Vel Tech Highlights 2025

Vel Tech University in Avadi, Chennai was established in the year 1997. It has been accredited with an A++ grade by NAAC and NBA. It was affiliated with University of Madras, but the affiliation shifted to Anna University. Vel Tech University has been ranked 96 and 86 in the University and Engineering category by NIRF 2024.

Vel Tech University courses at the UG, PG, and PhD levels are offered in various fields. It has several schools such as the School of Law, School of Management, School of Commerce, School of Science & Humanities, etc. The courses include- BTech, BBA, BCom, BSc, MBA, MTech, MA, etc.

Vel Tech has international relations with more than 390 institutions across 30 countries and has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with 171+ institutions for various Academic and Research exchange activities. Vel Tech offers various courses with diverse specialisations at UG, PG and PhD level. The duration of the BTech programme is four years and that of the rest of the UG courses is three years. It has good faculty members and guaranteed 100 percent placements.

Placements: The top recruiting companies for our course are Amazon, Tech Mahindra, and Hyundai. The lowest package is 3 LPA. The average package is 6 LPA. The highest package is 12 LPA. It has a 100 percent placement guarantee. From the third year, internships are offered to us. Top roles offered in our course are manufacturing engineer and design engineer. I have not been placed in any company. My third year is going on.

Infrastructure: Our college has many facilities, including sports, a library, a big stadium, NCC, NSA, and competitions like a hackathon. Facilities and infrastructure available for our course are the best. The quality of food is average in hostels. I heard and tasted the food, as I am a day scholar and not a hosteller.

Faculty: Teachers are helpful. Mechanical engineering is a core branch of engineering. The course curriculum is relevant, and it makes students industry-ready. 1st and 2nd years are not very tough, but the third year is very important. The pass percentage is 60. Semester exams are not so tough. Faculty members provide good materials to learn, and if we ask, they also provide important questions.

Placements: The percentage of students getting placement for our course was 90 percent. The highest package was 46 LPA. The average package was 6 LPA. Top companies recruiting included Wipro, Amazon, Google, Microsoft, and Flipkart. The percentage of students getting internships was 75%.

Infrastructure: The college looked very beautiful. Each course had a separate block. Wi-Fi was provided, labs were well-equipped, and classrooms were good. The library had all kinds of books. Hostel facilities were good, including beds and food. The college had a total of five canteens. Medical and sports facilities were good.

Faculty: Most teachers were very experienced, with around 25 years of experience. Teachers were highly qualified, holding Ph.D. or Master’s degrees in their subjects. Overall, teaching was good. The courses were relevant to the software field but not the industry field. Semester exams were moderate. Each semester had two midterm exams and one final exam. The pass percentage for the semester was 85%.

Placements: Most students from our batch secured placements with around 85 percent placed successfully. The highest package offered is 12 LPA, the lowest is 3 LPA, and the average stood at about 5.5 LPA. Top recruiting companies included TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Cognizant, and HCL. Students got internship opportunities.

Infrastructure: Our department offers good facilities with high-speed Wi-Fi and is accessible to a spacious library with updated resources. The hostel provided decent rooms, regular cleaning, and a comfortable study environment. The mess and canteen food quality is moderate but hygienic.

Faculty: The teachers are supportive, well-qualified, and knowledgeable, and their teaching methods make concepts easy to understand. The course curriculum is relevant and included practical components that helped students become industry-ready, but with regular preparation.

Other: I chose this course because I am interested in technology and want to build strong skills.

Placements: In my college, there were many students placed, and the highest package was 44 LPA at Amazon, and the average package was 4 LPA. Moreover, if you get a good CGPA, it is an additional confidence to make placements easy. Whenever you try to do new things, the development is always open to it.

Infrastructure: The facilities and infrastructure were good, it was really awesome. In college, everywhere you go, there will be Wi-Fi. Labs are good and updated every year, and the classrooms were very nice with digital classes. The library was good, and it has a separate floor and block.

Faculty: The teaching was helpful, in this college, the faculty are phd (doctorate) and very experienced faculty only there. The course was very relevant and understandable. The semester exams in this college were not difficult, the pass percentage is 50%.

Other: I chose this course because of my personal interest, and I have the knowledge to join this course.

Infrastructure: Veltech Rangarajan Dr. Sagunthala R&D Institute has Wi-Fi available all over the college. The library consists of a lot of books, and the classrooms are also good. Hostel facilities are available, the canteen is good, and medical facilities are also available. Sports and games are conducted.

Great experience at Veltech.

Placements: I'm from the B.Tech Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AIML) 2025-29 batch. The placement opportunities at Veltech are quite good especially for CSE and AIML students. Around 80-85 percent of students in our course get placed every year. The highest package in our department is around 15 LPA, the average package range is between 4 LPA and 5 LPA, and the lowest is about 2.5 LPA. Top recruiters include TCS, Infosys, Cognizant, HCL, Wipro, Zoho, and Accenture.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure for AIML students is impressive. The labs are well-equipped with modern systems and software support. Every department has Wi-Fi access, smart classrooms, projectors, and a good library with digital resources. The hostels are clean and spacious. There's 24/7 water and power backup. The mess food is decent with both North and South Indian options. There's also a canteen and juice shop on campus. Medical facilities are available with a campus doctor and ambulance service. The college also encourages sports. We have cricket, volleyball, basketball courts, and indoor games. Overall it's a good and safe place.

Faculty: The faculty in AIML are qualified and approachable. Most professors have M.Tech or Ph.D. degrees and are very helpful during projects and research work. The curriculum is updated according to the latest industry trends including topics like Deep Learning, Data Science, and IoT. Exams are moderately difficult but easy to pass if you study regularly. There is continuous assessment, internal tests, and project work help students perform better. The pass percentage is above 90 percent in our course.

Vel Tech Scholarships 2025

The Institute offers Mahatma Gandhi National Merit Scholarship which is based on a candidate's performance in Class 12 (PCM) and/or their rank in VTUEEE, whichever is higher. The topper in PCM from each state/ union territory is granted a scholarship of 100% in tuition fee. Candidates must secure a minimum aggregate of 60% in PCM in order to be eligible for the rank-based scholarship. The scholarship is available for BTech students in the form of a fee waiver in accordance with the following scores:

Vel Tech offers Mahatma Gandhi National Merit Scholarship, which is based on a candidate's merit in Class 12 (PCM) and/or their rank in VTUEEE, whichever is higher. PCM topper from each state/ Union Territory is granted 100% scholarship in tuition fee. Candidates must have minimum 60% aggregate in PCM to be eligible for the rank-based scholarship.
