IPU CET 2026 exam pattern is extremely important for candidates aspiring for admission to BTech lateral entry and BTech (Biotechnology). IPU CET exam pattern 2026 includes details like types of questions, marking scheme, the total number of questions, etc. Besides, it helps in understanding the layout of the question paper. Knowledge of the IPU CET syllabus 2026 is also important to prepare a good preparation strategy.

IPU CET exam is conducted for Lateral Entry to BTech programmes for Diploma holders (Code 128), Lateral Entry to BTech programmes for BSc Graduates (Code 129) and BTech (Bio-Technology) (Code 130).  The IPU CET counselling process for these programmes will be conducted after the results are out. Q:   What is the marking scheme of IPU CET examination?

In IPU CET for each correct answer, four marks will be given, and for each incorrect answer, one mark will be reduced. There are no marks deducted for unanswered questions. Examination is conducted for 2 hours 30 minutes. Candidates must know the marking scheme before attempting exam.

A total of 100 questions will be asked in IPU CET exam for B.Tech lateral entry and B.Tech (Bio-Technology) admission. Four answer choices be given for each question. Candidates must choose correct answer from options given. Total marks allotted to the question paper is 400.

IPU CET 2026 Exam Pattern

IPU CET question paper will include a total of 100 objective-type questions. Each question will carry four options, out of which only one option will be correct. Candidates are required to mark the correct one on the OMR sheet. The questions will be asked from Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology for BTech (BioTechnology). IPU CET 2026 examination will be conducted for a total of 400 marks. There are 100 questions asked in question paper. Each question carries four marks. There shall be a negative marking of one mark for wrong answer. To prevent losing marks, candidates should ensure they are before answering questions.

To participate in the examination and admission process, the IPU CET application form 2026 has to be filled out with the correct details only.
