The Joint Entrance Screening Test (JEST) 2025 has been postponed until further notice. It was initially scheduled to be held on April 06, 2025. The exam-conducting authorities have not yet declared a revised date, and candidates are advised to keep preparing for the JEST 2025 Exam till further notification. 

JEST is a national-level examination conducted once a year for students who wish to take admission to MSc, PhD, and Integrated PhD programs in Physics, Theoretical Computer Science, Neuroscience, and Computational Biology across various participating institutes. The JEST Exam 2025 help the exam-conducting authority to evaluate candidates who are eligible to pursue an MSc or advanced BSc level understanding of Physics and Computer Science.

The JEST 2025 Registration has not yet started, and candidates are advised not to seek information related to the JEST 2025 Registration link or start date at this moment. The official link for registration will be made available well in advance once a new examination date is confirmed.

Yes, the Joint Entrance Screening Test (JEST) is conducted in a single day across multiple centers in India. The exam typically takes place in the morning slot. The duration of the exam is three hours, and the exam is conducted in offline mode. For the academic session 2024-2025, JEST examination is scheduled to be conducted on March 3, 2024, from 10 am to 1 pm. 

The JEST exam is a nationwide screening test for admission to postgraduate (MSc and PhD) programs in the Science disciplines in the Indian Institutes of Science (IISc), Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research (IISERs), and a few other institutions. The exam is conducted by the Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB) of the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India.

Q: Β  What is the recommended format for uploading scanned copies of photograph and signature in JEST online form?

The authorities have prescribed certain criteria and parameters to accept images for JEST 2024 application form. The maximum size for both photograph and signature should be 100 kb maximum.

While the dimensions for photographs should be Minimum: 100 X 125 pixels, Maximum: 240 x 300 pixels (width x height) and for Signature it is Minimum: 100 X 125 pixels and Maximum: 150 x 30 pixels (width x height).

If a candidate fails to upload the application form not in this format then chances of accepting the application form are very rare even if their form will be accepted they won't be able to get admit card.

Q: Β  What articles/things are allowed in the JEST exam hall?
A:

Candidates are not allowed to carry any articles such as calculators, books, mathematical tables, pagers, electronic devices, cell phones or any other calculating device to the examination hall. 

Since the exam will be conducted in offline mode hence applicants are required to carry a pen, pencil, their photo id and JEST 2024 admit card. Students must note that if any article is found in the possession of student during exam then their candidature will be rejected at the same time.
