Vel Tech admissions 2025 are open for all the courses. Candidates can apply online on the official website for their desired programme. A few more updates are as forllows:

The CLAT 2026 application process is now open for admission to the five-year Integrated LLB (UG) and one-year LLM courses. The last date to apply is Oct 31, 2025. Furthermore, the CLAT 2026 exam will be held on Dec 7, 2025.
The TANCET 2026 registration process is anticipated to begin in the third week of Jan 2026 for admission to MBA and MCA courses.
The LSAT India 2025 exam has been discontinued and will not be conducted from 2025 onwards for admission to 3-year LLB, 5-year Integrated LLB, and LLM courses.

Vel Tech Highlights 2025

Vel Tech University in Avadi, Chennai was established in the year 1997. It has been accredited with an A++ grade by NAAC and NBA. It was affiliated with University of Madras, but the affiliation shifted to Anna University. Vel Tech University has been ranked 96 and 86 in the University and Engineering category by NIRF 2024.

Vel Tech University courses at the UG, PG, and PhD levels are offered in various fields. It has several schools such as the School of Law, School of Management, School of Commerce, School of Science & Humanities, etc. The courses include- BTech, BBA, BCom, BSc, MBA, MTech, MA, etc.

Vel Tech has international relations with more than 390 institutions across 30 countries and has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with 171+ institutions for various Academic and Research exchange activities. At present, the university offers approximately 50 programmes to students at UG, PG, and PhD levels. Q: What is the application fee for BTech at Vel Tech?

Vel Tech offers a four-year BTech and three-year BTech (Lateral Entry) course. In order to get admission, students need to pay INR 950 and INR 600 for BTech and BTech (Lateral Entry), respectively.

Q: Is it compulsory to give VTUEEE to get admission to BTech at Vel Tech?

No, it is not mandatory to qualify for VTUEEE, only if aspirants get more than 60% aggregate in their previous qualifying exam as per the minimum eligibility criteria. In this case, they can get direct admission to a four-year course of BTech at Vel Tech. If students do not fulfil the minimum eligibility criteria, they have to appear for VTUEEE, which is an in-house entrance exam conducted for admission to Engineering courses. Lastly, our college is good for placements.

Placements: The placements are good. Many companies come here to hire students. Most of them get placed in our college with a package ranging from 4 to 10 LPA. The most common roles offered at our college are software engineer, web developer, and full-stack developer.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure at our college is big and well-maintained. Each department is kept neat and cleaned daily. Separate hostels for boys and girls are provided with all facilities like Wi-Fi, water, and food served daily throughout the week.

Faculty: Teachers are very supportive and helpful in explaining the concept. So that students can understand. The exams are not that tough to pass. It is somewhat easy to write and get a pass mark in internals. Overall, the study management is good.

Other: Our college conducts events for every festival. They provide scholarships for many students. Most extracurricular activities are also conducted for students' development and involvement.

This is the best college to join for Engineering.

Placements: Nearly 150–200 members got placed. The highest package is 24 LPA and the lowest is 4.6 LPA. ZOHO, startup companies, Amazon, and TCS are among the recruiters. Above 8 CGPA students got internships in Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Web Development, and Full Stack Development domains. Roles included web development intern and full stack developer.

Infrastructure: The classrooms of the college are big so that 70–80 students can sit, and have fans and windows for air facilities. There are many labs with the latest version of computers and updated Windows, so that students can easily access them. The college has a big and well-maintained library with more than 15,000 books, so that students can easily access and use them. Students can sit and access the library, and a section in the library has a facility for using computers with internet connection for students.

Faculty: There are many well-educated teachers with a Ph.D. degree. They provide good education so that students can easily understand, learn, and gain knowledge. The courses are all related to the curriculum according to the degree which we are learning, and it's very useful. The semester papers are somewhat easy to get pass marks for the students, and the pass percentage is 80%.

Other: I chose B.Tech Artificial Intelligence & Data Science because I wanted to learn about artificial intelligence technology, which is currently trending and going to lead the future. The best things I learned about this course are how real-world problems are getting solved by using AI, and how to handle and tackle the data using Data Science. The uses of AI, Data Science, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, etc. How AI is going to lead the world, and many more interesting things I have learned till now. They conduct many events for festivals, and the big event Lavaza.

Q: How can I apply to BTech at Vel Tech?

In order to get admission to BTech, students can get admission through both merit and entrance-based. Aspirants need to fulfil the minimum eligibility criteria in the first place, which is to pass Class 12 with 60% aggregate in the respective subjects or equivalent from any recognised board. Students who get less than 60% aggregate in their previous qualifying exams must qualify for VTUEEE. While those who get more than 60% aggregate will get can direct admission based on their merit performance in their previous qualifying exam. Qualified students also have to fill an online application form on the official website of Vel Tech.

Q: Who can get admission to BTech Lateral Entry at Vel Technology?

Vel Tech University offers direct admission to the third year For admission to the BTech Lateral Entry course, there is minimum eligibility criteria that need to be fulfilled before applying for the course. Those who are interested to apply for this course must pass Diploma in Engineering/ Technology from the State Board of Technical Education, Tamil Nadu or its equivalent. As there is no entrance exam required for admission, students will be selected based on their merit performance in the previous qualifying exam.

Vel Tech Scholarships 2025

The Institute offers Mahatma Gandhi National Merit Scholarship which is based on a candidate's performance in Class 12 (PCM) and/or their rank in VTUEEE, whichever is higher. The topper in PCM from each state/ union territory is granted a scholarship of 100% in tuition fee. Candidates must secure a minimum aggregate of 60% in PCM in order to be eligible for the rank-based scholarship. The scholarship is available for BTech students in the form of a fee waiver in accordance with the following scores:
