Assam University BA Courses & Fees 2025: Eligibility, Admission, Seats, Placements, Application

Yes, Assam University does offer undergraduate courses in the arts through its affiliated colleges and constituent departments. The university might not offer BA courses on its campus except integrated BA courses. However, the affiliated college of Assam University offers several specialisations in BA courses such as English, Political Science, History, etc. Additionally, the Bachelor in Arts course are available for the duration of three to four years and is offered in both full-time and part-time mode. 

The eligibility criteria for admission to BA courses at Assam University and its affiliated colleges are that candidates must complete their Class 12 from any stream with a recognised board of education and must secure a decent score. The admission is based on merit. Hence, to increase the chance of getting admission into BA courses, candidates must secure a good score in their Class 12.

The seat intake is 5,090. This college offers BA courses in several specialisations such as Hindi, Political Science, Economics, Environmental Studies, etc.

The minimum education qualification asked by the university to get admission into the BA course is candidates must complete their Class 12 from their respective boards of education. Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) released the Assam HS routine 2026. The AHSEC Class 12 exams 2026 will be conducted from Februqary 11 to March 16, 2026. Assam Higher Secondary Board exams are held in two shifts. The first shift exams is held from 9 am to 12 pm and the second shift exams from 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm. The Assam HS examination will commence with English paper and concluded with Advanced Sanskrit papers.
