To get admission to Annamalai University for MCA course, student must have a valid score in TANCET exam. As per the Annamalai University 2024 cutoff, the last round closing rank among the General AI category candidates was 2086. For the OBC AI category candidates, the closing rank was 2417. The SC AI category candidates have a rank of atleast 2203. Moreover, for the ST AI category candidates, the closing rank in the last round was 2363. 

The online/distance degrees offered by the Centre for Distance and Online Education at Annamalai University are valid. Previously, the University Grants Commission (UGC) did not approve its courses starting from 2015.
