SKUAST Jammu Admission Process 2025
SUKAST admission is based on SKUAST J-CET (SKUAST Jammu common entrance test) conducted by the university. Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agriculture Science and Technology (SKUAST) Jammu is a state University, accredited by the National Agricultural Education Accreditation Board, ICAR. The university offers UG, PG, diploma, certificate, and doctoral degrees in Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, and Veterinary Science. The University has four departments that offer 67 courses.
SKUAST Jammu Admission 2025: Highlights
SKUAST Jammu admits students of UG and PG based on an entrance test conducted by SKUAST Jammu called SKUAST J-CET. Another way to take admission in SKUAST is through the CUET test for free seats only. The entrance test is mandatory for all students except self-finance or students allotted seats by the state government. Few in-service students are nominated by the state govt. on free seats. SKUAST Jammu Admission 2025: Eligibility & Selection
SKUAST offers courses at UG, PG and doctoral levels. Candidates need to meet the eligibility criteria set for the applied programme. The basic eligibility is Class 12 for UG courses whereas graduation is required for PG programmes. Below are SKUAST courses along with their eligibility and selection criteria:

SKUAST Jammu Fees & Seats 2025
SKUAST total fee includes multiple components such as admission fee, tuition fee, examination, caution deposit, etc. Some of the fee components are one-time payable at the time of admission. While aspirants need to pay tuition fees every semester. Below are SKUAST fee and intake:

Steps for SKUAST Jammu Admission Process 2025
SKUAST conducts its own entrance exam for admission to UG and PG courses. Besides, aspirants also need to fulfil the course-specific eligibility requirements for admission. Below are the steps to get a seat in SKUAST Jammu:
STEP 1: SKUAST Jammu Application Process 2025
Candidates meeting the eligibility criteria can apply online for the preferred course. Aspirants need to fill out the form and pay an application fee of INR 2,000 for UG and INR 2,500 for PG programmes.
STEP 2: Selection
SKUAST shortlists candidates for UG and PG courses based on SKUAST-CET score. Admission to the seats under the ICAR quota will be made on the basic list provided by ICAR via All India Counselling by ICAR after CUET.
STEP 3: Merit List and Counselling
Once the selection rounds is over, the university releases a category-wise merit list. All the selections made by the university to UG and PG courses is provisional till final verification of eligibility of the candidates. Qualified aspirants, as per merit, are called for counselling on a specified date and time for consideration of admission to various courses. Selected aspirants have to pay a course fee to confirm their seat in the university.

SKUAST Jammu does not offer direct admission. Aspirants first need to fill out the application form for the preferred course and then appear for SKUAST-J CET conducted by the university. SKUAST-J CET for UG courses is offered for a duration of three-years. For PG courses, the duration is two and a half year. Once the selection round is completed, the university releases a category-wise merit list. Shortlisted aspirants have to pay a course fee to confirm their seat in the university.
Yes, SKUAST Jammu conducts SKUAST-J Common Entrance Test for admission to UG, PG and PhD courses. It is a three-year exam for UG and two and a half year exam for PG courses. The paper for UG courses contains 180 multiple choice questions with each carrying on mark. In PG, the exam paper have 150 questions each with four options.
SKUAST accepts UG, PG and PhD students on the basis of valid scores in SKUAST J CET exam. Aspirants applying through ICAT Quota are offered seats through All India Counselling by ICAR after CUET. Admission under VCI Quota is offered through NEET based on the list provided by VCI via their counselling portal.
SKUAST Jammu BSc (Hons) Admission 2025
SKJUST offers a three-year BSc (Hons) programme in Agriculture and Horticulture specialisations. Candidates need to pass a minimum of Class 12 or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology or PCM or PCMB or Agriculture with English with at least 50% aggregate (40% aggregate for reserved category) to apply for BSc (Hons) course. The selection for BSc (Hons) is based on SKUAST-J CET. Admission for free or self-financing seats in ICAR quota is through All India Counselling by ICAR after CUET conducted by NTA.

SKUAST Jammu has a total intake of 176. Candidates are offered seat in BSc (Hons) based on SKUSAT-J CET score. Selected aspirants need to participate in SKUAST Counselling round. Candidates need to bring the specified documents for verification. Once the seat is allotted, aspirants have to pay a course fee to confirm their seat in the university.
Aspirants seeking admission to SKUAST BSc (Hons) must complete Class 12 or an equivalent examination from a recognised board with PCB/ PCM/ PCBM/ Agriculture (with Science subjects), besides English with 50% aggregate for OM, NRI/ NRI-sponsored category. The aggregate required is 40% for reserved categories. SKUAST Jammu offers two-year MSc course at the PG level. The university offers MSc in Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry and Agricultural Engineering. Candidates who have passed a bachelor's degree in related subjects with at least 60% aggregate (55% aggregate for reserved category) can apply. The university also offers MSc in Basic Sciences.
