Jawaharlal Nehru University MA course is of two-year duration and is divided into four semesters. Admission to the PG course of JNU based on merit in CUET-PG. Yes, candidates seeking admission to the JNU MA course must appear for the CUET-PG entrance exam, conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). The students are admitted on merit based on their performance in the entrance test and the deprivation points are added to their score in accordance with the approved admission Policy and Procedures of the University. The CUET PG 2023 exam will be held for postgraduate course admissions to over 50 Central and participating Universities.
MA graduates can make a career in industries such as banking, hospitality, railways, or public sector companies depending upon the chosen specialisation. The average salary given to MA pass-outs ranges from INR 3 to INR 6 LPA. You can work as teachers, journalists, project leaders, artists, politicians, research associates, administrative officers, content writers, etc.
Candidates are offered admission in MA programme based on CUET-PG scores of the candidates. The students are selected based on their performance in the entrance test. The CUET PG exam is held for postgraduate course admissions to over 50 Central and participating Universities.
There are over 965 seats for MA courses. The seat reservation policy is carried out as per a set of rules. Reservation of seats in various programmes of study for candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Other Backward Classes (Non Creamy Layer (NCL) and Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) category is 15%, 7.5%, 27% and 10%, respectively. As per the provisions of Rights of Persons with Disabilities (PWD) Act, 2016, not less than 5% seats are reserved for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities.

JNU MA Admission Dates 2024
Jawaharlal Nehru University MA admission season generally begins in the first week of March every year. The programme is offered under various specialisations via six schools for a duration of two years. JNU admission 2023 to the MA programme is based on a candidate's performance in CUET-PG, followed by a counselling round. In order to be eligible for the viva voice, a candidate must secure the following marks in the written examination:
- General Category: 30%
- OBC: 27%
- SC/ST/PH: 25%

JNU MA Admission 2024: How to Apply?
JNU grants admissions to MA based on the JNUEE test. The step-wise JNUEE Application Process is explained below-
1- Visit cuet.nta.nic.in
2- Read the instructions and select the agreement checkbox. Click on the submit button
3- Enter all the required details.
4- Choose the password and security question and enter the captcha
5- Fill out the application form.
6- Upload a digital image of the photograph and signature in JPEG format.
7- Payment of the application fee.
JNU MA Cutoff 2024
JNU MA cutoff 2024 is out for round three. The cutoff is between 83.33 and 85 for the General All-India category. As per the JNU CUET cutoff 2024, the most competitive MA course is MA in Economics (World Economy), with a Round 3 cutoff of 86.67 for the General AII India category students. In 2023, the cutoff for the same course was 67.66 for the General AII India category candidates. Hence, it can be concluded that the competition has increased for this course as compared to the previous year.
