B.Tech. in Automobile Engineering - Batch of 2018

Absolutely dissatisfied because of placements.
Placements: Only one student among the batch of 40 students was placed. No proper placements for automobile and mechanical department. Very less companies visited for these two steams and for placements you have to go to Chennai and there also you don't get placed. Yes there is placement cell and its not useful at all, placement coordinated is not able to bring companies to college.
Infrastructure: No proper automobile and mechanical labs, if u are taking admission in CSE then its okay, or else no. No proper sports area, old infrastructure, hostel are compact and way too costly. Hostel food is not good at all. Hostel Wi-Fi works at very slow speed, no medical facility at all, only one ambulance is there that takes you to some hospital in Modinagar.
Faculty: Teachers are good and helping but what can they do if curriculum is so bad, teachers have knowledge about there subjects and can help you alot. Teaching quality is okay, proper instruments if provided by management then there shall be no problem. No industry exposure at all especially for automobile and mechanical department, in four years of B.Tech no industrial trip was organised for us.
Other: One event takes place every two years that is also not good at all, mess food is served in that also, no proper surroundings and connectivity issues remain constant.

Moderately good college but it is not worth the money they are charging as fees.
Placements: As of now I am in third year and I haven't been placed in any company. I would be going for placements in 4th year. There is a problem that companies don't come here in NCR campus for recruiting freshers. We need to go to the Chennai campus for placements. They provide food and shelter over there in Chennai. I was in touch of my seniors and I got to know that overall the placement is good but for my branch I. e. automobile the placement is not in par with other branches like CSE or IT etc. Even if placement is offered its not from the core company and it is from the mass recruiters like wipro or tcs etc. So you can have placements if you are from CSE or some similar branch but for other branches its difficult although some of my seniors got placed in core companies like mahindra and maruti. The average package for mass recruiters is somewhere around 3 lacs per annum but for core company it can be in the 6 lac bracket The placement hugely depends upon the talent of the candidate. However there is a proper placement cell in the campus which helps in placement activities. The placement is based on 3-4 filters like written test>GD>PI etc. Overall the placement is good.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is good in the college. There are all the basic facilities available in the campus like the campus is fully Wi-Fi along with labs, classes and hostels. Classrooms are of various different types like there are smart classes along with normal classes in various size. It depends upon the type of branch, no. Of students types of requirements etc. Library is good. It contains all the necessary books required for B.Tech you can issue as many books you want for a period of 15 days, after that you will be fined or you need to renew the issued book. Medical facilities are on the wrong side. I did not found the proper medical facilities in the college campus, however it does have a doctor with very bacic medical facility. Also there is a doctor in hostel Sports and games facility is good. You can issue any sport equipment from sport room just like library and play in the playground Canteen is not very good its just basic canteen where basic food items are available and its not a good place to be in. It ony sells patties lays kurkure soft drinks etc. Also there is no place to sit There are some good cafeterias and restaurants outside the main GATE where you can hangout and buy food Hostel is not very good. I took hostel in first year as my parents did not thought of outside as a safe place to live alone for the first time. The food is moderate but rooms are pathetic. They alot the same room to 4 students with 2 storeys B.Ed and stair mounted on B.Ed. Its just very problematic to live in a small room with two double dekker B.Ed accommodating 4 persons. I got a single room with one B.Ed cubbord and table chair along with a private bathroom for way less money. So its just the hostel isn't worth living in. But for freshers due to safety concerns parents usually prefer hostel.
Faculty: Teachers are good and helpful. The have the knowledge and are qualified enough to teach. The teaching quality is also good. There was one problem that I faced that I being a north indian and because the college main campus is from Chennai (south) there are several south indian faculty members and I was initially having problems understanding them because there pronounciation is different but you have to get along and I overcome the problem soon rest is all good I don't know the exact student to faculty ratio but there are not so many faculty members in the college About the Industry exposure, I didn't got any industry exposure from the college side. Upon request they can give you a letter saying that you are a student of their institution and they allow you to take industry exposure upon your wish etc. Overall it was satisfactory.
Other: Events and fests are held on a regular basis. Different departments organise different fests. Campus crowd is upto the mark Connectivity is not good you would face problem at the night time especially. Train and bus times should be chosen accordingly Campus surrounding is very bad its pathetic there is just villeges nearby.
