Q:   What is the JEE Main 2026 exam date for Session 2 ?
A: 

JEE Main 2026 Session 2 exam takes place in the month of April every year. Whereas, the application form for Session 2 will be available on the JEE Mains website. The exam is conducted by NTA.

Q:   What is the cutoff for BTech in Computer Science & AI at IIIT Delhi for other than general categories?
A: 

In 2024, the cutoff ranks for B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering with a cutoff rank of 6695, followed by B.Tech. in Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence with 7865. On the contrary, B.Tech. in Electronics and VLSI Engineering had a closing cutoff of 11064, making it the least desirable course among the students. While the admissions are based on the scores/rank obtained in JEE exam, the last cut offs also change a lot depending on All India quota or Home State. Additionally, the cutoff rank also varies if the applicant is a female.

Q:   Can I get admission to IIIT Delhi without JEE mains?
A: 

The BTech course at IIIT Delhi is offered to candidates on the basis of their JEE Mains scores. It is not possible to get admission to IIIT Delhi without appearing for the entrance exam as it is an essential part of the selection process. Candidates must also have a minimum of 75% aggregate in their Class 12 to be eligible for the four-year BTech course at IIIT Delhi. 

Q:   What is the selection process for PhD in IIIT Delhi?
A: 

The technology institute admits candidates to PhD courseson merit and respective entrance exam scores. The accepted entrance exams are GATE/ UGC NET/CSIR NET. Candidates shortlisted based on exam scores are then invited for the interview round for final selections. Moreover, for some of the PhD courses, candidates are selected based on performance in the last qualifying examination. It is also crucial that each of the aspirants meet the required eligibility criteria.

Q:   What is the opening and closing rank for BTech in Computer Science and Biosciences at IIIT Delhi?

Opening and Closing rank depends on the category and quota of candidates. For the General category under All India, opening rank was 4554 and closing rank was 4659 in 2023. The cutoff in 2024 for the all-India quota ranged from 6695 to 9975. Cut off are differant when it comes to other categories or female candidates and even domicile of home state. Admission to BTech in Computer Science and Biosciences in IIIT Delhi is based on the scores obtained in the entrance exam JEE. Applicants are advised to confirm what category are they applying while checking for cut offs.

Q:   Which is better college to pursue for CSE, DTU or IIIT Delhi?
A: 

JEE Main rank is accepted by both DTU and IIT Delhi, followed by the JAC Delhi counselling process for admission to various BTech specialisations. According to the JAC Delhi Round 4 cutoff 2026, the closing rank for CSE admission for the General HS category was 14806. While for IIIT Delhi, it was 1129.

Therefore, going by the cutoffs for both institutions, DTU is relatively easier for CSE admissions. Candidates who qualified for DTU can view other parameters to make an informed decision.

Q:   Which is better IIIT Delhi or NIT Trichy for MTech?
A: 

The total tuition fee for MTech in IIIT Delhi ranges between INR 3.7 lakh and INR 6 lakh. NIT Trichy MTech fee is INR 1.4 lakh. As per placement statistics, the median package is recorded to be INR 18.17 LPA for IIITD and INR 7 LPA for NIT Trichy. Hence, it can be concluded that the fee is higher at IIITD. It must be noted that the fee given for both institutes is as per the official website/sanctioning body. It is still subject to changes and hence, is indicative. But, this institute also has got a good ranking as per a recognised ranking body. Thus, if given a choice, IIIT Delhi is a better option than NIT Trichy.

Q:   Is IIIT Delhi better than DTU?
A: 

DTU ranks 29 and IIIT Delhi ranks 85 as per the NIRF ranking 2024 under the “Engineering” category. The total tuition fee for BTech is INR 5.3 lakh to INR 7.4 lakh at DTU and INR 19.6 lakh at IIIT Delhi. The highest domestic and international package offered during IIIT Delhi BTech placements 2024 stood at INR 49 LPA and INR 109 LPA, respectively. Additionally, in DTU, the highest package offered in 2022 was INR 64.23 lakh. Considering the mentioned data, DTU is definitely a better choice for BTech course aspirants.

College is good and more oriented toward higher-order studies and research opportunities.
Placements: Placements are average. The package is good, but the total number of placements is nothing too impressive. For CSE, one of the best branches, the average package is approximately 22 LPA, while 90 of 120 get placed. The quantity of candidates can be improved and is the only major drawback of this college.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is one of the best in Delhi. There are ACs in all hostel rooms that start around 7:30 AM and stay on all throughout the day. There are 3 hostels, out of which Old Boys has to be the worst one since it is quite old but H1 and H2 are very clean and well-maintained.
Faculty: Faculty is good. Many are graduates from foreign universities, which can help you if you want to go abroad for further studies. The curriculum is quite tough compared to other colleges, along with strict invigilation during all exams and strict action, even a semester repeat if you get caught.

