Students must qualify IEMJEE for admission to B.Tech, BCA and BBA. The university also accepts national or state-level entrance exams like CAT/ MAT/ JEMAT for MBA, WBJEE for B.Tech and WB JECA for MCA. For Ph.D. candidates must hold NET/ SET/ GATE scorecards for admission. GDPI may also be conducted for admission to a few courses. The university releases a merit list and calls the shortlisted candidates for counselling. After document verification, candidates need to pay a fee to confirm their seat in the university.

A hidden gem once. Not up to the mark now. Dense campus life, which feels more like a school.
Placements: Around 60% students got placed in the academic year 2024-25. The highest package was from JP Morgan (19LPA) and the lowest was from TCS Ninja (3.5LPA). Companies like TCS, Capgemini, Cognizant, Accenture, Wipro, PWC, etc., come to campus. There are not many internship opportunities on campus. The best roles offered are from JP Morgan, HashedIn by Deloitte and TCS Prime.
Infrastructure: The campus is very congested. The cafeteria is very small in comparison to the number of students on campus on an average working day. Wi-Fi is weak when there are too many simultaneous connections. The basic classrooms are non-AC, except for labs and some special classrooms. They have AC. Hostel and Mess are okayish. Food is decent, and rooms are not very spacious but manageable.
Faculty: Very strict schedule of exams. Teachers are qualified, but not everyone knows how to teach, apparently. They just read out of PPTs and then take attendance. The course curriculum is relevant, though. But there is a lack of practical knowledge cultivated in the students from the beginning. Oftentimes, they have to resort to the internet to actually upskill themselves.
Other: Fests and events are good. Scholarships are given on a merit basis. The fees are below average when you consider the current rate of B.Tech in this country. So that's justified. The campus life is utterly bad. It feels more like a school than a college. There are strict rules that need to be followed. Disobeying them might lead to serious consequences.

Great infrastructure and placements but hostel needs improvement.
Placements: I am pursuing a B.Tech in CSE (IoT, CS BT) at UEM Kolkata, batch of 2027. The university has an excellent placement record, with most students securing jobs based on their skills. The highest package is 72 LPA, the average is 8 LPA, and the minimum is 5 LPA. Top recruiters include Amazon, Flipkart, Goldman Sachs, TCS, Wipro, Cognizant, and Capgemini. Many students also secure internships in these companies. Top roles offered are SDE, data scientist, cloud engineer, ML engineer, and cybersecurity analyst.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure at UEM Kolkata is excellent. The Wi-Fi is fast and reliable, labs are well-equipped, and classrooms are spacious. The library has a vast collection of books and digital resources. The canteen offers hygienic and diverse food options. Medical facilities are readily available for students. However, hostel facilities need improvement in terms of maintenance and comfort. Apart from that, everything else is well-maintained and provides a great learning environment.
Faculty: The faculty members at UEM Kolkata are highly knowledgeable, supportive, and experienced, and they ensure quality education. The curriculum is well-structured, industry-oriented, and regularly updated to keep up with technological advancements. The exam structure is well-balanced, testing both theoretical knowledge and practical skills and helping students excel in their careers. Overall, everything meets expectations and provides a strong academic foundation.
Other: I am currently pursuing a B.Tech in CSE (IoT, CS BT) at UEM Kolkata, batch of 2027. I chose this course because of my passion for technology, innovation, and problem-solving. The best part of the course is its industry-relevant curriculum, experienced faculty members, and strong placement support. However, I wish there were more hands-on projects and research opportunities. The campus life is vibrant, with various technical and cultural fests, engaging extracurricular activities, and a diverse student crowd. The college also offers scholarships and has good connectivity. Overall, it provides a great learning environment.

For any student, I would suggest this college but make sure you work hard.
Placements: It holds the record of most placed candidates among top private engineering colleges in Kolkata. The highest package offered this year is almost 20 LPA. The lowest is 4 LPA. Top recruiters are TCS, Infosys, PWD, etc. 2 years ago, a candidate got placed with the highest package of 48 LPA.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is available on all floors with good service. The library contains every book needed for study except that entertainment books are also available. Each classroom contains a smart board for teaching. CCTV cameras are installed in every classroom and floor.
Faculty: Faculty members are excellently qualified from well-known institutions. They know the technique of teaching very well. There are many curriculum activities that makes students ready for the industry. Semester exams are quite easy. Papers are set by IIT professors. Faculty have excellent knowledge of teaching and management.

Best engineering college in West Bengal with great placement opportunities.
Placements: More than 90% are placed, other than a few who opt for MBA, GATE, and other studies. The highest package is 72 LPA by IEMA, the lowest is 3 LPA by TCS Ninja, and the average package is 8 LPA. Amazon, Flipkart, JPMC, IEMA, Cognizant, TCS, and Accenture are the top recruiters. 70% of students got internships, with top internship companies being Amazon, JPMC, IEMA, and PWC. Offered positions by the companies are SDE, Frontend Developer, Associate, and Consultant.
Infrastructure: Fully functional high-speed internet and AC labs with 400+ capacities, more than 15 labs. The library is very large with 25,000+ books, AC, and high-speed internet with personalized computers. There is a canteen for hangouts, CCD, and a few food stalls.
Faculty: Most of the teachers are from IITs, NITs, IIEST, and Jadavpur University with Ph.D. degrees. Yes, this course makes students industry-ready. Exams are quite tough, but the teachers are very great and they teach everything in detail so students can easily pass.
Other: I chose this course because I have an interest in Cyber Security and Blockchain technology. There are 3 fests: 2 cultural fests and 1 techno-management fest. These are the biggest fests with lots of joy, and other than that, there are lots of events throughout the year. There are many cultural clubs for extracurricular activities, including coding club, robotics club, research club, and many more to experience.

Our college alumni are very much helpful.
Placements: Placements offered for 550 students were 1300 jobs from various companies like TCS, CTS, Wipro, Lenovo, Deloitte, Cognizant, etc. The highest salary package was 75 LPA, the lowest salary package was 4 LPA, and the average salary package was 4.5 LPA. A lot of third-year students were offered internships such as Iemlabs, Microsoft, etc. Top roles offered were junior developer, SDE, developer. etc.
Infrastructure: College has Wi-Fi in all rooms, sufficient space for everyone and classrooms are open and comfortable. There are plenty of labs for all the departments. Library is the main attraction which is huge with a lot of books. It contains free-to-use computers and kindle readers.
Faculty: Faculty members are very helpful. The rules and regulations are very strict. The course curriculum is relevant and very useful as it makes the student aware of industry needs. The course and semester exams are difficult if you do not study, but it is easy if you concentrate in the class. The pass percentage is 100%.
Other: College should include development topics as the core topics and be taught from the first year. There are two major fests, reckon the tech and ecstatia the cultural fest. Both are incredible in their way and very enjoyable.
