Extracurricular activities in Brainware University

Colleges are more than just places where students go to study and learn; they are a way of life in and of themselves, with various activities for recreation and joy being an important aspect that must be fulfilled in order to provide a joyful atmosphere on campus. Brainware University is nowhere behind in providing such great opportunities for students to take part in various activities throughout the year. From knowledge-building activities to fun and stress-releasing activities, all sorts of extracurricular activities are offered on the BWU campus. Activities like sports are very vital for keeping young minds busy with their recreational skills and also for giving them the chance and space to develop their sporting abilities along with their physical fitness. Also, having different clubs encourages various educational as well as extracurricular events. They help in hosting such events and promote multiple ideas while enhancing creative enthusiasm in the students. Furthermore, what most college-going students love and eagerly wait for is the college fest. A fest brings with it unique and great opportunities in a variety of activities that are fun to participate in and are also fun to watch as an audience too. Brainware University has it all; it leaves no chance of making its students’ lives fun, interesting, and full of learning opportunities.

Popular Events

Sports

Multiple sports-based events are held at Brainware University. These events are held on two occasions, one being the annual sports day and the other one being the Brainware annual fest. Both are held annually.

Some of the sports events that take place are:

1. Cricket Tournament
2. Football Tournament
3. Volleyball Cup
4. Tug of War

These events are intra-college events. Although, in cricket and football, other colleges can participate as well.

Departmental Events

Departmental events are organised by specific departments where program-related projects are demonstrated and carried out by brilliant and creative students. Outside guests and audiences are also invited to attend these events in order to make these events more fruitful. They are educational in nature and aim to give creative minds a stage to demonstrate their knowledge and skills. The Department of Computational Sciences held a workshop where the students were given an opportunity to develop games with the assistance of special guests.

Fests

The Annual Fest at Brainware University is held every year for 4-5 days. In the years 2020 and 2021, the annual fest was not held due to the ongoing COVIS-19 pandemic. However, the annual festival has resumed as usual this year. The Fest is a treat in itself, where multiple events over a period of 4-5 days are conducted. Events like face painting, portrait making, painting, etc. are held to promote art. While events like rap battles, music bands, etc. are held to escalate music. Then there are some fancy events such as ramp walking, fashion shows, and dancing. Apart from them, sports events are also held, as mentioned earlier. In these sports events, external colleges take part as well. Finally, on the final day of the annual fest, renowned musical bands perform live on the university campus grounds. This event is a blast itself, where the students of the entire university come together to enjoy the music in the evening. Apart from the annual fest, there is another fest that is solely dedicated to Technology. It is called Texibition, or the Annual Tech Fest, and is organised and hosted by the institute's Tech Club in collaboration with the institute’s Innovation Council (ICC). All sorts of cool gadgets and mechanics that are made by the brilliant and creative students are demonstrated in it, which are then supervised and judged by very senior tech officers that visit as guests.

Clubs in the university

Brainware University consists of various clubs that provide immense opportunities for students to learn and develop their knowledge. Some of the clubs are:

1. The Entrepreneurship Club: This club aims to inspire and guide young students to become successful entrepreneurs. It hosts a number of workshops and seminars to impart knowledge and insights to young minds.
2. Photography Club (Photo Frame): This club organises photo walks to encourage members to take part in photography competitions.
3. Cine Club (Deep Focus): This club has a collaboration with the Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute (SRFTI) that helps its members get great exposure.
4. Tech Club: It is open to both teachers and students. The club provides a stage to harness creativity and combine it with technological skills.
5. Communication Club: This club focuses on honing the good communication skills of the students.
6. Innovation Club: provides a platform for the students to showcase their innovative ideas, while the club assists them in making the ideas come to reality.

In short, Brainware University provides its utmost support and strength to make the students fall in love with the university and its campus by making their life on campus special, joyful, passionate and insightful.
