GBPUAT offers admission based on entrance exam score for most of the UG, PG and PhD courses. Patnanagar University conducts GBPUAT entrance exam for various UG and PG courses such as MSc, BSc, etc. The university conducts separate exams for UG, PG and MCA programme. Patnanagar University conducts GBPUAT entrance exam for admission to BSc (Hons) courses. The university also accepts ICAR AIEEA for Agriculture courses. Once the selection process is over for BSc, the university conducts counselling round. The number of counselling rounds will depend on the vacancy of seats. Online counselling for all programmes will be carried out after declaration of results. Aspirants need to pay course fee to confirm their seat in the university.

Candidates are required to pay an application fee to register for a course. Aspirants need to pay an application fee of INR 1,200 (INR 600 for SC/ ST/ PH) for admission. The applicants can deposit fee online by means of Debit Card/ Credit Card/ Internet Banking.