Basic information about IIIT Delhi.
Placements: 80 to 90 percent placement of top branches. Avg is 22-24 Lacs per annum. Many tech companies, and some finance companies, also. Variety of roles. Average of each branch is different; for ECE, it's even 16, for CS related it's around 20, and for CSE and CSAI, it's good like 22-24 Lacs.
Infrastructure: Good hostels, library, and R&D building are also excellent. Good research opportunities with respect to other colleges in JAC. Okayish mess, but food stalls inside the campus are very limited options. Nescafé is good, not that affordable, but it is fine as it's the only thing we have.
Faculty: Good professors. The curriculum is also fine. Exams can be difficult. Experienced faculty from various IITs and other institutions; they have a lot of experience. Also, you can easily reach out to them as they are all connected by mail, and you can even go to their office.
Other: Up-to-date curriculum. Events and fests are at an all-time low.

Not great value for money, but if you are research-oriented, this is the best choice.
Placements: 80% of students got placed, but this is the data for people with a CGPA of more than 8. The highest package was around 49 LPA. Top recruiters include Amazon, Google, Flipkart, etc. Students are also trying to bring in quant companies that give massive packages like 2-3 crore per annum. Internships are very tough to crack in the 2nd year, but there is a decent percentage of students who get internships after the 3rd year.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is excellent with AC and Wi-Fi in the library, all other buildings, and even hostel rooms. Mess food is average, but we have very few food options in the canteen, and except for the canteen, there are very few outlets inside the college. Sports facilities are great; you get almost every sport to play, and coaches are also available to train.
Faculty: Teachers are great. The course curriculum is almost relevant, but you really have to study hard, as there is too much academic pressure. Around 90% of students passed, but you need an 8+ CG to even sit in placements. Every course has 1 TF and multiple TAs who are really helpful.

Great infrastructure, facilities, and teaching. Good placements and lots of research capacity.
Placements: The placements of the campus are great and up to par with the best institutions. The average package is great and around 25 LPA. The highest CTC exceeds 1 crores and there is great scope for placement in reputable and well-respected domestic and international companies as well. Lots of alumni go abroad for further studies and job opportunities.
Infrastructure: The Wi-Fi throughout the campus works at great speed, and there is great network connectivity. Our RND building is state-of-the-art and has amazing infrastructure and labs for research work. The mess and bathrooms are hygienic and serve great food. The hostel rooms are spacious and well-maintained. There is a 24/7 medical office for emergencies. The library offers multiple rooms for group and individual study.
Faculty: All of our faculty are great, very well-read, and experienced. They teach us course relevant and extremely useful curriculum that is relevant in the modern world. Assignments and frequent quizzes keep us up to par with the curriculum. The exams are moderately difficult but great learning tools. The pass percentage is 30 percent.
Other: The campus crowd is great and respectful. There is good connectivity between the students and the staff. Fests and events take place every 2-3 months and are a crowd gatherer. There are numerous extracurricular activities, a 24/7 gym, and a sports block with many sports. I chose this course due to my passion for CSE as well as the reputation of my college and its programs.

Actually pretty good in the recent times.
Placements: Approximately 70 percent of the people who sit in the placement grounds from my branch get placed. The highest package is around 36 LPA, with the average being around 20 LPA. Top recruiters are ICICI, Adobe, Siemens. Around 60 percent of students get an internship in MNCs.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi coverage across campus, all classrooms are air-conditioned or cheated. Library has areas for group studies, discussions, or self-study. It is also stocked with books and provides Kindles to borrow. Food quality is above average, menu in the mess keeps changing every few months. The canteen is 24/7 with decent food. Small cafes and kiosks are placed throughout the campus.
Faculty: Most teachers are highly qualified. Teaching quality differs from one teacher to another, with most being above average. Course curriculum is mostly relevant, definitely making students industry-ready. Academic load is high throughout the year, and end semester exams are much harder compared to other colleges. Pass percentage is around 80-85 percent.
Other: Best things about the course is the design classes. You are provided with the full suite of Adobe to work seamlessly. Leisure activities are abundant as well. Campus crowd is excellent and fairly sophisticated. Greenery is abundant, with the architecture being state of the art.

Good infrastructure, placements and high teaching quality.
Placements: Placements here are pretty good, as there are only CS and Electronics branches. The average package is around 20-25 LPA. Some of the highest packages are from Atlassian, LinkedIn, NK Securities, and Quadeye. But from this year, we have also seen a lot of students getting placed in mass hiring companies such as HCL, TCS, Accenture. These companies offered around 4-6 LPA. Most of the companies offered Software Developer roles, but some also offered Site Reliability Engineer and Cloud Engineer roles. Overall, 70% students are placed till now (Dec end), and by March, almost everyone will get placed.
Infrastructure: We have a 24/7 open library which has a pretty good selection of books. Also, there is an R&D building which has a lot of study space. The classrooms are also top-notch in design. There is pretty good Wi-Fi available throughout the campus. There is an old hostel and then a new hostel. The new hostels have amazing infrastructure, right from the rooms to the washrooms, but the old hostel rooms are not that good. Also, due to overcrowding, it is difficult to get a hostel now. The mess food quality is good, mostly. There is a sports block too.
Faculty: Courses here are a lot more rigorous than in comparatively similar colleges. The teachers are highly qualified. Though many are a bit sadistic and make the lives of students unnecessarily difficult in their courses. They do keep updating the curriculum to keep it industry-relevant. The exams for some courses are very difficult, which makes it harder to get a good CGPA here.
