Mahindra University School Of Management Welcomes Its First Batch Of Undergraduate Students On Campus With A Full House Of 90 Students

September 10, 2021: In a day-long orientation programme, Mahindra University School of Management (MU-SoM) welcomed its first cohort of undergraduate students on campus. Mahindra University has started its School of Management in cooperation with Cornell University's SC Johnson College of Business.
The Dean of MU-SoM, the Programme Heads, and Faculty welcomed a full house of freshly admitted 90 students from BA in Economics and Finance, BBA in Digital Technologies, and BBA in Computational Business Analytics to campus.
“We welcome you all to Mahindra University, and it is our obligation to look after you for the next three years,” Dr. Yajulu Medury, Vice-Chancellor, Mahindra University, said in a statement. “The School of Management, in cooperation with Cornell University's SC Johnson College of Management, will ensure that your education and training at MU is on par with the best in the world.”, he continued
Furthermore, the emphasis on innovation, entrepreneurship, technology, and research at MU-SoM will ensure that students are equipped with the most critical skills for success in their professional lives. A significant portion of the curriculum will be devoted to ethical, cultural, and social precepts that will aid in the development of the student into a socially conscious professional capable of contributing to society and the economy.
The inauguration address was given by Prof. Ramakrishna Velamuri, Dean, Mahindra University's School of Management. He emphasised Mahindra University's stated goal of offering a strong foundation in digital and emerging technologies across all programmes in his welcome speech. “At Mahindra University School of Management, we will strive to alter the way millennials study by giving a strong foundation in digital and other emerging technologies, in addition to in-depth academic inputs and constant industry interface,” he said.
The Pioneers, the first cohort of MU-SoM students, are a varied group who excel not just academically but also creatively and extracurricularly. National-level athletes, Kuchipudi, Kathak, and Bharatanatyam dancers, Trinity-trained drummers and guitarists, and many students with good GPAs in school are among the students. MU-SoM will channel these diverse energies in order to hone their skills and prepare them to become well-qualified and trained business and economics experts.
The students in “The Pioneers” are from a variety of places, including AP and Telangana, Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Kolkata, and Bangalore, among others, making the batch culturally broad and flexible. Furthermore, the school boasts a vibrant girls-to-boys ratio of 45 to 55, which is arguably the greatest in the country.
