My experiences @ IPCW, DU.
Placements: For B.Com. Hons., the placement rate is almost 60-70% in IPCW. The average package is 5 LPA, whereas the median salary is 5.5 LPA. The highest package is 21 LPA. The recruiting companies are Tira, EY, Amazon, Deloitte, etc. Its placement cell support is quite strong. A few students also secure internships and placements through off-campus placement drives. It has a good reputation in commerce, economics, and geography courses.
Infrastructure: For B.Com. Hons., we get IT labs for practical work and projectors in a few lectures. The library is spacious and offers a diverse selection of books. The library is better, whereas the classrooms are non-AC. The college also provides a lecture theatre and an auditorium on the campus.
Faculty: Teachers are well qualified and knowledgeable, and the teaching quality is good but can be improved. The course curriculum is as per Delhi University and is relevant. To become industry-ready, you have to focus on enhancing your skills as well. The semester exams are as per the University.
Other: The campus crowd is quite nice. Some people are really helpful here. For campus life, we have to go to the main North Campus, which is 2 stations away, to enjoy most of our college days. Connectivity for IPCW is very good as it is situated just outside the Civil Lines metro station, Gate number 2.

Supportive faculty, decent placements, and vibrant campus life at IPCW.
Placements: Placements for B.Com (Hons.) at Indraprastha College for Women are fairly good. Around 60%-70% of students get placed, with the highest package reaching 15.75 LPA and the average package being around 5.7 LPA. Top recruiters include Deloitte, EY, Wipro, Accenture, and Willis Towers Watson, offering roles like finance analyst, audit associate, and business analyst. Internships are also available through college or an external platform like Internshala, with companies like EY and Oyo hiring interns. The placement cell is helpful and provides good support, but students are also expected to put in their effort to secure better opportunities.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is so good. Everything on the campus looks very clean and aesthetic, but if I talk about the Wi-Fi, there are times when you can face network issues. Apart from that, everything else is very nice. Though I don't live in the hostel, I've heard it's well-maintained with clean rooms, decent mess food, and 24/7 security. The canteen offers affordable snacks, and medical facilities include an on-campus health center with a nurse and visiting doctor. The campus lacks in providing good sports equipment, but there is a gym for sports students.
Faculty: Teachers are really helpful here, and the quality of teaching is appreciable. The course is strong in theory but not fully industry-focused. It needs more practical exposure, so students should do internships or extra courses alongside. Exams are moderately tough but manageable with regular study. The pass percentage is high, around 90%-95%, but scoring well needs consistent effort.
Other: I'm from the B.Com (Hons.) batch of 2024-27. I chose this course for its wide career scope in finance and business. The subjects are solid, but I wish there were more practical learning. The campus is lively, the crowd is friendly, and events like Shruti fest make college life fun. The location is great, and scholarships and societies add to the overall experience.

IPCW is not underrated, it is really just average.
Placements: The college placement cell barely offers any sort of career opportunities or internships for students. Till now, no student has secured any internship from the college in my class or course. The placement cell only organises useless workshops and nothing more.
Infrastructure: The college has a huge campus in terms of area but the infrastructure (buildings, classrooms) is not sufficient and does not cater to the mass number of students in a class. There are a lot of vacant spaces but are not put to any efficient use. There is a lot of greenery and a good park-like vibe but do we actually need this much greenery on our campus or do we need actual classrooms big enough to make all students comfortable?
Faculty: Most teachers are helpful and qualified. I doubt if they are placed in the right courses, according to their knowledge or are just placed there to fill the job vacancy like the business teacher teaching law in the next semester with no actual knowledge of law. They are just there to teach for the namesake.
Other: I chose bachelors of commerce (honours) because of my love for commerce. I really wish that the course provided some real insights into the actual world of finance, taxes, entrepreneurship and commerce rather than focusing on developing unnecessary theory subjects just for the namesake then it would have been helpful for us when we seek jobs in the future. It is very important. The management of the college is just really slow and bad. IPCW is always behind other colleges in terms of everything from fests to issuing admit cars, allotting courses, etc. The worst thing about the college is the timing I. e. 8 AM to 5:20 PM despite being a girls' college, it's so insensible that the timing and attendance criteria are really strict too.

