In an exclusive interview with Shiksha.com, Ayaan talked about his CBSE 10th board exam preparation routine, his reaction to Class 10 CBSE results, tips for upcoming aspirants and more. CBSE Board Exams 2025 were conducted from February 15 to March 18, 2025. The Board announced the CBSE Class 10 Results 2025 on May 13.

CBSE 10th Topper 2025 Ayaan Sanjay Sonigara has secured a whopping 98.2% in CBSE 10th Board Exams 2025. Ayaan, a student of Orchids The International School, Pallagully, aspires to become an Engineer. Talking about his dream college, Sonigara expressed that he wants to join IIT Bombay.

Q: Congratulations on your result! How was your reaction after seeing the results? Did you score what you expected?

A: Thank you! I was overjoyed and felt extremely proud when I saw my result — it truly felt like all my hard work had finally paid off. Although I’m happy with my performance, I do feel I could have done slightly better in Social Science.

Q: Please tell us something about your family background.

A: I come from the Jain community, and my family has been living in Mumbai for over 60 years. I’m blessed with a very loving and supportive family who have stood by me through all my ups and downs.

Q: Please tell me about the stream that you are targeting.

A: I’m targeting the Science stream with PCM (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics) and I aspire to pursue engineering.

Q: What was your strategy to score above 95%?

A: My approach was to stay consistent with my studies, focus on understanding the concepts thoroughly, revise regularly, solve sample papers, and manage my time effectively during the exams. 

Q: Did you take any online or offline coaching?
A: Yes, I opted for offline coaching which helped me stay on track and strengthen my fundamentals.

Q: Who encouraged you the most in this journey?

A: My biggest pillars of support were my parents and all my teachers. Their constant encouragement and belief in me gave me the motivation to keep moving forward, especially during challenging times.

Q: What was your routine during the CBSE board exam preparation?
A: I followed the following routine for my CBSE 10th Exam 2025 Preparation:

Morning (7:30 AM – 9:00 AM) – Light Start 

  • 7:30 – 8:15 AM: Revise yesterday’s topics or study an easy subject (like English/French). 
  • 8:15 – 9:00 AM: Study a theory-based subject (like SST or Biology). 

Afternoon Break + Recharge 

  • School / Tuition / Rest / Hobbies / Light activities 

(No intense study here) 

Evening (4:30 PM – 6:00 PM) – Focused Learning 

  • 4:30 – 5:15 PM: Practice questions (Math, Physics numericals, or maps). 
  • 5:15 – 6:00 PM: Study a second subject (alternate between Science/SST). 

Night (8:00 PM – 9:00 PM) – Wind Down 

  • 8:00 – 8:30 PM: Read or revise textbook highlights / NCERT. 
  • 8:30 – 9:00 PM: Write short notes or flashcards. 

Overall, I kept my study time to about 4 hours a day with a good mix of focused learning and adequate breaks to avoid burnout. 

Q: What are your future plans? Which career path are you aiming for?
A: I aspire to become an engineer and aim to secure admission to an IIT. My long-term goal is to build a strong career in engineering where I can continuously learn and contribute to solving real-world problems. 

Q: What is your favourite subject?
A: My favourite subjects are Mathematics and Physics. I enjoy problem-solving and understanding how things work — these subjects always keep me curious and engaged

Q: Are you planning to begin preparing for any entrance exam?

A: Yes, I have already started preparing for the JEE entrance examination.

Q: What is your dream college/institute?
A:
My dream is to study at IIT Bombayit’s a place that aligns with my aspirations and academic goals.

Q: What are your future goals?
A:
My future goal is to build a strong career in fields related to engineering where I can keep learning and solving real-life problems.

Q: Please share some tips for students prepping to appear in CBSE Board Exams 2026
A:
Start early and be consistent from Day 1. Treat NCERT books as your primary source of knowledge — they are truly like a Bible for board exams. Revise regularly, make your own notes, and don’t skip solving previous years' question papers. This approach builds both confidence and clarity.
