No, marks are not deducted for unanswered questions in NEET. However, the NTA applies negative marking of 1 mark for each incorrect answer in the NEET UG examination.
No, the NEET exam or NEET question paper does not have any optional questions. Although there used to be 20 optional questions in total in between the years 2022 and 2024, but 2025 onwards, the optional questions in NEET were removed as part of the revision or change in the NEET exam pattern as per the pre-COVID era. Hence, the NEET 2025 question paper will not carry any optional questions, and will have 360 mandatory questions from Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
Although the questions are the same in all Sets of the NEET question paper, the order of the sections and questions vary from set to set. The different order of the sections and questions ensure that there is no malpractice conducted during the exam. Even if some questions are absolutely different in separate Sets or languages, the topics and chapters covered and difficulty level remain similar to ensure normalisation. Hence, it can be said that NTA Sets a common question paper carrying 200 questions, after which the questions are distributed across four Sets and six subsets of the NEET question paper. The subjects, and the questions within the subjects are shuffled for each of the NEET question paper Sets. This allows a parity in terms of topics covered and difficulty level, as well as allows avoidance of malpractice.

NTA releases the NEET question papers online on the official website of NTA after the conclusion of the admission process of the academic year. However, NTA does not release the NEET question papers of all languages and sets. The exam authorities primarily release the English language question papers followed by Hindi. Till 2021, NTA had released NEET question papers in all languages. In 2022, only three sets of the NEET English question paper were released. In the years 2023 and 2024, NTA had released only English and Hindi question papers.

NEET 2021 Question Paper in Tamil: PDF Download
On the day of the NEET 2022 exam, the invigilators handed over the NEET question paper in Tamil to candidates who had opted for this medium. After the exam, candidates could carry the question paper outside the exam hall, since the NEET exam was held in a paper-pencil-based mode. The NEET 2021 question paper in Tamil carried a total of 200 questions, out of which 180 had to be attempted. The total duration was three hours. Note: A large number of candidates opt for the NEET question paper in the Tamil medium. Candidates who choose Tamil medium need to select the NEET exam centres in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Andaman & Nicobar Islands. According to NTA, the centres of these states and Union Territories will distribute the NEET question paper in Tamil along with that in English. The final allocation of question paper medium and exam centre is notified to candidates on the NEET admit card.
