The college has very good infrastructure and facilities.

Placements: About 8-9 years ago, the rate of campusing was extremely good, but nowadays it is below average. Last year 40-45% of the students got placed after M.Sc in geology. The highest salary package offered was 8 LPA. Companies like Vedanta, Jindal, etc., recruit students from our course. Last year 30% of the students got an internship from our course.

Infrastructure: Labs, classrooms and library are good at our university. Hostels are also good, and there are hostels for girls, boys and physically handicapped. There are several blocks in our hostel. Canteen and medical facilities are available on our campus. We have a big playground, and students play various types of games.

Faculty: Teachers are very helpful, and each department has well-qualified professors. They have extreme knowledge, and we are satisfied. Some of them are eminent scientists and writers of India. They are very cooperative, and their teaching quality is extremely good.

Other: It is an excellent campus with Wi-Fi, and needy students can get various types of scholarships.

Review of Jadavpur University.

Placements: Placements provided by the college are not good. Only one company visits the campus, i.e., Vedanta (HZL), and it recruits only 6 students. The package offered to the students was 7 LPA. One of the disadvantages is, if you fail in any exam in your entire course, you will not be allowed to sit for placements even if you clear that exam later.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is moderate. All the classrooms are air-conditioned. Projectors and green board are available in the classrooms. As this department is a centre of advanced study, the laboratories and the library are quite rich. The department has all kinds of geological instruments necessary for advanced research. There are 6 to 7 canteens present in the college.

Faculty: The department is one of the best earth science departments in the country. The faculty are the best. Students can get a thorough knowledge of the subject. Field-work is done for 2 weeks, and it is the best training which helps the students immensely, to get practical experience. It also gives fun.

Other: Jadavpur University has the cheapest fee structure and also provides the world-class education. The fee structure of the Science department is approximately Rs. 1500 per year.

Awesome campus life and awesome teaching system. But, we want some placements.

Placements: There is no placement option after completing B.Sc course. No one is placed after B.Sc in the science stream. After M.Sc, some companies recruited us like Vedanta who gives 7.95 Lacs salary. 6 out of 31 students were placed in this company. There is no arrangement for the internship.

Infrastructure: No Wi-Fi facility is available. The labs are awesome. The classrooms are also good and air-conditioned. The library is good. Sports arrangements are not good. The canteen food is very bad. The hostel rooms are not cleaned. Overall, the infrastructure well. But, we want some fresh and high qualities.

Faculty: The teachers are very helpful, qualified and knowledgeable. The teaching quality was moderate. The boy: girl ratio was about 1:2 In M.Sc. We got industry exposure. The course curriculum was not useful, it should be changed. The faculty are awesome.

The university and the people associated with it diversified my thought process.

Placements: Around 80% of students get placed, while 20% of students go for higher education. The highest package offered is 15–20 LPA, and the average package is around 12 LPA. HZL, Vedanta, and Aditya Birla are the top recruiters. 100% of students get internships from organizations like ONGC, AMD, ECL, IISER, and ISI. The top role offered is Geologist.

Infrastructure: The university has excellent infrastructure with well-equipped laboratories and air-conditioned rooms. Water is available 24/7. Everything is clean and well-maintained. Free Wi-Fi is available across the campus. Hostels are good. Food is provided 2–3 times a day. There are 6–7 canteens on campus. One excursion trip is organized every year.

Faculty: Teachers are highly educated, and most of them are from Jadavpur University. They are friendly in nature and, besides providing proper education, help enhance students’ knowledge. The new education policy prepares students for industrial work through practical experience. There are two semesters in a year.

Other: Three fests are conducted on campus. It includes a science fest, an engineering fest, and an arts fest. All are open to everyone, and each night sees a crowd of around 4,000–5,000 people.

East and west, JU Geology is the best.

Placements: Every year, about 8-9 students get placed out of 30. But in the pandemic, the situation only 1 student got placement. The average offered package is about 5 Lacs/ year. HZL, VEDANTA, are the main recruiters. Roles offered for geologist, assistant geologist, petrophysicist, etc.

Infrastructure: JU Wi-Fi is provided for all JU students. Lasbs and classrooms are well maintained but not in good numbers for 50 students (admitted in B.Sc). Classrooms have an air conditioner. Though it is a state university but this department is also sponsored by DST, that's why it is well furnished. Department has a lift also.

Faculty: Every teacher has a PhD degree. Their teaching quality is wonderful. Every student pass within three years. No one has a year lag. Teachers have an average of 15 years of teaching experience.

Enriched faculty with Well known professor and good placement.

Placements: Eight student out of twenty eight were placed in M.Sc. No job offer after B.Sc. The highest salary-nine Lacs per year. The lowest salary Five Lacs per year. Vedanto_zinc limited, Tata, were top recruiters. Many of student crack csir entrance. During summer vacation fifty percent student do internship.

Infrastructure: Departmental library and central library both contain a huge number of books of renowned author. And 5g Wi-Fi available. Smart classroom. Hostel is also available. Through a process allotment of hostel is given. Gaming like cricket foolball busket ball racket. Water atm for fresh purified water.

Faculty: Highly qualified professor. All the professor are Ph.D. holder and experienced. The course makes us ready and once in a year field visit makes us confident where direct features are observed. From our university most of the student lack in the all India entrance exam like JAM, GATE.

Other: I chose this course because this is completely field-based education. Placement should be more. A lot of seminar and workshop organised by our sir and PhD student.
