Fergusson- where you can get global knowledge.

Placements: I must say that during our last semester, the college took really great efforts to see that all the postgraduate candidates could get a biotech related job. Almost 80% of us were selected from the campus and the remaining students went for doctorate. The average package was not too high but the post we got were quite worthful for our qualification. For research associate, the package was 2 lacs per annum while for marketing, it went to 3.5 lacs. However, some of the students got 3.5 lacs per annum for the post of scientific writing and paper editing. ZocDoc, Lupin, Springer, Serum, etc. were the firms which had come for placements.

Infrastructure: Our college is spread on 65 acres of land and is full of biodiversity. The 4-acres botanical garden is the top most attraction. Being the most important education institute, the college has always made available all the necessary infrastructures and lab equipment. There are two girls' hostel and three boys' hostel buildings equipped with Wi-Fi. There are separate washrooms and bathrooms on each floor. Every student is satisfied with the equipped lab. Our biotechnology labs like a molecular lab, cell culture lab, animal tissue culture lab (ATC), etc. are being updated continuously to meet the day by day advances in modern technology. Each department in the college has its own computer lab and a separate library. Cryopreserved room, ATC-PTC room, PCR machine, X-RD, etc. are some examples of modern instruments.

Faculty: During my course, we had a total of 10 experienced senior professors, out of which 3 were postdoctorate, 3 were doctorate, and the remaining were associate teachers. The teacher to student ratio was high because there were 24 students. Usually, lectures were more like a discussion with having power point presentations, or Skype lecture by an expertise from abroad. The entire faculty was too supportive and they always updated us with global situations and modern experiments in our field.

Other: Though we are alumina now, still our college keep updates about us. Every year, the college arranges get together and appreciates our contribution to our field. The college has an A+ grade by NAAC for three consecutive years.