It is so good, I would recommend seeing the beauty of the IP campus.
Placements: Percentage of students placed in B.Com (Hons) is 61.3%. The highest package offered is 23.05 LPA ( 2024 ), the average package offered is 7.03 LPA, and the lowest package offered is 4.80 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Deloitte, DE Shaw & Co, ABP Network, Godrej, Tata, Yamaha, MGH, Brain & Co, Air India, KPMG, Delta X, SAP, WTW, Ditto. Students from B.Com (Hons) got internships in EY and Deloitte. Top roles offered are Management, Audit, Analytics, Finance, Business Operations, Sales, and Marketing.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is available, but doesn't work that well. Labs are there. Classrooms are good. Library is exceptionally good and fully air conditioned. The hostel is good, big, and the food is okay. Cleanliness is maintained. The sports ground is amazing, and the nets are there.
Faculty: Faculty is really helpful, encouraging, and highly qualified. Teaching quality is good, the course curriculum is strictly followed, which makes the students industry ready. The second semester exam was good, the first semester exam was a bit difficult. .
Other: I have a deep interest in business, hence I chose B.Com (Hons) to explore opportunities. IP College has an environment of entrepreneurship and business. Fests are okay, not that great. The crowd is good.

I am dissatisfied because of the infrastructure.
Placements: The placement rate of the college is quite impressive. Around 40% of students get placed in Deloitte, PwC, and KPMG companies. The internship rate is around 70%. Top roles offered in my course are audit analyst, consultant, etc. The highest package offered is 10 LPA, and the lowest package is 3 LPA. Leading companies like Accenture, Deloitte and KPMG are the top recruiting companies of our course. The placement society of college does not help us much.
Infrastructure: Classrooms are well-cleaned. The internet connectivity is poor on campus. Even the Wi-Fi is not working properly. The food available in the canteen is overrated and expensive. Medical facilities are superior. The library is spacious and stocked with a wide variety of books. We can issue books easily. Re-issuing of book facility is also available. The canteen gets overcrowded during peak hours.
Faculty: Teachers are well-qualified and knowledgeable. The course curriculum is totally relevant. The difficulty level of semester exams depends upon the nature of exams. If the exam is full of theories like human resource management, then the paper is easy but lengthy. If the exam is practical+theory like account then the paper can be tricky. The pass percentage of exams is around 33% in each subject.
Other: Extracurricular activities conducted are very few. Fests are not organised properly. Students don't get a proper chance to enjoy outside events and in fests.

Yes, the BCom programme is available at IP College as an honors degree lasting for three years. The BCom course is offered as an honors degree. Admission to IP College BCom course is based on the CUET exam conducted by the NTA. Q:   Which education system does IP College follows for its BCom course?
    ShikshaGPT says
    A:

IP College follows the Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) as part of National Policy across the country from the academic year 2015-16. This course framework allows students to choose courses per CBCS subject disciplines comprising core, elective/minor, and skill based courses.

    AskShikshaGPT on App
Q:   Which one is better for BCom, IP College for Women or Daulat Ram College, University of Delhi?
    ShikshaGPT says
    A:

Different candidates can have different opinions for this comparison. As both the colleges (IP college for women Delhi and Daulat Ram College University of Delhi) are affiliated to university of Delhi. Both have good facilities, good infrastructure, good faculty members and both accept CUET cut-offs.

Here are some points which can help to  choose the better college:-

    1. Infrastructure:- Both Universities have big campus, alongwith garden, sports ground, classrooms and laboratories. But according to the reviews and ratings available on the internet, Daulat Ram College has a better campus than the IP college.
    2.  Campus life :- according to the reviews on the internet both colleges have good campus life . Both are rated average in terms of campus life .
    3. Placements :- The placement in IP college is better than Daulat Ram College University of Delhi on the basis of recent year placements.
    4. Fees :- Daulat Ram College, University of Delhi has higher fees as compared with the Indraprastha college for women Delhi.
    5. Cut-off :- Both colleges accept CUET exam cut-offs but the cut-offs at Daulat Ram College University of Delhi is higher as compared to the IP college for women Delhi for the same course.

So, we can conclude that in recent years IP college for women has improved its quality of education and provided better opportunities than Daulat Ram College University of Delhi. However, Daulat Ram College University in Delhi has built a strong base in past years, so it's not good to say that IP colleges are better. Candidates can choose the best depending on their needs and expectations.

    AskShikshaGPT on App
