The college is nade by Rabindranath Tagore and is situated in Santiniketan Bolpur.

Placements: I have completed graduation B.Sc. Honors in Physics from Viva Bharati University in 2016. It is a central university which offers the course from class 1 to PhD. In the physics stream, there are approximately 40 seats in graduation, and in post-graduation, there are 55 seats. The quota for SC, ST and OBC is reserved as per central guidelines. It is a government university, so there is no package system for admission. An admission test is taken, and admission is made by the test result. A nominal fee for examination, sports and tuition are taken from students. It is a co-ed university. Many students crack JAM and NET from here. Many of our friends are doing a PhD in top-rated institutions like IITs and IISC. Currently, I am also in government service because of this university and all teachers. Senior students are also very helpful.

Infrastructure: All the modern facilities are available here. This university is made by Kabi Guru Rabindranath Tagore. The environment is very good and lush green. Students can get a digital library and high-speed Wi-Fi. Post-graduation classrooms are air-conditioned. Both hostel facilities and room rent are available here. Hostels are nearer to the university, and they are very clean. Facilities are very good for drinking water and sanitation. Rooms are large, and in some hostels, Wi-Fi is available. Food served in the canteen is hygienic and healthy, and its price is also low. The whole university campus is connected with pitch road, and the parking system is also very good. There are lots of playgrounds, and there is also a university-owned hospital. Every year inter sports compilation takes place here.

Faculty: Teachers who teach here are highly qualified and professional. They teach you very difficult theory in a very easy way. Modern facilities like projectors, 3D printers and modern labs are available here. Teachers are very helpful. They also teach you outside of their class hours without any extra cost. Besides teachers, all the seniors are very helpful. You cannot face any ragging problems. All the seniors treat juniors like their own brothers and sisters. The teaching level is very high, and highly professional teachers teach here. If you are Bengali and have some problems in English, then you can ask teachers as they teach you in Bengal medium too.

Other: I have chosen physics because I like this subject. Every year teachers and students go for a picnic, and educational tours are also arranged every year. Scholarships are available for meritorious and backward caste students. Our college is famous for Basanta Utsav, i.e., Holi.

Review of Visva Bharati University.

Placements: As it is a government college and an institute of national importance, it does not arrange any campusing. But career counselling sessions are arranged for the students. Most of the students here opt for higher studies and take research as the career option. The toppers here usually clear the competitive exams like JAM, JEST, easily. The research scholars who convey their research works and PhD from here usually get post-doctorate in foreign universities, and few join as an assistant professor in different government colleges and universities.

Infrastructure: Visva Bharati campus is fully Wi-Fi enabled. Classrooms are equipped with projectors. All the classrooms are air-conditioned, but the hostels are not air-conditioned. Library facilities are very good, and every student can borrow a maximum of 6 books from a different library. There are reading rooms in the central library.

Faculty: All the professors of the college are PhD holders. Most of them have a post-doctorate from foreign universities. Few teachers have teaching experiences in foreign universities in Japan, Taiwan, etc. They are very helpful too. Visva Bharati follows UGC syllabus which has CBCS semester system.

Other: Annual sports events are organized by Visva Bharati sports board every year. This university is well connected by rail and road ways. It has a rural open campus which is very much pleasing. You can enjoy every season in this college.

Hello Candidate, Usually the cut off lies above 85% for general candidates, will land you into a fair chamce to join into your bachelors. But since 2020, due to covid scenerio, there has been a lot of students who scored high percentage of marks. So , in my opinion, the cut off might rise. Cut off also depends upon the number of seats available for a particular subject. So it may vary w.r.t. that also. Conclusion : According to me, it could be around 90% for subjects withs less number of seats. And it may be around 85% for subjects with comparatively higher seats. Good luck.
