It's an average university with poor infrastructure, good teachers and poor transportation facility.
Placements: The university has a vast number of courses, and I am from the department of chemistry. The total intake capacity is 34. Companies like Cipla and Himalaya visit our campus for placements, but from the last 3 years, there were no direct placements. The initial salary package offered was 2 LPA and the highest salary package offered was 6 LPA.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is average, but it has an area of about 302 acres which is quite big. The university is lush green and is surrounded by hills all around. The campus is on the hills. The university has all the necessary facility like Wi-Fi all around the campus. Classrooms are equipped with all the necessary facilities. The speed of the internet is very fast, and every student of the university is provided with their own Wi-Fi password. The university has well-equipped labs with all the modern instruments. There is a projector in one of our classroom. There is also a well-developed computer lab in every department. There is also a huge central library in which almost all the necessary books are available. There are 5 hostels for boys and 4 for girls. The infrastructure of the hostels are big and have Wi-Fi connectivity. There is a big TV in the dining halls of each hostel. Quality of food is quite good, but the canteen should be improved. The cost of food is very high. Medical facilities are not that good, but there is a pharmacy inside the campus. Students are very active in games and sports. There is a football field, a basketball field and an indoor stadium. Games like badminton and football are played mostly.
Faculty: In the department of chemistry, the teachers are good, and they teach in the best way possible. Teachers are highly qualified, very friendly, polite and treat students in a very gentle manner. Teaching is very good. The course curriculum is highly relevant. Due to regular practical classes, students get industry-ready.
Other: I have chosen this course because I have an interest in chemistry since the 11th class. I like the subject very much, and I did my graduation in chemistry, so I have chosen it to do masters. The best thing about our course is it happens in our day to day life, but we don't observe it. In chemistry, we study about things which we can watch and feel but can't understand it. Everything is perfect in the course of M.Sc chemistry. Different events take place often because students union are very active and initiative. Various subjects are included in the events, and some of them are very entertaining. There are two-three fests conducted in a year, and each fest lasts for 3-4 days. The campus is not much crowded, but the whole environment is very good. Students can apply for a scholarship from state and central government funds. Games and sports are the main extracurricular activities. Music and dancing do not have many facilities.
