 The University of Mumbai (MU) releases multiple merit lists every year followed by a counselling and document verification process to offer admission to students in MU-affiliated colleges. Mumbai University merit list are released for admission to more than 750 affiliated colleges in programmes such as FYBA, FYBSWA, FYBCom, FYBSc, FYBMS, FYBVoc, FYB Library Science and FYBPA. Yes, interested candidates can apply for distance learning courses through the Institute of Distance & Open Learning (IDOL), University of Mumbai. It offers various UG, PG, and Diploma courses in several specialisations. Students at the Institute of Distance & Open Learning (IDOL), University of Mumbai get placed at renowned organizations. It also offers various scholarship schemes. Admission to all the courses is offered based on a valid score in the qualifying exam except for MCA. Admissions are offered here in two sessions, i.e. January and July for all the courses of IDOL. Candidates seeking admission must visit the official website of the University to apply online.

 In the field of Commerce and Accounting, Mumbai University offers a two-year MCom programme via more than 120 colleges affiliated with it. Admission to MCom is subject to a valid score in the last qualifying exam at the undergraduate level. The University offers MCom of two-year duration via its Faculty of Commerce and other affiliated colleges. Via the Faculty of Commerce, MCom is offered across two specialisations. Candidates are required to have merit in the last qualifying exam for selection and meet the minimum eligibility criteria which is to pass a relevant undergraduate degree with an aggregate ranging between 40% and 60%. Mumbai University application forms for MCom and other courses are generally out in the month of June on the official website (mu.ac.in). Candidates seeking admission must visit the official website, fill MU pre-enrolment form, fill out the application form for MU-affiliated colleges and then wait for the release of MU merit lists. The lists are published on the official website of the affiliated colleges.

University of Mumbai does not conduct or accept any entrance exam for MA admission. Candidates only need to submit the pre-enrollment form along with the application form to get admission. However, for a few MA courses, the University/ MU-affiliated college conducts a Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI) after the written test. Selected candidates need to come for document verification process to confirm their seat. 

 To be eligible for BTech at Mumbai University affiliated colleges, students must fulfil the below eligibility criteria:

• They must be a pass in Class 12 with English, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as subjects and have a minimum of 45% aggregate (40% for backward categories students from Maharashtra) 
• For Biomedical and Biotech Engineering specialisations: Candidates, along with the specialisation mentioned above, must have Biology as a qualifying exam with a minimum of 45% aggregate (40% for backward categories students from Maharashtra)

No, students can not get direct admission in NMIMS Navi Mumbai. The university accepts students purely on the basis of entrance exams for most of its courses. After entrance exam, the further shortlisting is done on the basis of group discussion and personal interview. If not entrance exam, the admission is done on the basis of merit in the previously qualifying examination. 

Like any other Institution/University maintaining an attendance of 75% is mandatory for the students at Mumbai University. The University has its own Attendance Committee, for the smooth conduct of this ordinance in every Department. As per the Attendance Ordinance, candidates must maintain at least 75% attendance for each course & average attendance. If the students fail to maintain the number, the department/college doesn’t forward the examination form to the University exam unit. However, a minimum attendance of 50% is considered in special cases like health issues, family losses, etc.

The University of Mumbai offers two-year MA and MA (Hons) programmes in multiple specialisations to students at the postgraduate level. Out of these, MA General has 27 specialisations under it, namely Hindi, History, Economics and Arabic, among others. Admission to a majority of MA specialisations is based on university-conducted/ college-specific entrance exams. For remaining MA specialisations and MA (Hons) programmes, admission is subject to merit scores obtained by the students in the last qualifying degree exams. IDOL University Mumbai gives scholarships for UG/PG students who are greatly interested in doing or completing a BA degree. The University has established seat reservation policies as given by the Indian government & also gives scholarships for candidates in several reserved categories. The seat reservation policy is set basis the category of the students like General, OBC, SC/ST, PWD, etc., and the seat availability. Students from SC/ST categories can also apply for the RAJIV GANDHI NATIONAL FELLOWSHIP SCHEME (RGNFS) sponsored by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Govt. of India.

The Late Shri Mohan Lal Tannan Scholarship which values INR 1,000 each for two years. It is awarded annually to the two candidates who pass the BCom degree examination at the first attempt and secures the highest and the second the highest number of marks respectively, but not less than 55% of marks on the aggregate among the candidates.

Business Organization, Business Mathematics, Computer Fundamentals and Applications, Micro Economic Foundation, and Financial Accounting are the core subjects of BMS-MBA at Mumbai University Thane Sub Campus. Students who are coming from Commerce background must be familiar with foundation courses, where students coming from different backgrounds can refer to Class 12 Commerce syllabus for the basic knowledge of the course.
