IIIT Gwalior - A perfect college.
Placements: There are product-based companies that come for summer internships and placements like DE Shaw, Google, Curve Fit, and American Express. These are some top and permanent companies that always visit our college every year. Almost all students get placed. Even those who remain unplaced at the end of the placement season eventually get placed. Companies used to visit even at the end of the placement season. Also, 95% of students get placed. Software developers, cloud engineers, and system engineers are some of the top and common roles.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is good; a new hostel is also under construction and is expected to be completed by 2026. A new hospital is also being built. We have a huge college divided into two parts: Pockets A and Pockets B, connected with an underpass. The infrastructure is very cool. In the hostel, we get 24/7 internet, also wireless, so you are always connected to the internet. Coolers are allowed, and we have fully air-conditioned lecture halls, classrooms, and a library.
Faculty: Teachers are very good and knowledgeable. They all have PhDs from top IITs, some from IIIT and NIT. Also, some professors even have their postdocs from abroad. The course curriculum is versatile and gives you an overview of all engineering core subjects. Exams are moderate, and professors are good; they teach up to the gate level. Some of the students appear under 300-400 each year in GATE.
Other: I chose this course because it is versatile in terms of engineering courses. It does not give you the feel of only the software part, but also of communication and even some hardware parts. So I think information technology is more versatile than CS; that is why I chose this course. The crowd is smaller in our college, but new branches like mathematics, computing science, and electronics have been introduced. In the future, they are planning to acquire students for different branches.

The institute has a peaceful vibe and is quite big compared to other IIITs.
Placements: The placement percentage at the IIITM Gwalior is high. The placement percentage for Integrated B.Tech+ M.Tech IT is 90.91%. The highest package in IMT was 65 LPA, the average package was 22.6 LPA, and the lowest package was 7 LPA. Top recruiting companies here are Amazon and Samsung.
Infrastructure: First-year students got a separate hostel called SATPURA, which is situated just outside the main campus. It's a 3-seater hostel. Wi-Fi, particularly in hostels, is very poor; we get very low internet speed. The library building is quite big but has books only related to the courses available, as it has much space to accommodate more books. Classrooms and labs are quite good.
Faculty: Teachers teaching here are well qualified from reputed institutes and have their respective PhDs in their area. But some teachers are not quite good at teaching, while others are. The curriculum is very loaded with many classes and labs. Usually classes are from 9 to 4 pm, and sometimes 9 to 6 pm also.
Other: I simply chose this because it is the best I can get based on my JEE rank. It is the oldest, so I chose it. The first-year curriculum is full of irrelevant subjects, though it gives a chance to explore, but I feel it is unnecessary. There are many festivals and clubs. Campus is very less crowded; it has only 1500 total students. They offer scholarships based on your academic performance and provide various extracurricular activities.

Really happy to take the course. Also happy to see the placements of this year.
Placements: The placement statistics of our college are pretty good. The placement is growing at a good rate after COVID. This year many big companies came to visit our campus, like Google, Meesho, Deshaw, Uber, etc. The average package of our college is around 25 lakhs per annum.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is well maintained. All the rooms and labs are air conditioned. We have WiFi at our hostels and classes. We have full access to them. Sometimes the internet is not stable. Overall, it works fine. The food quality totally depends upon the mess committee. Sometimes responses are taken late. There are also cases of food poisoning as well.
Faculty: All the faculty are PHD holders in our college. There is strict criteria of 75% attendance . Although the leniency also depends upon the faculty who is taking the course. Some care about attendance over grades, while some don't. Some are very strict in giving grades, while some give good grades easily. Overall, the paper pattern is easy and it is quite easy to score good marks with even less preparation.
Other: The course was the best I could get at my rank. Additional to it, it was a five-year course , so I didn't have to care about my masters later. The college organizes a variety of fests. You will never feel bored of it. The college intakes only 1500 students every year. The campus is huge as compared to students. You might sometimes feel alone unless you make good friends . The campus is pretty close to the main market. Malls and shopping complexes are pretty nearby.

Absolutely satisfied with the faculty and placements. Average in mess and Wi-Fi.
Placements: Above 90% students are placed off and on campus combined. The highest package offered is 65 LPA, the lowest is 6 LPA, and the average is 22.68 LPA. This year, in spite of the recession, it is a good figure. Top recruiting companies are Meesho, DE Shaw, Macari, etc. About 70% students got chance for internship in companies like TCS, Infosys, etc. Top roles offered in the course are SDE, consultant, etc.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is not so good. It lags too much; labs are well-equipped and have all the things that are required for doing any experiments. Classrooms are too good; they have comfy seats, a central AC system, projectors, and good sound system. Mess food is average but canteen food is way better from it Colleges have several canteens that provide both vegetarian and non-vegetarian food to students at a minimal cost. Medical facilities are good; they have all types of medicines, and if they do not have a solution for the disease, they refer patients to any city hospital, and all costs are covered by the institute itself. Sports and game facilities are way better. Libraries are too good have all the resources that are in need.
Faculty: All faculty members are Ph.D. holder from premium institutes like IITs, NITs, IISC Bangalore, etc. Yes, they are helpful, qualified and knowledgeable. Teaching quality is too good. But sometimes it seems that they are fast. Yes, the course curriculum is relevant, and it makes the students industry-ready. The semester exam difficulty level is just above medium. Passing CGPA is 6.

An average campus life in IIIT Gwalior.
Placements: As the placement season for the 2025 batch is still underway, I don't have much detailed information yet. Some top companies that have visited include Google, Nutanix, Oracle, Grow, and Visa. However, the companies offering internships haven't been as impressive.
Infrastructure: The Wi-Fi could be better, but each room has a LAN connection for table access. Labs, classrooms, and the library are well-equipped with AC and reliable Wi-Fi. Hostels are older buildings and currently lack lift facilities, though the newer ones may include them.
Faculty: Teachers are qualified, but the grading system is good. It's difficult to score good grades. The curriculum is relevant, but one needs to drive deep into that particular course in order to crack an interview. Some exams are easy, but some are extremely tough with some complicated case studies, etc.
Other: Course Selection: I chose the Integrated M.Teach program in 2021 because, at that time, it was highly valued. It offered in-depth knowledge and additional research opportunities, making it stand out from typical four-year programs. However, with the evolving industry landscape, I've noticed that more people now prefer four-year courses due to their quicker entry into the job market. Campus Life: The sports facilities could have been better. Specifically, the cricket ground needed more maintenance, and it would have been great to have nets for proper practice. Connectivity to the campus is manageable, though transport could be more frequent, especially during peak hours. The campus surroundings are calm, offering a good environment to focus on studies, but there aren't many recreational spots nearby. Events and Fests: Unfortunately, post-COVID, the energy around events and fests hasn't fully returned. While some events are trying to revive, they still feel smaller in scale compared to pre-pandemic times.

Admission to the 5-year IPG (BTech + MTech in IT (Information Technology) is through JEE (Mains) held annually, and subsequent JoSSA/CSAB (Central Seat Allocation Board) counselling. Candidates can refer to the table below to know about the previous year's cutoff for the integrated programme:

Actually, there is nothing like better and best. It all depends on your interests and personality. Basically, IT is mostly related to computers, and it also has some basics in ECE. If you want to pursue a good career in the coding and software fields, you can choose IT. ECE is a subjective branch wh
