High fees but nice faculty, good placements, good infrastructure and facilities, and scholarships.
Placements: More than half of the students enrolled in the course are placed. Top recruiting companies include Wipro, IBM, Samsung, DE Shaw & Co, Oracle, Microsoft, Siemens, and many more. Highest Package was 39 LPA, lowest package was 16 LPA, and the average was around 19 LPA. Many students received a stipend above Rs. 25,000, with the number generally increasing across groups, and the maximum stipend offered went as high as Rs. 1.5 Lacs in some cases.
Infrastructure: World-class research facilities, antenna research lab, done and intelligent sensors lab, MEMS research lab, optical fibre communication research lab, smart autonomous electric vehicle lab, Thapsat research lab, wireless communication lab. Good classrooms with mostly air-conditioned, free wi-fi around the academic area and in hostels. Very big and spacious five-storied air-conditioned Nalanda Central Library with modern technology. There are 16 hostels, most of which are conditioned. Mess, laundry, cleaning services, gym, and night canteen are also available in hostels. Mess food is quite good. There is a fully functional health centre with a full-time doctor on the campus.
Faculty: Teachers are professional, qualified, and helpful. Course curriculum sometimes doesn't feel very relevant to modern needs, but overall, students get industry-ready. Semester exams are moderate to difficult. Labs and hands-on experience provide a great opportunity for the students to gain deep insight into the course.
Other: College events happen all year. Scholarships are also provided to top-performing candidates. Campus surroundings are lush and green. One can reach the campus via bus, train, and car.

Really good infrastructure with a guaranteed fun college life.
Placements: Placements are not bad. The average package is around 15 LPA, and with the right guidance and skills, campus placement isn't hard to get. Under the mentorship of good faculty, you can get good referrals and recommendations, which make placements much easier.
Infrastructure: Mess services are great as they are catered by Sodexo, and hostels are fairly maintained. The rooms are neither too tight nor too big but the right size. They are cleaned regularly by the staff, and the food in the mess is hygienic with no compromises in taste.
Faculty: Good curriculum so that students can have balanced workloads and not compromise their college life. Due to adequate time given before and after the exams, the child doesn't feel super pressurized but is content with the time in hand and with the ease of studying.

Great college by infrastructure, placements and college life and the faculty.
Placements: Numerous companies come to our college for different roles, both teaching and non-teaching. They offer a range of salaries and benefits. The highest salary offered was around 36 lakhs per annum. Companies also come for internships as well as full-time opportunities. The minimum stipend for internships is 12,000 per month, and the maximum is 1,00,000 per month. Almost every company that you've ever heard of comes for placements at our college. To get a placement, we just have to be good at what we do. The first step is usually an online assessment, which is very important because if we clear that, we will be able to sit for the interview, which is the next step.
Infrastructure: This college has one of the best infrastructures and hostels in the country. The food is delicious, and the portions are generous. The Wi-Fi is available everywhere on campus, and the library is well-stocked with an extensive collection of books.
Faculty: The teachers here are very helpful and knowledgeable. They are always willing to help us with whatever we need, and they also motivate us to do our best. The course curriculum is very relevant, and we will definitely need all of these skills in the industry. The exams are averagely difficult, but if we attend all the lectures and study the content provided by the teachers, it should be fine.
Other: I have always liked electronics, so I chose this course. There are many societies on campus that will help you do better and pursue whatever extracurricular activities you want. The annual fest is called SATurnalia, and it is very grand. Many celebrities come to perform.

A good university for everything .

