GGSIPU also known as Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Delhi has been ranked among the top universities in the country and was established in the year 1998. The university is particularly known for its Law, Engineering, Architecture, and Management courses. The university has 111 affiliated colleges, out of these 87 are self-financed and 24 are owned and operated by the Govt. of NCT of Delhi and the Govt. of India. The university has been ranked in the A category by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and has a total university strength of more than 93,000. The university ranking stands at 79 among Indian universities. The university has Industrial collaborations with some of the top organisations such as Cisco System, IBM, Intel, Netalla, TCS, etc. for training and other purposes. • The university has a total of 70 classrooms, out of which 57 are well-enabled with ICT facilities
• Four modern digital classrooms with a seating capacity of 60/ 90 for delivery of online classes
• More than 1,200 computers to support high-end computing and for various purposes such as training, etc.
• The university has specialised chemical engineering laboratories and biotechnology laboratories
• There is a moot court and a language lab
• Seminar Halls and Conference Room cum-theatre with full ICT facilities
• A total of 12 cultural clubs and various technical clubs to serve the interests of students of the university
• The university has received funding of INR 10 crores under the Atal Incubation Scheme, Govt. of India

Library at GGSIPU

The university has a huge centrally air-conditioned library that contains 66,087 books, 12,177 e-books, 14,976 journals, subscriptions to 14 online databases, etc. The students and faculty members can also access the resources remotely with the help of the WebOPAC facility. 

GGSIPU Hostel and Cafeteria

The university has four hostels on campus, two for male and two for female students. Each hostel has more than 180 single-seating rooms. Each room of the hostel is equipped with basic furniture and facilities like a cot, pillow, chair, table, etc. The two boys’ hostels at the university are Shivalik hostel and Aravali hostel whereas the girls’ hostels are named Nilgiri Hostel and Satpura Hostel.

ANUGOONJ: GGSIP University Cultural Festival

Anugoonj is the cultural festival of the university, which is organised every year. The students from all 127 affiliated institutes get an opportunity to showcase their respective talents. Some of the major events include-

Sports and Activities in GGSIPU

The major sporting events which are scheduled in the university include Volleyball (Men & Women), Football (Men & Women), Discus Throw (Men & Women), Shotput (Men & Women), Race (100m/200m/400m/500m) (Men & Women), Cross Country Race, Long Jump (Men & Women), Tug of War (Men & Women), Cricket, Basketball, Badminton, Kabbadi, Body Building, Weight lifting Power Lifting, Tennis. Recently, the university has completed its  17th Annual Sports Meet from December 14 to 16, 2022. The university also has various indoor & outdoor game facilities which are as follows-
