220+ marks are a good score in IISER.  Students must have a proper strategy to score high. They can plan their preparation according to the IISER exam syllabus. Practising previous year question paper and mock test will help in scoring good marks.

A: 

Honestly there are no fixed hours to study and to crack the exam. There are people who stidy just 1 to 2 hours daily and they top in the exams and on the other hand there are people studying for 8 hours but they are not cracking the exam.

Q:   What is the level of the NEST exam?
A: 

NEST is the entrance exam for the Integrated MSc programmes. Hence, it is an undergraduate level entrance exam. Candidates who have passed or appeared for the Class 12 Board exam are eligible for the exam.

Top BSc/MSc Entrance Exam Eligibility Criteria

The top BSc/MSc entrance exams in India like IIT JAM, JEST, NEST etc. These exams requires 12th pass certificate for BSc/integrated MSc or a bachelor's degree for MSc in a relevant science stream like physics, chemistry, maths, biology, CS etc, with 50-60% marks for general category, relaxing to 45-50% for reserved categories, with 50% to 60% marks for general category, relaxing to 45-50% for reserved categories, with specific subjects depending on course and institute.

Common Entrance Exams & Eligibility

  • IIT JAM (Joint Admission Test for MSc): For MSc Joint MSc - PhD at IITs, IISc, NITs.

Eligibility: Bachelor's degree with 55% (Gen/OBC) or 50% (SC/ST/PwD) in relevant subjects like maths, physics, chemistry, biotech etc.

  • JEST (Joint Entrance Screening Test): For PhD/integrated PhD in physics, TCS, Neuroscience.

Eligibility: Bachelor’s Degree in Physics or Related Field.

  • National Entrance Screening Test (NEST): Five-Year Integrated M.Sc., in Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics offered through IISER & NISER.
  • Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE): M.Tech, M.Sc.(in Science), and Ph.D. in Engineering/Science Programs. 

BHU UET/PET (Banaras Hindu University Entrance Tests): These are entrance tests by Banaras Hindu University for Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) and Master of Science (M.Sc.). Requirements for the entrance tests vary, for Bachelor’s courses (B.Sc.), usually require Science stream in Class 12 with a minimum percentage of marks and for Master’s courses (M.Sc.), the candidate must graduate from a related Science/Engineering field with the required percentage of marks.

CUET Common University Entrance Test: It provides a single entrance exam for all colleges/universities offering Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) courses across India.

Eligibility: Completion of Class 12 in Science Stream.

Eligibility for Bachelor of Science (BSc): Normally, a minimum of 45 to 50% in the Secondary School Certificate (Class 12) from the Science stream.

Eligibility for Master of Science (MSc): The candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree (B.Sc., B.Tech. etc) in a related Science/Engineering field with a minimum of 50 to 60% marks.

Relaxation Policy: As per the Government policies, candidates from Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Other Backward Class (OBC), or Persons with Disabilities (PwD) are allowed a relaxation of minimum qualifying marks.

JEST exam is conducted as computer based test (CBT), not Internte Based Test (IBT). The questions will be displayed on the computer screen, and students can answer by clicking the correct options.

Q:   What is the right time to start OUAT Entrance Exam preparation?
A: 

Students should start preparing for the OUAT entrance exam at least six to 12 months before the exam date. Since it is an undergraduate level exam, one can prepare together with the Class 12 Board exam, or other national or state-level entrance exams.

 

 
Q:   What is IIT JAM Shift 2 exam difficulty level?
A: 

Students can check the experience of previous year students who gave IIT JAM exam:

Khushi: IIT JAM Biotechnology exam difficulty level was moderate. In Biology questions from Immunology, Genetics, Recombinant DNA Technology topics were asked. In sections, i.e., NAT, both from physics and mathematics questions were asked. Section A and B was comparatively easy than Section C.

Sudarshan: IIT JAM Economics subject exam difficulty level was easier than last year. Some direct questions were asked from liquidity preference money supply and few were asked from consumer and supplier chain product.
