Courses offered by NLUs: The National Law Universities formed the Consortium of NLUs to select the candidates for the Law Courses offered by them. Candidates need to fill the CLAT registration form to participate in the exam process. The NLUs offer various specialisations within the integrated 5-year Law Courses. Candidates passing out of NLUs have a law degree with in-depth knowledge of the subject chosen in the integrated course. The Consortium of NLUs released the CLAT 2027 registration form on August 19 on its official portal. Candidates can fill the CLAT application form to participate in CLAT 2027. As per the official schedule, the CLAT 2027 exam date is December 6.

The National Law Universities (NLUs) are among the most reputed law institutions in India, making admission to these colleges highly competitive. For aspirants exploring NLUs for the first time, this article provides a well-researched overview of all the courses offered across NLUs in India. At present, there are 25 NLUs offering law programmes at the undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral (PhD) levels. The CLAT PG Exam will be held for duration of two hours; i.e. from 2 pm to 4 pm. Candidates have to answer 120 questions in the given time frame. The scores of CLAT LLM 2027 score will be accepted by 19 NLUs in the country.
A good rank in the CLAT exam for general category students is under 1,000–1,500 to secure admission in top-tier National Law Universities (NLUs). A rank under 500 is considered excellent for the top 5 NLUs, while a rank up to 3,000–5,000 can still secure a seat in newer, mid-tier NLUs.
As of 2026, 26 National Law Universities (NLUs) participate in the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT). These universities offer undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) law programs, with over 5,600 seats available in total. NLU Delhi is the only exception, conducting its own entrance exam (AILET) rather than participating in CLAT

The CLAT Exam is conducted by consortiumofnlus.ac.in. All those candidates who are looking forward to getting admission at NLUs must appear for the exam. Apart from NLU Delhi, admission to all the NLUs are done through CLAT.
The mode of the CLAT exam is offline or paper-based mode. Candidates are handed over hardcopy of CLAT question paper and OMR sheets to answer the questions. Candidates will have to be careful while filling OMR sheet as any scratch or cuts in the OMR sheet will lead to disqualification.

NLU Courses Eligibility Criteria
UG Eligibility - Candidates seeking admissions to the five-year integrated LLB courses at NLUs have to fulfil the eligibility criteria as under:
- They must have passed Class 12th or equivalent examination with 45% marks if belonging to General/ OBC/ PWD/ NRI/ OCI categories and, 40% marks if belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC)/ Scheduled Tribes (ST).
- Those appearing for the qualifying examination are also eligible to apply, however, they should submit the proof of qualification at the time of seat allotment and final admission.
PG Eligibility - Candidates should have completed a three-year or five-year LLB degree with at least 50% marks (45% marks if belonging to SC/ST categories). Those who are appearing for the final semester examination or awaiting results are also eligible to apply.
PhD Eligibility - Candidates should have completed a master's degree in law with a B grade or 55% marks.
All the NLUs in India except for NLU Delhi offer admission to UG and PG courses on the basis of the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) score. For PhD courses, each NLU conducts it own all India PhD entrance test or through the University Grants Commission's National Eligibility Test (UGC NET)/ Junior Research Fellowship (JRF).
NLU Delhi conducts its own entrance examination known as the All India Law Entrance Test (AILET) through which it also admits candidates in PhD law courses.

Yes, for some of them. Bahra lists scholarships based on JEE Main marks and CLAT rank, along with BUSET, CAT, MAT, and CUET percentile scores. I am not sure about NEET, so confirm that with the admissions office.

No you don't need to memorise every section. Focus on important concepts key provisions definitions and CLAT style application questions. Understanding legal principles is more important than memorising section numbers.
