No, Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) is not costly. It is widely recognised as one of the most affordable public universities in India. JNU total tuition fees is the highest for BTech course, ranging between 99.8 K - 5 L. The most economical courses are MSc, MA, MCA & MPH with tuition fee ranging between INR 432 - 480.
There are over 965 seats for MA courses. The seat reservation policy is carried out as per a set of rules. Reservation of seats in various programmes of study for candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Other Backward Classes (Non Creamy Layer (NCL) and Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) category is 15%, 7.5%, 27% and 10%, respectively. As per the provisions of Rights of Persons with Disabilities (PWD) Act, 2016, not less than 5% seats are reserved for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities.
For admission to the MBA course, the candidate should have appeared for the CAT entrance examination. Candidates can apply for the course only with a valid score on this exam. JNU MA Admission Dates 2024
Jawaharlal Nehru University MA admission season generally begins in the first week of March every year. The programme is offered under various specialisations via six schools for a duration of two years. JNU admission 2023 to the MA programme is based on a candidate's performance in CUET-PG, followed by a counselling round. In order to be eligible for the viva voice, a candidate must secure the following marks in the written examination:

- SC/ST/PH: 25%

In 2023, the cutoff for the same course was 67.66 for the General AII India category candidates. Hence, it can be concluded that the competition has increased for this course as compared to the previous year.
