JNU Admission Process 2026
JNU admission process is entrance-based. Admission to UG and PG courses is via CUET-UG and CUET-PG, respectively, at JNU. Download JNU admit card to appear for JNU CUET UG and JNU CUET PG tests. For BTech and MBA courses, national-level exam scores such as JEE Main and CAT are also accepted. Check below stages in the admission process:
STEP 1: JNU Application Process 2026
Candidates can apply through the JNU official website (jnu.ac.in). Candidates must have selected JNU as a preference during the CUET application process.
STEP 2: Selection Rounds/Release of Selection List
Candidates are offered admission based on the respective entrance exam scores (for MBA & BTech). These shortlisted candidates have to participate in group discussions and personal interview rounds, after which a final list is released. For admission through CUET, the university will release a merit list or cutoff. JNU UG admission is based on JEE Main score for BTech and CUET-UG for other programmes.
The selection is based on CUET-PG scores of the candidates for PG admission. The university conducts a computer-based test for admission to PhD programme.
STEP 3: Counselling
Selected candidates have to participate in the JNU counselling for course admission (Except for MBA). During the counselling, verification and seat allotment is done.
STEP 4: Admission Confirmation
Selected candidates may have to go through a document verification round. Candidates have to pay some fees in order to confirm their seat.

What is the JNU CUET Counselling Process 2026?
Candidates who appeared for CUET-UG can apply for JNU UG & Certificate of Proficiency (COP) courses. Some of the courses for which CUET score is accepted are BA (H) in Foreign Languages, BSc-MSc integrated course in Ayurveda, and COP programmes. Admission is offered to the JNU School of Language, Literature & Cultural Studies and to the School of Sanskrit & Indic Studies. Aspirants must meet the eligibility criteria. Admisson is based on CUET score and points.
