West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination for Lateral Entry (WBJEE JELET) is a state-level BTech entrance exam. The exam is conducted by the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board (WBJEEB). The exam is conducted for admission to the second year (third semester) of Bachelor Degree courses in Engineering/Technology/Pharmacy except for Architecture in various BTech colleges of West Bengal. As mentioned above, there are 15 BTech Colleges in West Bengal which accept the WBJEE JELET exam. Colleges accepting WBJEE JELET for B.Tech in West Bengal: Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility criteria differ from one stream to another. Students who wish to appear for the WBJEE JELET exam must fulfill the following eligibility criteria:
- Candidates should have passed BSc or diploma in Engineering/Pharmacy/Technology with at least 45% aggregate (40% for reserved category) or equivalent CGPA from a recognised institute or university
- Candidates must have passed Class 12 with mathematics as a subject
- There is no upper age limit for students who hold a diploma, but who are BSc degree holders, the upper age limit is 27 years of age as on December 31, 2021
- The candidate must be a citizen of India