Should you join Thapar University or not? - A detailed review.
Placements: The placements are really average in the University. My batch is 2025 ECE and for internship itself (2 months) that occurs in the summer after 3rd year, there were only 2-3 companies that targeted electronics domain. There were a total of 10 companies in which students could sit for the summer intern. Considering the placements of the previous batch, the average placement can be nearly 10 Lacs per annum but still 30% batch of 2024 is unplaced and they will be sitting with the batch of 2025 in placements increasing the competition. The top recruiting companies were Bajaj electronics, STM, Siemens, Texas instruments.
Infrastructure: Infrastructures and all the related facilities are top notch. The labs and classrooms are good. The library is considered the best in North India. There is ample amount of equipments well suited and upto the quality required along with the course that is being taught. The hostels are great too. The food is good and the committee is supportive .
Faculty: The teachers are really helpful and qualified. But the teaching can be a little better as there are some courses which require detailed explanations and there was gap with that in the course. The faculty is really qualified and helps a lot when approached. The course curriculum is relevant with the current standards and constant changes are introduce too. The semester exams can be considered of medium difficult and the pass percentage is 35%. The grading is done relatively using the bell curve scale.
Other: The course curriculum is well versed but the faculty is really average when it comes to teaching. But considering the aspect of their qualification they are really well versed and all are Ph.D. cleared and help a lot when you approach them. Exams are on time and are of appropriate medium difficult. The competition is a lot considering too many students enrolled in the same course. The fee hike policy is 10-15% every year. There are merit and merit cum means scholarship for students. There are many alumni scholarships offered too.

Truth of Thapar institute of engineering and technology .
Placements: Around 75-85% students got placed last year from ECE. The highest package was around 60 Lacs and the lowest 9 Lacs. There are many top recruiting companies like Accenture, JPMC, Zomato etc. Around 50% students got interned. Senior engineer, Team lead etc. were offered in my course.
Infrastructure: Classrooms and labs are well-furnished and have modern interiors. Each class has a Projector too and library is ranked as one of the best libraries in the World. In hostels, there is an access of Wi-Fi 24X7, Rooms are air conditioned, big and clean. There is a good facility of house keeping and laundry too. The food has vast variety but menu doesn't changes regularly so it seems boring to have that continuously.
Faculty: Teachers are highly qualified, experienced and supportive. Teaching quality is very good if you are attending classes regularly. There are 3 types of classes (Lecture, Tutorial, Practical). The course curriculum has been updated according to the industry demand. Difficulty level of exam is quite good so one has to put in the efforts.

It's an roller coaster ride for students for 4 years with a great experience.
Placements: The students are hired for full-time jobs by industries based on their performance in campus placement interviews. These interviews typically follow a process that starts with the company being represented. About 80% of students are placed in the highest package, which was 55 lakhs, and the average package was 10 lakhs.
Infrastructure: Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology provides various facilities to its students. The Wi-Fi campus houses a centrally air-conditioned library that remains open until 8 pm on all days. Apart from this, the institute has a separate hostel for boys and girls with good food quality in the messes and canteens.
Faculty: All the faculty members are highly qualified, helpful and knowledgeable. All professors have their own teaching methods, which may be difficult for students to adopt. In each semester, the institute conducts ELCA, different curriculum activities for industrial development.

A review about Thapar Institute Of Engineering and Technology.
Placements: The number of students getting placed is quite decent, at about 95%. Several of the companies visit our college like JP Morgan, American Express, etc. Talking about the average package, it is around 12 lpa, and the highest package is often varied depending upon the branch.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is really good and well maintained over an area of 300 acres. The facility for Wi-Fi could be found all across the campus without any glitches. Also, our college has Asia's 7th largest library, which is a very nice place to be seated and do the respective work. Mess facilities, on the other hand, are also great and have good, nutritious and tasty food.
Faculty: The faculty members are well qualified and really knowledgeable. They are really friendly and easily approachable. Yes, the curriculum is well structured, making students ready for the current industry demands. Talking about the difficulty of the examination, it is easy to crack if studied well enough .
Other: I chose this course because I personally found electronics quite interesting to study and to know things in depth. Several of the events are conducted every year by different societies, including the main cultural fest named Saturnalia.

Yes, I'd say it's worth it. My cousin studied at Thapar, and he always says the college gave him good exposure, strong academics, and decent placement opportunities. If you stay focused and make the most of the opportunities, Thapar is a good choice for B.Tech.

It's possible to get admission at Thapar University, based only on board marks as 50% of the seats, admission is through JEE Main. While for the other 50%, admission is done based on the 10+2 score. In order to get admission based on merit, you need to score above 70% in 10+2.
