As it's a new branch of UEM, so there are no placements yet, However, as it's with IEM-UEM group, so we hope that it'll give placements.

It has good placements and strict rules.
Placements: Around 80-90 percent of students get placed. The highest package offered is 70 LPA. The average package offered ranges from 5-8 LPA. The lowest package offered is 3 LPA. Top recruiting companies for our course are TCS, Wipro, Cognizant, and Infosys. Roles offered are software developer, system engineer, and data analyst.
Infrastructure: The CSE (AI) department at UEM (Kolkata) has good infrastructure with a Wi-Fi-enabled campus, modern computer labs, and a well-stocked library. Hostel facilities are decent with basic amenities and security. The mess and canteen food quality is good.
Faculty: Teachers are generally helpful and qualified, though quality varies. The course curriculum is industry-relevant with coding and projects. Semester exams are moderately difficult and manageable with study. The pass percentage is 85-90 percent. Many students clear exams easily.
Other: I am from the B.Tech at UEM (Kolkata) course. I chose this course for coding and placements. The best parts are projects and skill development. The campus has good events and connectivity. Improvement is needed in practical exposure and less strict rules.

Master of Computer Applications (MCA) - Batch of 2027

Average UEM student college experience. Everything is of poor quality except the placements.
Placements: In MCA in 2025, almost 58% of students were placed from UEM. Top recruiting companies: TCS, Capgemini, LTI, Mindtree, Cognizant, Wipro, Infosys, PWC, and Genpact. The course offers roles in the AI/ML fields mostly for B.Tech students. MCA/BCA students get decent software development roles (other roles include cloud computing, data science, DevOps, and even web development). The highest package is 27 LPA, the average is 6-7 LPA, and the lowest is 3-4 LPA. 25% of students got internships, primarily in TCS, Wipro, and Infosys.
Infrastructure: The Wi-Fi is password-protected and is only usable by faculty members. Labs, classrooms, and libraries are not up to the mark. Most of the rooms don't even have ACs, not even the labs. The quality of faculty members, compared to other universities, is pretty decent. The quality of food in the mess/canteen is average; nothing special. Medical facilities are also not up to the mark. There is only a medical room where you can go to rest. There are almost no facilities for sports and games. The university doesn't even have a proper ground.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful. All of them are M.Tech qualified, but their teaching style is sometimes very dull, and at times their behaviour can be quite rude. The course curriculum is relevant, and it will make you industry-ready, but self-grinding is much more necessary for this. Semester exams are very difficult. They are almost like IIT-level question papers.
Other: I chose this course to make myself job-ready in IT. MCA is one of the best courses after B.Tech to get placed in IT MNCs at a good package. MCA would have been better if it were 3 years instead of 2 years. Oftentimes, B.Tech students are considered above MCA students, so MCA must strictly acquire science students only. Teach events keep happening all the time. The campus life and crowd are almost NIL. There is almost no campus. There are 3 buildings on the campus, and they charge so much money each semester. There is an SVMCM scholarship to apply for. Extracurricular activities are not that great either.

