Union Public Service Commission can issue a new exam calendar for 2020 soon. This will be an administrative requirement to issue new UPSC exam calendar 2020 because various exams are yet to notify and some exams are needed to be conducted. UPSC need to decide the priority of the exams and hence there is a need to prepare a new calendar 2020 as soon as possible.

UPSC has postponed the following exams because of the coronavirus pandemic and the emerged situations. These exams include the following.

UPSC IAS 2020 Prelims Exam

The UPSC had postponed the UPSC IAS prelims exam 2020 following the countrywide lockdown due to coronavirus pandemic. The IAS 2020 prelims exam was scheduled to be conducted on May 31. IAS exam is the most prestigious exam conducted in India. It is conducted to recruit the candidates for the All India Services and the Central Civil Services.

NDA 2020 Exam

The NDA exam 2020 was scheduled to be conducted on April 19 but was postponed to a later date due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The NDA exam 2020 was notified on January 8. The NDA/NA exam is conducted to recruit the candidates for the defence forces.

IES Main Exam 2020

The IES main exam is scheduled to be conducted on June 28 but it is very difficult to conduct the exam in the present circumstances. The IES prelims result 2020 was declared on February 20. The IES main 2020 exam will be postponed because UPSC has issued no notice related to the IES main exam 2020.

UPSC IES/ISS 2020 Exam

The UPSC had also postponed the Indian Economic Services (IES)/Indian Statistical Services (ISS) exam notification 2020. This exam is conducted to recruit the candidates for the IES and ISS working in the Central Statistical Institutes and other institutions involved in the Census and other important economic data assimilation and processing.

The UPSC will be issuing the new notification and exam dates after the meeting on May 20. As the number of corona +ve cases are on the rise even after the three lockdowns, we can anticipate that the exams will be further pushed to July and August which will further delay the other exams.
