JEST syllabus 2025 consists of important topics from the previous year's question papers, which are conducted by the exam conducting authority SERB. However, the previous ear syllabus was changed and then released along with the official notification by the Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST).

There are some important topics related to different subjects like Neuroscience, Physics and Theoretical Computer Science that are also included in the JEST Syllabus and the subjects in which a PhD is offered through JEST at the participating institutes. The JEST 2025 Application Process will start in February month tentatively. for candidates who wish to pursue graduate and postgraduate level courses. Candidates must also learn about the JEST Exam Pattern to prepare well for the JEST Exam 2025, by making an exam strategy.

Q:   Has the JEST Exam Pattern changed?
A: 

Yes this year both marking scheme as well as exam pattern was changed. There were three sections in the exam Part A, B and C. 

The total number of questions were 50, 25 from Part A, 25 from Part B and 15 from Part C. The exam was conducted for total of 100 marks.

There was negative marking for Part A and B as Part C was descriptive in nature. 

  

 

Q:   What is new exam pattern for JEST 2024?
A: 

Though the final exam pattern of JEST 2024 will be out in new notification but according to previous year information there were only two sections from which questions were asked in JEST exam and overall marks are also changed. It is multiplied 3 times than previous exam pattern. There is one third negative marking for each incorrect answer as well. 

Q:   How can I get good marks in JEST exam?
A: 

JEST exam is conducted across India to take admission in top colleges for PhD course. There are certain factors which needs to be kept in mind while preparing for JEST 2025 exam.

a) Complete your JEST syllabus within two months of the exam. 

b) Solve previous year question paper of JEST exam.

c) Dedicate last two months for revision and solving question paper in time bound manner.

d) Try to solve questions in the same time as you will get in exam to feel the pressure.

If one follows the above mentioned strategy then the chances of their securing in exam are great.

Previous year students who appeared for the JEST exam found that the exam is moderate to difficult. And therefore, JEST 2026 is assumed to be moderate to difficult. Candidates are advised to study hard for their exam.

Part A: 1 mark for a correct answer & -1/3 for an incorrect answer

Part B: 3 marks for a correct answer & -1 for an incorrect answer
