In 2024, the cutoff ranks for BTech in Computer Science and Applied Mathematics at IIIT Delhi other than General category was - 23566 for OBC, 94128 for SC, 103550 for ST, and 13240 for EWS. The candidates selected for admission after the test and inteview round get 15 days time to block the seat. For the same, a candidate needs to pay the required admission fee. JEE Main rank is accepted by both DTU and IIT Delhi, followed by the JAC Delhi counselling process for admission to various BTech specialisations. According to the JAC Delhi Round 1 cutoff 2025, the closing rank for CSE admission for the General AI category was 2285. While for IIT Delhi it was 8171.

Therefore, going by the cutoff for both institutions, IIT Delhi is relatively easier for CSE admissions. Although those candidates who qualified for DTU can view other parameters to consider for a better, more knowledgeable decision.

IIIT Bangalore and IIIT Delhi, both are closely knit leading Engineering Institutes in India. The NIRF ranking 2023 of IIIT Bangalore is 74 whereas IIIT Delhi is ranked 75 in the Engineering category.

According to student reviews and public sources, IIIT Bangalore has an edge of IIIT Delhi for M.Tech programmes. However, IIIT Delhi has a good reputation academically. Furthermore, location-wise, IIIT Bangalore is more in demand compared to IIIT Delhi as there’s a lot of involvement of core IT companies around Bangalore area. Apart from this, students looking for collaborative IT Industry projects and internship opportunities, find IIIT Bangalore better than IIIT Delhi.

In terms of placement, the highest package offered during IIITB placements 2024 stood at INR 65 LPA whereas the highest package offered during IIITD placements 2024 stood at INR 49 LPA. Moreover, the average package offered during IIITB and IIITD UG placements 2024 was around INR 34 LPA and INR 22.1 LPA, respectively.

Having said that, IIIT Delhi has more BTech course options than IIIT Bangalore, which students must keep in mind as well.

Now, it depends on students’ preference and their choices regarding location, courses and faculty to choose between IIIT Delhi or IIIT Bangalore.
