Glimpse of Pondicherry University.
Placements: The percentage of students who get placed in this integrated course is about 50-60%. The salary offered in the course is Rs. 30,000 per month as I have heard. Top recruiting companies are TCS, Infosys, and Amazon. The internships we get are from IITs all over India. Internships are for 3 months duration time. The top roles offered are data analyst, IT, and software engineer.
Infrastructure: Facilities like labs are available for various domains like network lab, done lab, etc. Wi-Fi is available all over the campus. Especially in our department, we have separate Wi-Fi connections for each floor. We also have classrooms with smart boards, seminar halls for various kinds of seminars and we have a large library on our campus. Anandha Rangapillai Library has a wide range of books of various genres. But the mess food is not good quality. We have canteens in and out of the mess. For the medical facilities, we have an ambulance and a health center. We have various kinds of sports.
Faculty: Teachers are well-qualified and educated. Faculty members teach very well. The course curriculum is relevant and it makes students industry-ready. Semester exams are easy if we prepare well. We have semester exams per 6 months. The pass percentage is 50%. The attendance percentage is important to write the semester exams. The results are also declared within 2 weeks.
Other: I chose this course because this is an integrated course with the computer science branch. The best thing is we can learn more in-depth core of this computer science branch. We can get more skills. The improvement I need in my course is more internships and placements for students. The university has lots of events and fests like Akansha, hackathons, marathons, etc. The campus has various kinds of students from all parts of India, so we can socialise with everyone and get to know everyone easily. Scholarships are provided on the basis of CGPA per semester. There are a wide range of extracurricular activities to get into.

Good infrastructure but let down by poor placements.
Placements: No students in my batch have yet been placed. No packages have been offered. TCS and Infosys are the main recruiters for the integrated M.Sc. in computer science course at Pondicherry University. Around 3% of students got internships from course at Cognizant. Top roles offered in my course are full-stack developer, software engineer, data scientist, etc.
Infrastructure: Our college has 24X7 high-speed Wi-Fi connectivity in both department and hostel. Infact, the entire university has Wi-Fi coverage so connectivity is not an issue. Additionally, there is the library and the library annexe, reading room, where facilities are available for ethernet cables which you can connect to your laptops for extra network speed. The reading room is fully covered by AC so no need to worry about your device eating up. Hostel rooms are moderately spacious with enough space for luggage and necessary ports for charging and two fans. The quality of food in the mess leaves a lot to be desired as sometimes worms or insects are found in the food. Canteen are available until 12:00 PM and offer good food at a cheap price. There is a health center for normal health issues and an ambulance for severe issues. There are basketball court, tennis court, football, and cricket grounds available. Hockey court is also available.
Faculty: The teaching quality is not up to par, as most faculty do not take classes themselves. Rather, they leave it to their scholars. Teachers are technically qualified but I personally do not find them knowledgeable or helpful. The curriculum is upto date but it doesn't make students industry-ready as it's more theory-focused. Semester exams are not that difficult, though they vary greatly from subject to subject. The pass percentage is 16% in internals and 24% in externals.
Other: I chose this course because I am interested in computer science and wanted a master's in computer science. The best thing about my course is how broad it is. That is, it covers a wide range of fields in CS. I wish the course were more practical-focused, that would be a great improvement. There's always an event or festival going on on the campus, and the campus crowd is active and energetic.

Review of Pondicherry University.
Placements: The university is prestigious, and for those looking to study Computer Science, it is indeed a good college. You're given a good syllabus, but I can't guarantee that you will understand it well (you won't be taught properly). If you have the courage to explore, you will find more opportunities. The placements are relatively low, but if you think ahead, you will get good placements and good jobs.
Infrastructure: The seminar halls have AC in them. So does the library and reading room (they are NOT open 24/7). The computer labs are good and are equipped with Ethernet cables. Moreover, there is Wi-Fi. The library is also well-equipped and resourceful. The food, however, is not good at all. There have been reports of bugs and whatnot in the mess, but it's adjustable. The food outside is not bad when you compare it to the mess. Since Pondicherry is a tourist place, the further you go, the more you can explore. The medical facilities *** but if you really want good and free healthcare, you can head over to JIPMER by riding a bus. Activities happen every day like sports, events, gatherings, etc. You just have to look out for them.
Faculty: So far, very few are helpful when it comes to teaching, but I love the curriculum that they have framed. Even though we are pursuing a B.Sc. degree, I believe that in four years, if we utilize our skills, we can make it. Since I have just finished my first semester and am on my way to my second, the pass percentage I believe is near 50. But like 99.9 percent of the people have passed all subjects.
Other: If you love to have a good campus life, come here. There is no curfew. You are as free as a bird, but you must remember that you are responsible for your actions. Try to join in as many events as possible and not just attend class (all you need is a 70 percent to pass so just keep that in mind). Attend seminars (sometimes you get professors from America) which usually happen in the auditorium. Since Pondicherry is a union territory, there isn't much political activity as compared to the northern sides, but there is a bit.

Realm of quality education. There is an advanced health centre with emergency services.
Placements: Only integrated courses are available for UG. Otherwise all courses ar PG. Each course has its own buildings and departments will full facilities. Almost students are getting internships in different organisations/companies like IIRS, ISRO but as per performance in college.
Infrastructure: There are separate hostels for UG, PG and Research scholars. Rooms are Spacious. You will get 24 hours electricity with power backup. Free Wi-Fi connection is there in each hostel and buildings. Mostly you will get South Indian food in mess. There is an advanced health centre with emergency services. Different courts, playgrounds are there. You may play any games/sports at any time.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful, qualified and knowledgeable. But sometimes you may face an issue regarding teaching quality. They prefer English as a mode of teaching. First three years course curriculum is not relevant to industrial use. But somehow these concepts and teaching really matter.
Other: Peaceful and green campus, 24 Hours electricity with power backup, Wi-Fi enabled buildings and hostel. You may get a scholarship from the university as per your performance.

Would always love to return to college life!
Placements: There is no such placements for M.Sc, students. Most of the placements are offered from M Tech and MCA departments. There was one student who got into ZOHO from M.Sc, and no other companies let our college students participate in placements. There is a dedicated placement cell in the university which works hard for placements.
Infrastructure: The whole campus is Wi-Fi enabled. There are more than enough classrooms and well-equipped ones. There's a vast library and a second one was under construction when I left in 2014. There are a 24x7 Medical facility and a standby ambulance in the campus for emergency service. There is one cricket field, two football fields, one 400m track, one open area, two tennis courts, and one basketball court etc. There's a fully equipped gym at minimal cost, and they have well-equipped labs, 3 in total, two are unusual, and one is familiar. The library has many computers which students can access, mostly installed with Red Hat Linux.
Faculty: Most of the faculty members are well qualified, except some as there is reservation here too. There is a good culture of research, and the most professors have a good number of publications in well-known journals. A lot of seminars and workshops by eminent people takes place. I met Nobel Laureate Professor Michael Berry here and many other national and international personalities.
Other: There's a lot of societies, and every department organizes competitions throughout the year. A lot of events take place every year in the college. There are over 5000 students in the campus, more than 2000 are hostlers. There's a hostel day event which is organized and celebrated too. There is a frequent bus service and battery cars for the commute. The beach is just a km walk from the entrance gate. The Pondicherry town is around 14 km away, but travelling by bus or auto takes only 25 minutes, fast transport. There is a scholarship facility, and I used to get one for first three years scholarship.
