The second best college in West Bengal.
Placements: Placement depends on the student's quality. Almost 70–80% of students get placement. The highest package is around 45 lpa and the lowest is around 3.5 lpa. TCS, Hitachi, Wipro, and Infosys are the best recruiters. You can easily get an internship here; almost 80% of students get an internship here.
Infrastructure: There are neat and clean classrooms. Wi-Fi isn't available in our department building. I'm not a hosteller, so I can't tell you about hostel facilities. But you can easily find a mess or PG beside the college campus. If you don't stay in a hostel, then you can get your meals from either the mess manager or from any hotel.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful; they put in a lot of effort to explain everything to the students. You can also request that any teacher explain something to you personally. The students are made industry-ready by conducting various trainings. As it is affiliated with MAKAUT, the semester exams are conducted with high security.
Other: I have a diploma in this course; that's why I chose it. The roads on the campus could be better. The fest is so big that many artists come here to perform, and the campus is very peaceful. You can easily get scholarships here.

Should I get admission in Kalyani Government Engineering College - A Short review.
Placements: The placements in Electrical Engineering department in KGEC is quite low near about 30%-40% of the students in this course get placed every year. Specially TATA POWER and TATA NINJA and IEEE recruits the students. One of the KGEC pass out is in the ISRO and many other got their career settled in well reputed places. In Kalyani government. Engineering College round 80%-90% of students get placed from IT, CSE and ECE branches every year through on and off campus placements. ME and EE branch has lower placement and it is around 30%-40%. The average salary is offered 3.6-4 LPA CTC. The highest package is offered by Microsoft is 40 LPA CTC through off campus placements. Near about 20%-30% students get internships in various companies every year.
Infrastructure: My department is Electrical Engineering and this is one the best departments in the college. Its faculty is quite good and the teachers are very helpful, they all are quite experienced and all of them are doctorate. Seniors from the M.Tech helps the juniors a lot. The labs along with the classes are modern and well-equipped. Students can practice lab experiments getting permission from the departmental HOD and the lab assistants are there to help the students. The students who will take hostel, will live a quality life. The fooding and lodging is quite good in the hostel. There is a canteen in the hostel and equipments are available in the hostel. In this particular course the professors neatly teaches the students and they make the students practice the modern industrial skills. The skills are taught practically from 3rd and 4th year of the course so that the students don't face any problems in the future while building their career. The semester exams are not that hard if a students studies well and follows the lectures of the professors and take notes. Almost 100% of students pass the semester exams.
Other: I had interest in electrical staffs that's and I got more interest as I grown up and at last I choose Electrical Engineering. As the electricity is running the world and ways are being seek to get electricity from renewable energy sources and the modern world is going towards the electric vehicles, my course can find the ways and solutions to this, that's why this course is getting really interesting. The course would be better if the technical exhibitions are organized in the college and it would be really good if the students are thought about the researches from the beginning of the course. If anyone one thinks the government. Colleges are boring, its not at all there are many fests in KGEC. The main fest in KGEC is EXPEKTRO, the cultural part of this fest EXOTICA and technical part of this fest TECTIX. And there are many other fests and programs where a massive number of crowd is present. KGEC has great connectivity with surroundings as it is a industrial place. All kinds of scholarships are available for the students from financially unstable family. Extracurricular activities are not only done in this college, its mandatory for every students and points are given after this and it is called MAR points.
