PU CET UG 2025 Provisional merit list was released on the official website on July 14, 2025. On the same day, the exam officials published the PU CET UG 2025 first seat allocation list. Selected candidates for the courses offered were needed to report to the respective departments between July 15, 2025, and July 17, 2025.

Candidates must visit the official website to check out the  Provisional Merit List for Physical Counselling, subject to eligibility and verification of original documents based on CET Marks and data/objections provided by Candidates for Admission to B.Pharm., BSc. (Hons.) courses.

As per PU CET UG 2025 counselling dates, based on the availability of seats in the next round, the exam official released PU CET UG 2025 Second seat allotment list/ 2nd counselling round on July 22, 2025. The starting date for teaching classes was July 25, 2025. The scheduled date for the physical counselling for all the selected candidates was August 6, 2025.

What is PU CET (UG)?

Panjab University Common Entrance Test (PU CET) is conducted by Panjab University, Chandigarh in order to offer candidates admission in BSc (Hons) and pharmacy courses in the varsity. The PU CET is a university-level entrance exam that is conducted once a year. The entrance exam is held in offline mode (pen & paper test) and aspirants need to meet the eligibility criteria in order to appear for the entrance exam and apply for admission. For the BSc (Hons.) under the framework of Hons. School System (4 Years Programme as per NEP-2020) and BPharmacy admissions, the final merit will be prepared on the basis of merit consisting of three components (i) CET merit with weightage 75 %, (ii) 10+2 or its equivalent examination merit with weightage 25 %, and (iii) over and above weightage of NCC, NSS, etc.

Q:   What is the format of the PU CET (UG) exam, and what types of questions can candidates expect?
A: 

Depending on the program they have registered for, candidates can choose the subjects they want to take. 

Each section of the exam consists of 60 multiple choice questions. Each section must be completed in 70 minutes. There is negative marking for incorrect answers, and each wrong answer will result in a deduction of 0.5 marks. 

The types of questions asked in the PU CET UG exam are based on the syllabuses of the subjects concerned for Class 12. The questions are to test the candidate's understanding of the basic concepts and principles of the subject.

PU CET 2025 Admission Process

Step 1: Registration

The candidates will have to first register online on the official website of the university in order to apply for PU CET 2025. The candidate can then enter their personal details such as name, email ID and mobile number.

Step 2: Fill in the Application form

Candidates willing to appear for PU-CET (UG) 2025 need to fill the application form first. Candidates must note that the application form must be filled and submitted before the deadline. Candidates could choose to pay the application fee via Net Banking/Credit Card/ Debit Card/ Demand Draft. 

Step 3: Download PU-CET (UG) 2025 Admit Card

Registered candidates will be eligible to download admit cards, which will be an important document that needs to be carried to the exam centre. The admit card will be available online and test-takers can download the same from the official website of Panjab University.

Step 4: Appear for PU-CET (UG) 2025

The exam will be conducted in the second week of May, 2025 tentatively. The Test will conducted for the subjects of Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, and Biology. 

Step 5: Check PU-CET (UG) 2025 Result

The result of the exam will be declared online, and test-takers can check their scorecards by visiting the official website of Panjab University. The result can be expected within a week from the date of examination. 

Step 6: Counselling

Test-takers who clear the exam will be required to attend the counselling round. It is mandatory for the candidate to be present in person for the counselling. Also, carrying the required documents at the time of counselling is a must.

PU CTE UG Result 2025

PU CET UG Result 2025 was released by the examination conducting body on May 23, 2025. The exam official compiles the results based on the objections raised by the candidates and corrections made in the PUCET UG 2025 provisional answer key. Before the release of the PU CET UG 2025 results, the exam body releases the PU CET UG 2025 final answer key on its official website. No corrections will be made to the released final answer key.

A: 

 Documents required at the time of counseling:
(i) Physical Counseling Form (2 copies) to be downloaded from your login account.
(ii) Admission Form (2 copies) to be downloaded from your login account.

Q:   What is the reservation criteria for the seats offered through PU CET (UG) 2026 exam?
A: 

Admission in all categories shall be made subject to fulfilment of the eligibility conditions and in accordance with the provisions contained in the Handbook of Information and Rules for Admission, 2026.

1) 53.5% of the seats in each course shall be treated as belonging to the General Category.
2) 46.5% of seats shall be treated as belonging to the Reserved Category, as per the details given below:
(i) 15% for candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes.
(ii) 7.5% for candidates belonging to the Scheduled Tribes.
(iii) 5% for candidates belonging to the Backward Classes 

Q:   When will be PU CET UG 2026 results announced?
A: 

 PU CET UG 2026 results will be announced in the fourth week of May 2026. Candidates who had participated for the PUCET UG 2026 exam can check their Panjab University result.

Q:   Who all are ineligible to appear in PU CET (UG) examination?
A: 
  • The candidates who have passed/appeared in 10+2 Examinations of Mahila Gram Vidyapith, Allahabad are ineligible to appear in the PU – CET (U.G.) Entrance Test, as this institution has been derecognised by Panjab University, Chandigarh. The examination conducted by the Board of Higher Secondary Education, Delhi, included in the booklet of recognised exams, has also been deleted from the Booklet. 
  • The candidates having compartment in 10+2 examination held in March-2023 will not be eligible for admission in the course. The candidates who do not appear in PU – CET (U.G.) Entrance Test or who do not qualify PU – CET (U.G.) Entrance Test shall not be considered for the admission.
