Bangalore University Result 2020: Semester, Revaluation, Reappear Exam & Exam Time Table
Established in 1964, Bangalore University is an open institution that is associated with Association of Commonwealth Universities and Association of Indian Universities. Bangalore University is recognised by UGC and is also known to be the largest university in South Asia. Bangalore University has two campuses including Central and Jnana Bharathi Campus. It offers a wide range of courses at UG, PG, doctoral and diploma level in multiple streams of Engineering, Science, Law, Commerce, Teaching & Education and Humanities & Social Sciences.
The university follows a semester exam scheme for all its courses, these are conducted every six months (odd semester and even semester). Odd semester exams are conducted in November-December and the results are declared in March. The even semester exams are conducted in April-May and the results are declared in July.

Bangalore University Result 2020
Bangalore University declares semester result for all its courses on its official website. These marks are considered provisional until the semester score is reflected in final ‘Statement of Marks’ issued by the University after two months of result declaration. Students can check their end-semester examination result by following below-mentioned steps:
Step 1: Visit the official website of Bangalore University (eng.bangaloreuniversity.ac.in) and scroll down to ‘Examination’ section and click on ‘Results’

Step 2: Enter details including your registration number, name, degree, course, college and examination name. Click on ‘Check Result’
Step 3: The semester score will be displayed on your screen. You can click on ‘print’ to download and print the provisional mark sheet for future references
Bangalore University Evaluation 2020
Bangalore University evaluates a student based on three indices including attendance, internal assessment and end-semester examination.
Total Marks for each course = 10 per cent of attendance & skill development + 10 per cent of internal assessment (C1) + 10 per cent of internal assessment (C2) + 70 per cent of end-semester examination (C3).
- Attendance: A student is considered to have satisfied the semester requirement of attendance if he has attended not less than 75 per cent of total number of working periods in each of the subjects. Following marks are credited to a student based on attendance:

- Internal assessment: It has a weightage of 25 marks out of which 20 marks are based on two tests of one-hour duration for each subject. The average of two tests is taken as internal assessment marks. The remaining five marks are based on skill development record of the student. Students who have obtained a minimum of 40 per cent in aggregate in internal assessment are considered pass in that subject
- End-semester exam: Bangalore University conducts an end-semester exam examination of 70 marks for each subject of the course. Students who have obtained a minimum of 35 per cent aggregate in end-semester examination are considered pass in that subject
SGPA and CGPA calculation:
SGPA: Semester Grade Point Average (SGPA) is computed by dividing the sum of the Credit Points (CP) of all subjects by maximum credits for the semester.
| SGPA (Si) = Σ (Ci x Gi) / ΣCi; where Ci is the number of credits of the ith course and Gi is the grade point scored by the student in ith course |
CGPA: Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) is calculated taking into account all the subjects studied by a student throughout the course duration.
| CGPA = Σ (Ci x Si) / Σ Ci; where Si is the SGPA of the ith semester and Ci is the total number of credits in that semester |
Letter grade evaluation:
Bangalore University assigns grades to a student based on SGPA and CGPA obtained at the end of each semester. Based on these letter grades, class/ division is also allotted to a student:
- First-class: Those who obtain 60 per cent or above aggregate in total (inclusive of all three indices)
- Second-class: Those who obtain 50 per cent or above but less than 60 per cent aggregate in total (inclusive of all three indices)
- Pass-class: Rest of the successful candidates who secure 40 per cent or above but less than 50 per cent aggregate in total (inclusive of all three indices)

Bangalore University Revaluation 2020
For students who are not satisfied with their results of current semester and want revaluation can fill Bangalore University's revaluation form to get their scorecard revaluated. Application for the same should be filled within one month from the date of result declaration. Firstly, a student needs to request for viewing the answer book and then decide whether to apply for revaluation or not. The answer book can be downloaded from answer book portal of Bangalore University (www.busempc.in). The fee required for viewing answer book varies every semester.
Revaluation: Without considering previous marks, Bangalore University checks the copy of a student again. A student can apply for revaluation challenge only if he/ she finds that the answer book has been wrongly evaluated. If the students’ revaluated score has more than 15 per cent hike from the initial score, entire revaluation challenge fee paid by the student gets refunded. The steps to apply for revaluation is listed below:
Step 1: Visit the official website of Bangalore University (eng.bangaloreuniversity.ac.in) and scroll down to ‘Examination’ section and click on ‘Revaluation’
Step 2: Further, click on ‘Examination Fee Payment’ link
Step 3: Fill the revaluation form by addressing the details including your registration number, name, degree, college name, email ID, mobile number, Aadhaar card number and nationality. Click on ‘Calculate’ to calculate the application fee
Step 4: Hit ‘Save’ once done. Conclude the process by paying prescribed revaluation fee
Bangalore University Carry-over Examination 2020
Students with ‘F’ or ‘Ab’ grade in any subject are required to appear in ‘Carry-over Examination’ in the subsequent years. The marks of internal assessment and attendance obtained by a student in the first attempt will be carry forwarded to the final tabulation of carry-over examination. Students may obtain Bangalore University carry-over exam form from its examination cell. The duly-filled application form needs to be submitted back to the exam along with an exam fee of Rs 500 for each subject paid through challan.
