AILET is now conducted once in a year, and in month of December. The exam authority, National Law University, Delhi always conducted AILET once in a year, except for year 2022, when the exam was held twice I. e. once in June and then in December. However, the exam authority also notified that it's one time modification, and from AILET 2024 onwards, the exam will be held once in a year. AILET is important because it is the only entrance exam that law aspirants can qualify and be eligible for most prominent National Law University in India; i.e. NLU Delhi. It is also one of the most competitive law entrance exams for admission to NLU Delhi, as it doesn't accept CLAT score. Apart from this, many Public Sector Undertaking (PSUs) in India accept AILET LL. M. scores for the recruitment of candidates.

NLU Courses Eligibility Criteria
UG Eligibility - Candidates seeking admissions to the five-year integrated LLB courses at NLUs have to fulfil the eligibility criteria as under:
- They must have passed Class 12th or equivalent examination with 45% marks if belonging to General/ OBC/ PWD/ NRI/ OCI categories and, 40% marks if belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC)/ Scheduled Tribes (ST).
- Those appearing for the qualifying examination are also eligible to apply, however, they should submit the proof of qualification at the time of seat allotment and final admission.
PG Eligibility - Candidates should have completed a three-year or five-year LLB degree with at least 50% marks (45% marks if belonging to SC/ST categories). Those who are appearing for the final semester examination or awaiting results are also eligible to apply.
The mode of examination is offline i.e. pen-paper-based test mode. The question paper pattern of NLSAT is divided into two parts i.e. Part A comprises 75 marks for objective-type questions, and Part B comprises 65 marks for subjective-type questions.
The candidates will be able to download the notification for the AILET exam from the NLU Delhi official website. This document is important as it provides the exam registration schedule and eligibility criteria. Students should go through this document thoroughly for the application fees, last date of application, exam day, etc. The notification will be available in the PDF format.
AILET merit list includes the details such as candidates registration number, candidate's name, category, and all India Rank. The merit list document also mentions the last date before which candidates will have to pay the admission fee and reserve their seat. The candidature stands cancelled if the fee is not paid within the deadline.
PhD Eligibility - Candidates should have completed a master's degree in law with a B grade or 55% marks.
All the NLUs in India except for NLU Delhi offer admission to UG and PG courses on the basis of the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) score. For PhD courses, each NLU conducts it own all India PhD entrance test or through the University Grants Commission's National Eligibility Test (UGC NET)/ Junior Research Fellowship (JRF).
NLU Delhi conducts its own entrance examination known as the All India Law Entrance Test (AILET) through which it also admits candidates in PhD law courses.

AILET exam is conducted for admission to the 5-year integrated courses and LLM courses offered at the National Law University Delhi. Aspiring candidates will have to register for the entrance exam before the last date to sit for the exam. However, candidates must furnish the eligibility criteria to be finally called for the AILET counselling.
