LPU Diploma Programmes Admission 2021: Registration Dates, Eligibility, Application Process

Lovely Professional University offers a number of UG Diploma, Diploma, PG Diploma and Dual Diploma programmes in several streams, such as Photography, Engineering, Management, Science, Design, etc. LPU admissions to these programmes generally begin in January every year. The University offers admission to these programmes on a merit basis. Candidates have to qualify the minimum eligibility criteria to apply for any of the programmes. 

LPU Admission 2021: Highlights

Apart from UG, PG and integrated programmes, LPU also offers few diploma programmes at the UG and PG level. LPU admission to all these programmes is merit-based. A few highlights regarding LPU admission 2021 to diploma programmes are mentioned below:

LPU Admission 2021: UG Diploma

LPU also offers UG Diploma programmes in several fields, such as Cabin Crew, Photography and Library & Information Sciences. The duration of these programmes ranges between one and three years. The course-wise eligibility criteria of these programmes for LPU admissions are tabulated below:

LPU Admission 2021: Diploma Programmes

Apart from the UG Diploma, LPU also offers a few other diploma courses that require Class 10 as the minimum qualification for admission. All these programmes are of three-year duration each, except for Diploma in Food Production, which is of one-year duration. LPU admission to all these courses is based on merit scores in the last qualifying exam (Class 10).

Candidates with a valid diploma can also avail admission directly to the second year of Diploma in Engineering programme via lateral entry admission. The minimum eligibility for all six specialisations under lateral entry Diploma in Engineering (two-year programme) is tabulated below:

LPU Admission 2021: PG Diploma

Apart from all the postgraduate degree programmes, LPU also offers a few one-year PG Diploma programmes. For admission to these courses, candidates must meet the minimum eligibility criteria as indicated in the table below:

LPU Admission 2021: Dual Diploma Programmes

In addition to the dual diploma programmes, LPU also offers 10 dual programmes which are a mix of a diploma and a bachelor’s degree. All these programmes are of six-year duration each, except for Dual Programme DMLT-BSc (Medical Laboratory Technology), which is of five years. LPU Application Process 2021

LPU admissions to all the above-mentioned programmes are done through an online mode. Candidates, fulfilling the eligibility criteria need to apply online through the admission portal of the University. The common LPU application process is shown below:

Step 1: Signup

• Register on the official admission portal of LPU i.e. LPUADMIT (admission.lpu.in) with basic details such as name, email id, mobile number, state, gender and password). The email id used during registration will act as the username for the portal and password needs to be set by the candidate while registration.
• Login to the LPUADMIT with an already created username/ password

Step 2: Application for admission

Candidates can continue to take admission and then apply for LPUNEST (for scholarship purpose):

• Fill in the application form
• Select the programme from the available course list
• Make an initial payment of Rs 10,000 (which consists of an application fee of Rs 500, rest is part of the programme fee of the first semester). After making the payment, the University will dispatch the prospectus at the correspondence address (entered in the application form) and a unique provisional registration no. will be generated and sent to the registered email id.
• Upload the required documents. All the submitted documents are verified from the originals within the prescribed timelines during admission.
• Deposit the balance fee within the timelines as prescribed by LPU

Step 3: Apply for LPUNEST

Lovely Professional University conducts an online eligibility/scholarship test, LPUNEST basis which students can avail a number of scholarships.

• Deposit the test fee: The cost for the application form and soft copy of LPUNEST Kit is Rs 800 (for boys) and Rs 500 (for girls) and fill the application form of LPUNEST.

Step 4: Book the exam slot and appear for it

• Candidates are now required to book a slot (with their preference of date and time) to appear for LPUNEST
• Appear and qualify the test

List of documents to be uploaded with the application form

• Recent photograph
• Mark sheet and passing certificates of Class 10, Class 12 and graduation
• Qualifying exam certificate/ marksheet
• Address proof

Also, students are advised to carry the following documents (both the original and the copy) at the time of reporting at the University campus:

• Certificate and mark sheet of Class 10 and Class 12
• Character/ school leaving/ transfer document
• Entrance test rank/ score card (if applicable)
• Three passport-size photographs of the student
• Proof of residence
• Aadhaar Card of the students and their parents
• A self-attested anti-ragging affidavit signed by both the students and their parents
• Income Affidavit

LPU Scholarships 2021

Lovely Professional University strongly believes in the fact that monetary constraints should not be an obstacle for a student to have access to quality education. So, the University provides scholarship schemes to students on various parameters. Scholarships can be availed for all the programmes of the University, ranging from Diploma to PhD. Students have been awarded scholarships worth Rs 100+ crores in the last year only.

The scholarships are awarded to students under six categories:

1. Scholarships based on marks scored in the qualifying exam
2. Scholarships based on a candidate's performance in LPUNEST (UG and PG): Under this scholarship scheme, the University has created three brackets for awarding the scholarships. Each bracket has certain criteria to be met by the students. These are tabulated below:

4. Performance in Sports, Cultural, R&D, Co-curricular, Social Service and Bravery Awards
5. Special scholarships and/or fee concessions