Honest review as a current student.
Placements: As of 2024, approximately 1,500 students of the CSE course were placed. The top recruiting companies for the CSE course are Cognizant, TCS, Infosys, Capgemini, PwC, etc. The highest package offered is 72 LPA, the lowest is 3 LPA, and the average is 8.48 LPA. Top roles offered are Software Engineering, Software Development, and Consultant.
Infrastructure: For the CSE department, the labs are excellent. Separate computer labs for different computer subjects. Wi-Fi is available on most floors in all of the buildings. Some areas have network jammers to ensure students don't get addicted to their phones while the teacher is teaching. Classrooms are big enough to accommodate at least 100 students. The library is large and has both a study area and a huge selection of study books. Students are allowed to borrow books with their cards. (I live at a PG, not the hostel, so I don't have information about its conditions).
Faculty: Most teachers are excellent in teaching. Aside from a few, they are very helpful for preparation and study of subjects. The course curriculum is relevant. Students also learn a bit more than just the course, like AutoCAD, MATLAB, R programming, etc. It is ensured that all students are prepared for at least C, Python, and Java programming. Exams are a bit tough after the first year, though still doable. At least a 7 CGPA is needed for great chances at placement. The passing percentage is usually 85%-90% every year.
Other: I chose this course because it aligns with my goal of excelling in the computing sector. This lets me learn about the fundamentals of computing and programming while also allowing me to take side courses like Cyber Security so I can combine both areas to achieve greater chances of good placements. I do wish the side-courses weren't compulsory. Students are asked to do at least one NPTEL course per semester, which lasts 8-12 weeks. It gets harder to manage when we intend to study college subjects as well as complete our own side courses, assignments, and practical files. Many events are held. almost every month. Both study related like teach events and entertainment ones like anime fests, etc. Extracurricular Activities include basketball, carrom, etc. Campus isn't too big, it's just big enough to keep the buildings, the front garden and a back basketball court. Scholarships are also held almost every semester for eligible students.

This university is so disciplined.
Placements: As a student of UEM Kolkata, I feel the course structure is industry-focused and updated. The placement package is decent. The highest is 70 LPA and the average is 5-6 LPA. The internship opportunities are great, which give exposure that helps us to gain corporate experience.
Infrastructure: The college campus is small but well-maintained. In Wi-Fi, you may face some internet issues and in classrooms during summer you will feel very hot. For labs, it's well-maintained, and the facilities and instruments are in proper form. The canteen food is clean and good. If you are a sports person, you may face some ground-related issues since it's too short.
Faculty: Faculty members are well-educated, and they teach with so much passion, but some teachers are different. You may hate them, but it's a problem in all universities. The exams are very standard and strict. This course makes students fully industry-ready. Exams are not so easy, not so hard, but the questions are standard.
Other: Events and fests are not up to the mark like at other universities. It's a very disciplined college, but they have scholarship facilities also.

Good placement records, but not student-friendly.
Placements: We are currently 2nd year students. But let me tell you, according to the placement records of previous years. The placement ratio is pretty good. Though the exact number is not known, we often find a lot of students from various departments getting an on-campus offer. Very few of them have also received off-campus offers from companies like Amazon and Microsoft. The college's placement drives are for roles like TCS Digital, Prime, and Ninja or Cognizant roles.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is average. The labs are not in good condition. Systems are not taken care of, and very often we find systems malfunctioning. Apart from the newly made labs, the rest are in pretty bad condition. Classrooms are exactly like in a school, nothing to comment on them. There's one small cafeteria where food is quite expensive, it isn't clean most of the time, and is full of a crowd. We do not have any mess during the recess (yes, we get recess like school), some stalls sell food in the corridors of each floor, quality is below average.
Faculty: Not all the teachers are good. There are a few teachers who teach really well and communicate with the students. Most of the other teachers tend to be dominant and suppressive. Though most of the hardships are for the students, we face threats and complain.
Other: Being honest, I never wanted to join this college, but I did because I didn't have a choice. There's no college life here, we are all running after jobs and a better life. The people who are serious have to face everything and still fight for themselves, but the ones who don't care, the college schedule doesn't affect them. Though events are organised very frequently, there's one big cultural fest and one tech fest organized every year. But we do not often get time to be involved in those. There are frequent exams and a vast syllabus.

There are very good faculty members and teachers who give their 100 percent for your study.
Placements: 94 percent student are placed by this course. They also do there extra curriculum activity to increase their study level better and they also provide a huge number of internships and jobs for every student.
Infrastructure: The hostel quality is too good and there is a facility of Wi-Fi and food, which is of better quality. They provide a good quality bed and also the room is very clean for our students as they lead a healthy life. The hostel is near the college .
Faculty: The fee structure is also good, they at least tell one month before for the payment and they provide a extra guard in the exam. Provide two exams before the college semester and also provide how to learn and get better marks in college. I always recommend this college.
