Master courses offered by Thapar University are just perfect.

Placements: For ME courses, usually, colleges and universities visit to recruit for the position of assistant professor or lecturer. However, masters students are also allowed to attend the recruitment process conducted by many companies. Companies like TCS, Infosys and IBM, are the mass recruiters of our college (and even for masters students). Companies like Microsoft and DE. Shaw offers hefty salary packages of 15-20 LPA to students. The placement cell has one of the most hardworking employees of the college. They always invite a variety of recruiters for the students throughout the academic session.

Infrastructure: Our college is lush green and spread over 250 acres, and it is located in Patiala. There is an athletic track for residents of the campus, and also a swimming pool is available on the campus. There is a medical room in which doctors available for certain timings throughout the day. The campus has some of the best league of hostels in the country, and J hostel accommodates more than 800 students, which is the best of many hostels. The campus has a Nalanda library which remains open 24x7 and helps the students to gain knowledge whenever they require. The main attraction of our campus is COS, which is the shopping complex-activity and complex-amphitheatre. Usually, convocation is held in this area.

Faculty: Faculty members in our college usually had a PhD degree from prestigious national and international institutions like IITs, NITs, University of Waterloo, etc. The course curriculum has a perfect combination of theoretical and practical subjects required for knowledge and understanding of the subjects. It is also updated according to the industry norms.

Other: Our university has various clubs and communities, which help the students to indulge in extracurricular activities and develop their personality in a better way. The university proudly boasts of its Team Fate which is responsible for fabricating F1 racing car. The team participates in famous competitions every year throughout the world and won many times in the past.

The college has good infrastructure and placements.

Placements: B.Tech placements are very good. Almost 90 percent of the students get placed. For M.Tech, the placements are not good. For the master degree, the placements are nice. For CAD-CAM, the companies come for the placement. Last year, the placements for M.E. CAD-CAM were approximately above 50 percent with different packages, i.e., from 4 lacs per annum to 10 or 22 lacs per annum.

Infrastructure: Infrastructure is quite good. Hostels accommodation is very good. The library is awesome and has almost all the books that are required in good quantity. The labs are very good and have all the equipment which are necessary for the students. Workshops are also good with all required machines.

Faculty: The faculty members are very superior. All the professors or lecturers are awesome and highly qualified. All of them had done at least PhD and also has good experience in teaching. The course curriculum is very good according to what company required or to do PhD after M.Tech.

Good infrastructure, average placements and industry relevancy in course work is average.

Placements: Placements are below average for the mechanical branch. Around 1-2 universities visit every year for academic profiles, while only 2-3 core mechanical companies visit for PGET. The average package offered is 4-5 LPA. The last batch has seen approximately 40-45% students getting placed, which also includes students who got placed in IT companies. Placements here are better than some NITs.

Infrastructure: In terms of connectivity, facilities and extracurricular activities, Thapar is really great. You will find Wi-Fi facility throughout the campus. Food courts, RO water dispensers and clean toilets are within 200 metres of every department. There is one ID for everything, from the library to security check-ins during exams. Hostels are quite costly, but mess facilities are good.

Faculty: The course curriculum changed with our batch. Earlier it used to be 1.5 years of coursework and 6 months of industrial internship/research oriented thesis work. But now the coursework has been reduced to 1 year giving more time for the thesis. Specifically, regarding CAD CAM, the course is aligned within the vicinity of theoretical as well as industrial relevance. Most of the teachers are good. Study load is balanced and apt. The student to teacher ratio is 20:1.

Other: As a part of an ME programme, if you are GATE qualified, you will get a stipend from AICTE. There is no scholarship support from Thapar as such, but you will be appreciated and awarded for good performance.

Other: It is one of the most expensive universities in India, sustaining only because of the placements in graduation. In post-graduation, they just screw you with burden all the time and expect a lot from students with zero effort of their own. There are no placements and no collaboration too. It is the best place to enjoy as you can come here and spend your money lavishly.

Other: It is a good college having a good infrastructure for everything like sports, study, etc. You can't miss too many classes, and the attendance is strict. Teachers are too good and friendly. Students here are extremely friendly and try to enjoy their life to the maximum. There are many places to relax. There is a whole market in the campus. Films are screened occasionally in the auditorium.
