IIM Raipur Campus Area

Students are not permitted to have a personal vehicle on the IIM Raipur campus.

The campus of IIM Raipur is surrounded by lush vegetation and covers an area of about 200 acres. The campus is situated in Raipur's Atal Nagar smart city neighbourhood and radiates beauty throughout every square inch of its vast area. IIM Raipur is located in a quiet area far from the city, making it the ideal location for aspiring managers. There is a hostel block with about five to six buildings on the campus, followed by an academic block with one enormous building. Eight to ten buildings have been designated as residences for faculty and staff. There is a separate medical centre for emergencies and an auditorium, which is housed in a separate building.

Facilities Available for Studies

Facility standards on the new campus are as rigorous as those globally. All campus resources, including computer labs, libraries, classrooms, auditoriums, learning resource centres and wireless networks, are available for students. The classrooms are equipped with modern amenities, enabling more interactive lessons and greater student participation. Computer labs are equipped with high-speed LAN connectivity to enable effective and uninterrupted work around the clock. A significant number of journals have been added to the library's collection and it is connected to the country's digital library.

Co-Curricular Activities

Sports facilities, including those for both indoor and outdoor activities, are installed on campus with the intention of promoting the students' overall growth and development. Recently, a separate stadium that is only used for outdoor activities like cricket, badminton, volleyball and other sports of a similar nature has been built. A large portion of the available playing fields is enclosed by this stadium. One of the most interesting amenities IIM Raipur provides for its students is a swimming pool, which is uncommon in many top Indian business schools. There is a building dedicated to indoor games like chess, carom and table tennis. Every piece of gear needed for participation in any sport is available at the sporting goods store.

Hostel and Mess Facilities

Those who are familiar with the situation report that there are currently six hostel buildings on the IIM Raipur campus, each of which can house 140+ students. For MBA students, there are only a select few double-occupancy rooms available; otherwise, they all reside in single-occupancy rooms. The issue affects both males and females equally. Three blocks are currently available for rent, two of which are reserved for male students and one is for female students. Students taking e-PGP courses and those enrolled in the institute's scholar program, both have access to separate buildings. A nice feature of the hostel is that there are two washing machines on each floor. Laundry services are also available at a reasonable price.

Since the students themselves are mess's driving force, the student council makes important decisions about the organisation's various activities. A committee called the 'Hostel & Mess Committee' (HMC) is formed to oversee all the daily operations necessary to make sure the hostel runs smoothly. The HMC decides on the menu only after talking to other students, who are present. A new menu is added every 35 to 45 days on average.

Transportation Facility

Even though the campus is not located particularly close to the central business district of Raipur, it is still very simple to travel there using public transportation. A variety of transportation options are available near the college's main entrance gate.  Additionally, students are not permitted to have a personal vehicle on campus.

IIM Raipur is located in a particularly advantageous location from the perspective of obtaining knowledge since there are limited distractions.
