The application process for the Centralised Counselling for MSc/MSc (Tech) or CCMN 2026 is anticipated to start in the fourth week of May 2026, tentatively. The CCMN 2026 application and registration process is completely online. Applicants need to use IIT JAM registration credentials to complete the registration process for CCMN 2026. The last date to register for CCMN will be notified in the due course time. 

CCMN Registration fees 2026 for UR, EWS and OBC categories will be INR 3,500 while for SC/ST/PwD it will be INR 3,000. 

Candidates are advised to check out the legibility criteria before filling out the CCMN 2026 registration form in order to not lose their candidature at any stage of the admission process. The CCMN registration includes filling in the application form, online choice filling, locking, payment, seat allotment and document verification process. The CCMN important dates will be released in the month of May 2026, hence applicants are advised to check and be updated about the CCMN counselling schedule 2026.

How to Register for CCMN 2026

Eligible candidates need to follow these tips:

  • Go on website of CCMN 2026 or enter ccmn.admissions.nic.in at an updated web browser

  • Click on ‘Online Registration and Choice Filling’ tab

  • Candidates registering for first time should click on New Candidate Registration on this page

  • They have to enter personal and IIT JAM such as:

  1. Name

  2. JAM Registration ID

  3. JAM Exam Year

  4. JAM Exam Paper

  5. JAM marks out of 100

  • After filling in these details, they will have to enter captcha or security pin
  • Click on ‘Submit’ tab
  • The next step is pay CCMN 2026 registration fee
  • Upon completing fee payment process candidates will have to complete rest of CCMN 2026 application process by entering academic details, uploading documents and choice filling process

Q:   What are CCMN conversion rules for the programmes groups in counselling process?
A: 

There will not be de-reservation of unfilled seats at all. However, in Special Round-1 (SR-1) and Special Round-2 (SR-2), the unfilled seats, if any, in the Program Groups G2, G3, etc. will be converted into the lower numbered group in the same category. In a particular round (SR-1 and SR-2), first iteration of allotment will be carried out without conversion and then the subsequent iteration will be carried out with conversion of unfilled seats related as per the following rules.
The conversion of unfilled seats will occur among the programme groups viz. from Programme group G5 to G4, G4 to G3, G3 to G2, G2 to G1. (refer section 14 “Seat and Eligibility Matrix” about details of these groups) in the same category. Programme group G5 seats will be converted to G4 group only when G5 group candidates possessing the minimum eligibility criteria are not available for G5 group seats and so on for other groups.

Q:   Is it necessary to complete the CCMN 2026 registration process in one go?
A: 

Students can complete the CCMN 2026 registration process in multiple stages. It is not required to complete it in one go.  Applicants must ensure that they save each section of the CCMN application form.

CCMN 2026 Registration Expected Fee and Payment Methods

The CCMN 2026 registration expected fee, as per candidate category, is given in the table below:

The CCMN 2026 registration fee can be paid using the ICICI Bank online mode (Net Banking/Debit Card/I-Sure Pay) or at any branch of ICICI through e-Challan. Applicants must note that the CCMN 2025 application fee is non-refundable.
Note: The CCMN 2026 registration fee has not been officially announced on the official webiste yet. So, students are advised to stay updated and check the website for the 2026 information brochure.

Q:   If I do not fulfil my eligibility criteria, will my CCMN application be accepted?
A: 

Applicants’ eligibility will not be verified during the CCMN application process. It will be checked during the CCMN counselling document verification process. In case a candidate does not fulfil eligibility criteria, their candidature will be cancelled and the application fee will not be refunded.

Hence one must be careful and read all the important instructions and necessary documents before filling the application form.

Q:   What is application fees for CCMN counselling 2026?
A: 

The application fees for CCCMN counselling varies for different category candidates. 

For the General, General-EWS and OBC category candidates is is INR 3,500 and that for the reserved category candidates it is INR 3,000.

Q:   When will CCMN seat allotment dates be released?
A: 

The CCMN seats allotment for 2026 will be out in the second week of May 2026, tentatively. The first round of seat allotment will be released on First week of June 2026, tentatively. While the second and third round of allotment will be out in the firts week of July 2026, tentatively. 

Q:   What is Seat Acceptance Fee in CCMN 2026?
A: 

Once a seat is allotted in CCMN counselling to the students, they need to deposit INR 15,000/- (for GEN/OBC/GEN-EWS) and INR 10,000/- (for SC/ST/PwD) towards Seat Acceptance Fee (SAF). 

After this applicants need to upload the required documents and submit their willingness as per the procedure.

This SAF amount will later be adjusted in the total fee to be deposited for the allotted institute.

The following documents are required for the CCMN 2026 registration - The registration ID of IIT JAM 2025, Aadhaar Card or photo ID card, passport, voter ID card, driving license, scanned marksheets and certificates of class 10, 12 and qualifying degree, details of payment mode of application fee.

Students need to examine the page attentively as the conditions of a particular programme may be on more than one row and scattered at the different parts of the page.

Candidates can also check the official website of the respective participating Institute to know further details of their programmes. 

Q:   What to do if there is a discrepancy in the name on the certificate or JAM scorecard in CCMN document verification process?
A: 

At the time of registration applicants should write their name as filled in JAM application form. However, during document verification process candidates can give an affidavit on INR 50/- Stamp Paper stating that the two names belong to the same person and if found false at any stage then his/her seat in CCMN counselling will be cancelled.

Q:   While choice filling in CCMN, I am getting a list of only a few programs, what should I do?
A: 

The list of available programmes depends on the eligibility of a candidate under qualifying degree discipline and her/his JAM paper.

Students first need check her/his eligibility and then proceed with filling in the CCMN application form. While selecting the qualifying degree discipline from the dropdown menu, one must check all the available options before choosing one. 

Q:   When will the first round of CCMN seat allotment release?
A: 

The first round of seat allotment of CCMN will be out in the first week for June 2026, tentatively. The official dates of first round of CCMN seat allotment were released on the official notification. 

After the first allotment is done, the document verifying officer will notify the applicants to further participate in the counselling process. 

In case applicants don't get a seat in first seat allotment then can further apply for the next round of allotment.

Yes, it is possible to get admission to NIT Uttarakhand with a rank of 2000 in CCMN. The range of cutoff among the General AI category candidates was between 1834 and 3736. Thus with this rank, it is possible to get admission to the college.

With a rank of 2000 in CCMN, it is possible to get admission to NIT Arunachal Pradesh. The last round closing rank for admission to the college among the General AI category candidates was 1972. Thus with rank, there is high chance of getting admission to the course.
