No, admission to MAKAUT is based on entrance exams for courses such as BTech. Candidates wanting to get admission to MAKAUT for BTech must qualify West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations (WBJEE) exam and WBJEE Counselling. Those willing to get admission in the second year must appear for JELET (for Lateral Entry). MAKAUT also accepts JEE Main exam for BTech admission.

MAKAUT University accepts both merit and entrance based exam scores. The university conducts CET exam in June for admission to courses such as BSc, MSc, BBA and BCA courses.
