A genuine opinion about Pondicherry University.

Placements: Placements are comparatively fewer than at other institutes. Placements are mostly available for PG courses. I guess there have been no placements for our course till now. For PG courses in our department, I guess placements are available. For UG, especially our course and B.Tech, no placements are there, I guess. Students get internships as a part of their syllabus. But even then, we have to find ourselves.

Infrastructure: The course/department has all facilities. Computer labs, library, and Wi-Fi are available. There are properly functioning classrooms. Smart boards and projectors are available in some classrooms. The hostel is okay. Three people stay in one room. Food quality is not that good in the mess. Canteens are available with a little good food. For medical facilities, a health centre is there with basic facilities. That's not up to the mark. For sports and games, all types of grounds are available.

Faculty: Teachers are qualified and helpful. Some are strict. Some are nice. Teaching quality is okayish. Some teach well. The course curriculum is not that relevant. Some papers are not at all relevant. Semester exams are easy. They are not that tough for our course and department, I guess. The pass percentage is high, I guess.

Other: I chose this course because I am a little tech freak, and I hope this has more opportunities in the future. If topics are changed and more relevant topics are added, the course would be better. There aren't many events here. But the campus is crowded, and socially we can connect more. There are more opportunities for extracurricular activities.

Good infrastructure, nice teaching quality from faculty members, and good facilities are available.

Placements: The percentage of students placed in my course was 80 to 90%. Students were placed in higher companies with better packages. The highest average package in my course was 6-8 LPA. The lower average package was 2.5 to 3 LPA. The top recruiting companies for my course were TCS, Infosys, Wipro, and IBM. Around 45-50% of students got internships from my course in companies like Infosys and Wipro. The top roles offered in the companies were IT Analyst, Technical Support Engineer, and Software Developer.

Infrastructure: Facilities and infrastructure available in my department were very good. Wi-Fi was available at a very high speed with good strength. Labs were very neat and clean, with a peaceful environment. The classrooms had good infrastructure and digital blackboards for better understanding of the students. The library had sufficient books and many computers for the students. The quality of facilities available in the hostel was very good. The quality of the food in the mess and canteen was very nice. Good medical facilities were available. Sports and games were also played annually.

Faculty: Teachers were very helpful. They were highly qualified, with Ph.D. and Master's degrees in relevant subjects. They were very knowledgeable. The teaching quality was very good. The teaching methods were also good, with experienced teachers. The course curriculum was relevant. It made students ready through practical and interactive sessions between teachers and students. The semester exams in this college were not very hard. The pass percentage of students was 55-60%.

Other: I chose this course because I was interested in computer work and computer knowledge. The best thing about my course was that it provided practical knowledge and good skills through regular work on computers to get better placements. The things that could be better in my course were skills and knowledge of computers to get higher packages at companies. The events, fests, campus crowd, and connectivity were very good. The surroundings were very beautiful. Scholarships were given to students. Extracurricular activities were also organized every year.

The college offers a good education.

Placements: Nearly 70 percent of students got placed in IT roles. The highest package is 15 LPA, while the lowest package is 3 LPA. The top recruiting companies include Microsoft, Google, and Infosys. The top roles are data engineer and full-stack developer. 60 percent of students got internships.

Infrastructure: Our college classrooms are well advanced. The library is good, with a vibrant range of books, and the collection is good. The classrooms are good. We have highly advanced computer labs with Wi-Fi connectivity. Hostel food is good. Every week there is one sports period. The medical facilities are good.

Faculty: Teachers are qualified and knowledgeable. They are helpful. They are Ph.D. graduates and they explain concepts practically. The teaching quality is very good. The curriculum is relevant and it prepares students for the industry. The semester examinations are not as difficult. The pass percentage is 65 percent.

Placements: Compared with all the engineering colleges near Pondicherry and Tamil Nadu, our college gives better placement results than many other colleges. However, the overall placement result is only moderate. The college mainly aims to prepare students for TCS placements, as if it is the only company in the country. I think the placement support and preparation are poor due to a lack of updated knowledge about current industry requirements.

Infrastructure: There are three canteens and a food court. Students can also order food from nearby hotels using online food delivery apps.

Faculty: Teachers are more casual. They are not fear about portion completion, examinations, or students' performance. They do not share notes properly with students. If students ask for notes before exams, teachers usually share one or two downloaded notes just a few days before the exams in a careless manner.

Other: This is one campus with all the courses in the city of Pondicherry. It is well known and easily recognized by the people of Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry. Cultural events are conducted twice a year by inviting top celebrities in a grand manner. This campus is exclusively for Engineering and MCA courses, and there are two other branches of the college in Pondicherry offering other courses.

This university is improving placement in the technology field, there are many international MOUs.

Placements: In my course, there is no batch passout. The course starts in 2024, and we are the second batch. This course is basically good for both technical and business fields. Our course is an integrated B.Tech + MBA. At Pondicherry University, the average placement is 6 LPA.

Infrastructure: There is a 24/7 library with Wi-Fi and washroom facilities. Facilities are good at Pondicherry University. For B.Tech + MBA, classrooms are good, it feels like an IIT classroom. In the classroom, there is Wi-Fi, AC, and a projector facility. Hostel facilities are good; in the hostel, a 24/7 guard is present. Water coolers and Wi-Fi are available. For playing sports, there is a stadium here.

Faculty: All faculty members are doctoral degree holders and have extensive knowledge in their field. Faculty members are friendly, and they help with hackathons and many other competitions. For B.Tech + MBA, the curriculum is designed by TCS, and it's good. In the curriculum, we have internship opportunities, and after completing the internship, we get 10 credits. Semester exams are moderate, and many students get 9.5+ CGPA. There is a 75% attendance mandatory requirement.

Other: I chose this course because in B.Tech + MBA, I will get technical and management knowledge, and it's good for the upcoming technology world. In the course, there is no need for improvement, but this college is situated in the South, so there is a language issue for those who don't know English. There are a lot of college fests like Akansha, Holi, Pongal, Onam, etc.

Great infrastructure, peaceful environment, diverse exposure, and moderate placement opportunities.

Placements: As we are the 2nd batch in the B.Teach CSE, there is no record of placement. In affiliated colleges, the highest package is 25-30 LPA, and the median package is 6 LPA. Currently, Zoho is visiting our college. For placement, there is no idea which companies will visit, but due to the good location, there is a good chance of visiting companies. Currently, during this time, the 2nd year students are just applying for internships. The top roles that are offered in my college are MBA and Banking Technology. As Computer Science is new, its hive is smaller.

Infrastructure: As Computer Science is new in my college, it is growing. Wi-Fi facilities are good on campus; the campus has its own Wi-Fi, and classrooms and libraries are also 4.5-star rated. Labs are there, but the labs are old. Hostel and mess facilities are very good, and proper medical facilities are also provided by the university.

Faculty: Teachers are helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. The teaching quality is not too tough, but they teach linearly. According to me, it's perfect. The semester exams are not too difficult. Mainly, the exams are fixed so that everyone can answer the questions, meaning the paper is between normal and tough. There is a 99% passing percentage. 99% passing percentage.

Other: I opted for this course because its location is good, and there is an environment of study with not too much crowding. The best thing is that we have faculty of a different type. Their teaching style is very different. Monthly events and festivals are always held in our college. The college provides mainly scholarships to the Puducherry students.
