IISER Registration Process 2025 (Ongoing): Registration Process, Fees, Important Documents & City Preference

The overall eligibility criteria that a candidate need to satisfy before applying for IISER 2025 entrance exam application form is mentioned below:

1. Applicants must be Indian nationals or PIO or OCI in order to apply through KVPY or JEE Advanced or IAT channels. Candidates who are NOT Indian nationals or PIO or OCI can apply for admission only through the JEE Advanced channel.

Candidates are able to fill out the IISER Entrance Exam 2025 application form from March 10, 2025 onwards. The application process is completely online, and candidates need to register themselves first on the IAT 2025 official website.

IISER will conduct the IISER Entrance Exam 2025 for the academic session 2025-2026 on May 25, 2025. Candidates who wish to get enrol in the 5 year BS-MS dual degree and 4 year BS degree programmes offered by IISERs, IIT Madras and IISc Banglore institutes need to fill out the IAT 2025 registration form.

Given below is a list of documents/certificates whose scanned copies are to be uploaded at the time of online application for IAT 2025. The formats of the certificates are given in the Annexure.

1. Class 10 certificate
2.  Class 12 (or equivalent examination). 
3.  If the class 12 (or equivalent) marks sheet is not available now, then you can instead upload a signed declaration form mentioning : DECLARATION BY THE CANDIDATE IN LIEU OF ELIGIBILITY EXAM CERTIFICATE/ MARKSHEET SEE Annexure). Fill up the form, sign it, scan it and then upload. The scanned copies of the actual marks sheet must be uploaded on or before July 7, 2025, failing which you will not be allotted a seat in any of the IISERs.

The expected application fee for IISER Entrance Exam 2025 of various categories is as follow:

 1. INR 2,000/- for candidates applying under General, EWS, and OBC-NCL categories.

2. INR 1,000/- for candidates applying under persons with disabilities, persons registered as Kashmir migrants and SC/ST category.

3. INR 8,500/- for foreign nationals. Candidates must note that the application fee is non-refundable.

For candidates seeking admission under the GEN-EWS category

1. As per the latest guidelines of the Government of India, GEN-EWS Certificate should have been issued on or after April 01, 2024. If any GEN-EWS candidate fails to submit the GEN-EWS Certificate (issued on or after April 01, 2024) at the time of online application, the candidate has to upload a signed declaration form.

2. The candidate has to upload a fresh Certificate (issued on or after 1 April 2024) on or before July 7, 2025. 

3. If the Certificate is not uploaded by the given date and time, the candidate will not be considered for admission under this category. If qualified, the category will be adjusted accordingly in the Common Rank List.

No, there is no such age limit, but you can not take admission if you passed your school 3 years before the admission date, unless you go through the Joint Entrance Examination Advanced. Students should have qualified in the Joint Entrance Examination Advanced in the year 2022 and should have a rank within 15000 in the common merit list for General and Other Backward Class or in the respective category rank lists General-EWS, Other Backward Class-Non Creamy Layer, Schedule Caste, Schedule Tribe, and PwD. For Candidates seeking admission under the OBC-NCL category:

1. As per the latest guidelines of the Government of India, OBC-NCL Certificate should have been issued on or after April 01, 2024.
2. If any OBC-NCL candidate fails to submit the OBC-NCL Certificate (issued on or after April 01, 2024) at the time of online application, the candidate has to upload a signed declaration form.
3. The candidate has to upload a fresh Certificate (issued on or after 1 April 2024) on or before July 7, 2024.
4. If the Certificate is not uploaded by the given date and time, the candidate will not be considered for admission under this category. If qualified, the category will be adjusted accordingly in the Common Rank List.

For BSMS dual degree, you can apply for IISER's up to 1 year of drop. That is, you should have passed 12th in the year of admission or the year before. If you have passed before that, then, unfortunately, you can't apply. For Masters or Ph.D. courses, IISERs don't have their entrance exam.

The photograph must match with your appearance on the day of the examination in the following dimensions:

Colour of the Image	photograph must be recent and must be in COLOUR. Photographs of poor resolution taken using a mobile phone and other self-composed portraits may result in the rejection of the application.

Maximum and Minimum Pixel	The file size of the image should be in the range of 10 kB to 200 kB.
Background	Background of the photograph must be white or a very light colour.

While uploading the signature of the candidate, the following details are needed to be kept in mind:

Hi Sruti, As you are studying in class 11th, it is the best time to start your preparations for IISER. As IISER is one of the toughest exams, it will be better to give more time to yourself. The syllabus is same as class 11th and 12th. You can refer to NCERT for your preparation to clear your concepts and to make your fundamentals strong. Paper is based on your concepts only. Upon successful submission of the IISER online application form along with the exam fee, an automated email and SMS were sent to the registered email ID and mobile number of candidates. In case the application process was not submitted, but the application fee got debited, candidates were advised to contact IISER Exam conducting body or visit the official website for assistance for the application status. For the IISER application, an Aadhar card is accepted as an identity proof, but not as address proof. Applicants have the option to submit alternative documents for address verification. Discrepancies between the address on the application form and the Aadhar card will not necessarily cause issues. No, it's not compulsory, but you will be asked questions from all four subjects in the exam. Each subject has 45 marks in total, i.e., total marks of the test is 180 out of which around 105 marks are safe for you to get your first preference. But it's better to prepare subject you don't have (in this case Maths, as there are some basic questions which you can do with little practice).

Candidates were advised to upload a scanned copy of their passport-size photograph which should be either coloured or black and white. The photograph should be in white background and 80 per cent face (without mask) should be visible. The image file should have been in JPG or JPEG format and within 200 KB dimension.
