- BTech / BE: This is the most popular choice among students. In order to secure a BTech seat, a valid score in JEE Main exam is required.
- MBA: MBA admissions at Thapar University are based Thapar Management Aptitude Test (TMAT). It also accepts valid score in CAT, XAT, NMAT or MAT exam.
- MTech: Clearing GATE is the only to get an MTech seat at Thapar University.

Selection Process
Once applications close, Thapar university prepares a Merit List based on exam scores. If a candidate's name is on the list, they will be invited to attend Counselling sessions

Admission is then confirmed by reporting to Thapar University with required documents and required Thapar University fees.
