
PU CET UG 2025 Counselling process is underway. The online registration for the PU CET UG 2025 counselling process last date was June 24, 2025.
PU CET UG 2025 First Tentative Merit list was released on the official website on 4 July 2025. Candidates also get the opportunity to raise objections regarding the tentative merit list on the basis of already filled-up information by the candidate. PU CET UG 2025 provisional merit list will be displayed on July 14, 2025.
Counselling is subject to the availability of seats in each category at the time of counselling. Counselling will cease immediately after all seats are filled up. The candidates who are satisfied with their present department and do not want to shift, may not attend the counselling. Candidates are required to bring the Counselling Form on the day of Counselling, which can be downloaded from their Account.

Commonly asked questions
If you receive an allotment in Round 1, you must report to the allotted department on campus during the prescribed dates and bring all the important documents. You will also need to pay the admission and departmental fees immediately. The rules state that fee collection will happen “on the spot” by bank draft or online means. (Candidates must prepare drafts for registration fees, admission fee, and any department fund as instructed. After successful verification and fee payment, the department will confirm your admission. Note that once you accept Round 1 seat and pay fees, you may or may not be eligible to switch in Round 2 – the official guidelines do not explicitly clarify upgradation, so seek advice from the admission authorities if needed.
Candidates allotted a seat in Round 2 must report to their allotted department on July 23–24, 2025. Again, bring all original documents and pay the required fees immediately (using bank drafts or online payment as per the university's instructions. Reporting for Round 2 similarly finalizes your admission. If you had a seat in Round 1 and opted out, be aware that failure to report by these dates can result in loss of admission.

Merit List for Physical Counselling
Once the online counselling is concluded, the University will release a merit list for Physical counselling. Candidates can check their names by visiting the official website of Panjab University. Candidates need to follow the below-mentioned steps to see if they have made it to the physical counselling or not:
Step 1: The candidate will have to visit the official website of Panjab University.
Step 2: The candidate will have to click on the ‘Merit List (for Physical Counselling)’ under the main menu
Step 3: On clicking the link, the candidate will be able to see a list of courses with different categories.
Step 4: The candidate needs to look for the course to which he/she has applied, and the category to which he/she belongs.
Step 5: On clicking the link, a merit list of candidates will appear on the screen. The merit list will constitute of the following components:
- PU CET (UG) 2025 Rank
- PU CET (UG) 2025 Roll Number
- Candidate name
- Total merit marks
- PU CET (UG) 2025 marks
Candidates who fail to be present in person for the physical counselling will not be considered for admission to the courses offered by the University.
Commonly asked questions
Physical counseling is open mainly to candidates who did not get a seat in the online rounds or to fill reserved seats still vacant. In practice (as in previous years), the first day (s) may focus on General category candidates without seats, and subsequent days on remaining reserved category candidates. You attend in person at the designated venue (Panjab University, Chandigarh) with your documents and payment. The counselors will re-check your rank and choices, and offer available seats department by department. Once seats are offered, you must confirm and pay immediately. The rules specify a special provision: Indian National Math Olympiad (INMO) awardees can join the B.Sc (Hons.) Mathematics programme without appearing in the PU CET (UG) entrance test. These INMO-qualified students get admission directly, filling additional seats above the normal seat matrix. This means if you have an INMO medal, you are eligible for Math (Hons) directly under this policy.
Documents required at time of Counselling
Candidates must also make sure that they carry the required documents to the counselling. Candidates are required to carry the following documents:

- PU-CET (UG) 2025 admit card
- Mark-sheet of class 10
- Mark-sheet of class 12
- School Leaving/ Transfer Certificate
- Migration Certificate
- Category Certificate (if applicable)

After considering all objections, the provisional merit list (essentially the final ranked list of qualified candidates) is released. For 2025, PU CET (UG) provisional merit list was published on July 14, 2025 (evening). This date coincides with the first round of seat allocation (see next section). In practice, once the provisional list is out, it is treated as final for allotment purposes. All candidates whose names appear on that list are eligible for the next step of counseling and seat allotment.
