IIST publish the JEST cutoff 2025 marks once the JEST Exam is over. The result of the JEST Exam 2025 will be out on the official site. The JEST 2025 cutoff marks are the most significant criteria for candidates to beat the JEST Result to secure their admission through the JEST 2025 Exam.

The JEST Final Answer Key is the basis of JEST Cutoff marks for candidates who wish to pursue Int. PhD. Once the cutoff marks are out, candidates will be able to understand their result status more clearly, who appeared for the JEST Exam on June 22, 2025. 

The maximum JEST cutoff of the previous year was 72 marks for Int. PhD and 73.6667 marks for PhD course. With the help of the answer key, candidates can evaluate their total scores for the JEST Exam. The final cutoff marks for JEST candidates are prepared based on the JEST exam takers.

How to check JEST Cutoff Marks 2025

Applicants who want to appear in the exam can check the cutoff marks mentioned on the official website. 

Step 1: Visit the official website - www.jest.org.in

Step 2: Click on the result and enter the login details.

Step 3: After filling in the details JEST 2025 scorecard will appear on the screen.

Step 4: The scorecard will mention the details, i.e. cutoff, mark scored and candidate's name. 

By following the above-mentioned step-by-step procedure, applicants can get the JEST cut-off details for both PhD and Int. PhD programmes.

Q:   What will be expected cutoff for JEST 2024 exam?
A: 

The exact number of JEST cutoff marks will be out after the conclusion of the exam. But by observing previous year trends of JEST exam it can be said that cut off will be different for PhD and Integrated PhD. 

For PhD course the cutoff can be in the range of 30 to 35 and for Integrated PhD it can be in the range of 38 to 42 out of total marks which is 100 as per new exam pattern.

Factor Responsible for JEST Cutoff 2025

Various factors are responsible for deciding the JEST cutoff marks. Some of them are mentioned below:

  • Total number of applicants appearing in the exam.
  • The total number of seats for which the JEST exam will be conducted. 
  • Difficulty level of the exam

Q:   What is the cutoff for JEST?

JEST cut off marks are the minimum marks that applicants need to secure to pass the JEST exam. The cutoff marks will be same for all the categories, hence the cutoff marks would not differ. 

Based on the marks of the applicants the exam conducting authorities will release the merit list.  Applicants who pass the exam will further need to appear in the counselling held by multiple institutes. 

 

Q:   Who will release the JEST cutoff marks?

Since this year Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST) is conducting the exam, hence the cutoff marks of JEST 2024 was released by the same authorities. It was released in online mode on March 28, 2024. Previously Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB) used to conduct the exam and release the cutoff marks. 

Applicants who secure the cutoff marks will be eligible to take admission to their choice-specific course.

Q:   What is the validity period of the JEST score?
A: 

Applicants who are appearing in JEST exam are often curious about the validity period of the JEST score. The JEST exam score validity is for one year hence applicants who want to take admission in any of the JEST participating institutes can apply online the same year. After the completion of one year of validity of JEST score applicants need to again appear in exam and their previous year score will be null and void.  

 

Q:   Would the JEST results be declared in the form of merit lists?
A: 

The exam conducting authorities released the JEST result 2024 on the official website. It can be accessed by entering the login details. No merit list was released allong with result. 

Along with the declaration of result, JEST 2024 score card was also released. The participating institutes will release separate merit lists of qualifying candidates, eligible to participate in the counselling rounds.
