MBBS - Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery - Batch of 2026
Offered by Dr. Somervell Memorial CSI Medical College and Hospital
2.2
3Placements3Infrastructure3Faculty1Crowd & Campus Life1Value for Money
Review of Dr. Somervell Memorial CSI Medical College and Hospital.
Placements: The college is a medical college, so there is no concept of placement. Some people who complete their MBBS course from here prefer to give NEET PG or transfer to the Middle East for good opportunities. Kerala itself has low employment if you are just an MBBS student. No companies are coming for placement. Students have to do a permanent 1-year internship where they help and learn more about the practical knowledge of a doctor.
Infrastructure: Classrooms are quite big. It's an old college established in 2002, so the classrooms are like those of a government college. A smart board is there for lectures, with no Wi-Fi facility available in class. The library is quite big, and all the skill labs and subject labs are properly maintained. The quality of the hostel is bad. There is no choice, you must take triple occupancy as there is not enough space, especially in the girls' hostel. There is no canteen in the hostel, and the mess of the college is the worst; the food is not even good, hygienic, and they charge too much for it.
Faculty: As this is a medical college, you will feel the stress, assignments, and exam pressure from faculty members. Teachers are knowledgeable and have good teaching quality. The course is curriculum-relevant and makes the students ready for real-life challenges. Semester exams are tough to pass. In fact, Kerala University of Health Sciences is among the toughest universities to pass. The pass percentage is generally above 80%. Teachers help you a lot.
Other: I chose this course to become a doctor and be socially well-recognized. People look up to you. The stress should have been less in my course, that is one thing I want to change. There are no events or fests, a high campus crowd, and calm surroundings. Welcome to the Jail and Concentration Camps. You cannot leave the hostel without loads of permission signs.

B.Sc. in Nursing - Batch of 2024
Offered by Koyili College of Nursing
3.6

Review of Koyili College of Nursing.
Placements: Manipal Hospital, Koyili Hospital, and Columbia Asian Hospital were few of the top-tier healthcare organisations available there for recruitment. The salary was mostly between Rs 10,000 to Rs 18,000 per month as the average payment. Also, in the training period, we won't expect a stipend from them.
Infrastructure: Transportation was available for all the students like day scholars, hostellers, and day scholars, who used public transport to attend community postings. They also provided transportation support in the late evening. The security and safety of the students were highly considered.
Faculty: They were only offering GNM and B.Sc. nursing courses over here. All the professors had abundant knowledge and expertise in the practical skills and their handling. Semester examinations were conducted once a year, for such exams were repeated model exams, and daily class tests were held in the test hour.

I am satisfied with the facilities and infrastructure available at my college.
Placements: I am studying at MS medical college. There are hundred and fifty students in my class. Hundred percentage placement is assured. The highest package is for NRI quota and is of about twenty Lacs per year. The lowest package is for special reservation like SC, ST, and is free of cost.
Infrastructure: We have a well-equipped classroom with well-maintained centralized air conditioning. Good and calm atmospheric library with all days availability. Hostel facilities are also good with good quality variety foods. 24-hour medical facility is available.
Faculty: All teachers are well-educated and highly qualified with good quality of teaching. They are really helpful and very friendly so that we can approach them anytime for any help. Exams are very difficult but are approachable. We have almost 90 percentage pass every year.
Other: I choose this course as it is a job-assured course.

Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharma.) - Batch of 2026
Offered by Al Shifa College of Pharmacy
4.2

College is good, you can enjoy college life and study at the same time.
Placements: Overall placement rate for undergraduate students is 85%. The average salary for B.Pharma graduates is 2.23 LPA. Top recruiting companies in Kerala include Sun Pharma, Ramco, and others. About 85% of students get an internship from the course and the college. After finishing the course, graduates can become a drug inspector, among other roles.
Infrastructure: Hostel at Al Shifa College of Pharmacy is very good. They provide good quality food with different meals every day. The rooms are good, very clean, and neat, with a lot of space. There are also good bathrooms and washrooms. The hostel has a medical room for its own use.
Faculty: Course is somewhat difficult to study. Semesters 1, 2, 3, and 4 are okay, but semesters 5, 6, and 7 are very hard to study. The teachers in the college are good; they are all well-qualified, good at teaching, and very helpful to the students. The course is valuable.
Other: I chose this course because it has a high value in the outside world, and I like studying B.Pharma.

B.Sc. in Nursing - Batch of 2025
Offered by Lissie College of Nursing, Lisie Hospital
3.4
3Placements3Infrastructure3Faculty3Crowd & Campus Life5Value for Money
The college has good labs, library, and placement. Clinical practice is good with supervision.
Placements: The university has approved 70 students in each batch. The hospital has given a chance for recruitment for the passing-out batch according to the staff shortage, and they mostly prefer the students from our college. Other hospitals, other than our parent hospital, have given recruitment to their hospital according to staff shortage or the staff who meet their job descriptions.
Infrastructure: The college has all skill lab facilities for its students, and there is also a staff training program for the improvement of their skills. There are a nursing foundation lab, a medical-surgical lab, a child health lab, an obstetrics and gynecology lab, a nutrition lab, and an anatomy and physiology lab. There are well-spaced classrooms with a mic and speaker for clear communication.
Faculty: Teachers are knowledgeable. Teachers who have completed their M.Sc. nursing are qualified for teaching in B.Sc. nursing, and those who have completed or are doing their Ph.D. are also recruited as teaching faculty. This helps the students to gain more knowledge. The semester system is more tightly scheduled.
Other: I have a passion for being a nurse, and it's my choice to study at this college due to its clinical experience and academics. I wish the semester system would need some more time to complete. Scholarships need to be given as the fees are much higher, as a common man could not handle it all by themselves. Extracurricular activities should be included.

Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharma.) - Batch of 2028

"Satisfied with faculty, facilities, and curriculum, but placements could be better."
Placements: The placement of our course is very poor. The highest package offered by our course is 2-3 LPA. The average is Rs. 75,000to 1 LPA, and the lowest is below Rs. 30,000. Cipla, Dr. Reddy's Laboratories, Lupin, Glenmark Pharmaceuticals, Novartis, etc., are the top recruiting companies for our course. Abbott Laboratories Ltd., Cipla Ltd., and Apollo Hospital, as well as manufacturing units, laboratories, and government organizations, are the major internship units. In our college, almost 90% of students are getting internships. The top and common roles of this course are pharmacist, research officer, drug inspector, etc.
Infrastructure: Average facilities and infrastructure are available to us in our college. Wi-Fi connection is not available to us. Labs are good, and we have almost all the equipment for practicals. Classrooms are wide, and there are many fans and lights. A huge and standard library is there, which has almost all the books related to pharmacy. The hostel facilities are average, and the quality of mess food is poor, but the canteen food is good. There are medical facilities for emergencies. Limited sports and game activities are available in our hostel.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful, and almost all are well-qualified and knowledgeable. The teaching quality is also good. The course curriculum is relevant; it makes the students industry-ready. Semester exams are tough, and the pass percentage is below 50%. Kerala University is very strict in evaluation and standard of studies, so there needs to be enough effort to pass the course.
