exams or an equivalent exam from a recognized board with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English subjects.
  • Candidates of the general category should have secured a minimum of 55 per cent marks in aggregate in class 12 and SC/ST category candidates should have secured 50 per cent in aggregate

AIIMS BSc Paramedical 2024 Eligibility

  • Candidates should have passed class 12 or an equivalent exam from a recognized board/university having Physics, Chemistry, English, and either Biology or Maths subjects
  • Candidates from the General/EWS/OBC category should have secured a minimum of 50 per cent marks in aggregate in class 12 and SC/ST category candidates should have secured 45 per cent in aggregate

AIIMS BSc Nursing (Post-basic) 2024 Eligibility

  • Candidates should have passed class 12 or an equivalent exam from a recognized board/university having Physics, Chemistry, English, and either Biology or Maths subjects. However, candidates who have qualified for class 11 on or before 1986 can also apply.
  • Candidates possessing a Diploma in GNM (General Nursing and Midwifery) from any Indian Nursing Council-recognized institution.
  • Candidates must have registered themselves as a nurse or as a midwife with the State Nursing Council. In the case of male nurses, besides being registered nurses, they should have six months of training in any of the mentioned subjects is mandatory.

Q:   I have qualified for the NEET UG. Do I have to appear separately for AIIMS nursing exam?

A:
Even though NEET UG scores are accepted for B.Sc. Nursing (H), for admission to AIIMS Nursing courses, candidates must attempt and qualify for AIIMS B.Sc. Nursing entrance exam. AIIMS Delhi has a separate entrance exam that grants admission to nursing and paramedical courses on the basis of the scores in written exam. Therefore, it is mandatory eligibility condition for admission in AIIMS institutes located in Delhi, Bhubaneswar and Rishikesh.
 

Q:   Who can apply for the AIIMS Nursing exam?

A:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in B.Sc. Nursing (Post Certificate)/B. Pharmacy/Post Basic/B.Sc Nursing/B.Sc (Hons. ). Nursing/BDS/MBBS/B. V Sc to apply. Candidates belonging to General/OBC category should secure a minimum of 60% in the qualifying exam and those belonging to SC/ST should secure 55%. .
 

Q:   Who is eligible to apply for AIIMS Nursing 2024 BSc Nursing Course?

A:
Candidates who have cleared Class 12 exams or equivalent exams from a recognised board with Physics Chemistry Biology and English subjects and have secured a minimum of 55 per cent marks in aggregate in class 12 and SC/ST category candidates should have secured 50 per cent in aggregate. For B.Sc. (Post basic) nursing, candidates possessing a Diploma in GNM (General Nursing and Midwifery) from any Indian Nursing Council recognised institution are eligible to apply.

No, AIIMS Delhi will not provide travelling allowance to the test-takers appearing for AIIMS BSc nursing exam. Such costs are to be borne by the candidate only.
