IGNOU admission 2021 for the July session is currently open for all its diploma courses at its official website (ignou.ac.in). The last date for online registration was September 23, 2021 for Certificate courses. However, the registration process for all IGNOU courses extended further till October 25 except for Certificate courses. Candidates seeking admission must check this article for details regarding course-specific eligibility criteria and application/ course fee before applying. IGNOU admissions to diploma and certificate courses are completely based on merit in the previous qualifying exam. Additionally, a few programmes require students to have field/ work experience for final selection.

IGNOU Admission Dates 2021

IGNOU admission cycle for January intake generally ends in the month of February every year. However, due to the ongoing pandemic, the University extended its application dates. Currently, the applications for July session are open. Complete schedule regarding IGNOU admission dates 2021 is as follows:

IGNOU Diploma Admission 2021

IGNOU offers 23 diploma courses of one-year duration to the students. The admission process of all these courses is conducted online. Applications are accepted in both January and July cycles every year. Interested candidates can submit their applications online via the respective department’s website of IGNOU or via the common application portal for open, distance or online learning.

Category A (Direct Entry):

- Class 12 or equivalent based on merit of physically fit candidates.

- An interview is conducted by the Regional Center to spot physical fitness and merit of the student

- University provides reservation of seats as per Government of India rules

Category B (Sponsored Admission):

- The sponsor is allowed to nominate employees, who have passed Class 12, from their Retail organisation

- The sponsor must submit a letter on the company’s letter head issued by the competent authority along with an application form of the candidate along with a fee DD drawn in favour of IGNOU payable at New Delhi

Offered in both January and July cycle of admissions, these courses have a minimum duration of six months and their maximum duration is two years. No, once allotted, the IGNOU BEd Entrance Exam Centre 2026 cannot usually be changed. Candidates are advised to carefully select their preferred city while filling the application form. In rare cases, IGNOU may allow changes, but only under specific conditions mentioned in the guidelines.
